With all these Sonic X action figures and comic books coming out, I'm wondering if there will be a Sonic X Movie coming next, I'm just curious about that.

Noting that Sonic X is a Japanese series and the second season hasn't aired there yet (to my knowledge), it's safe to say that it's not popular in Japan (which isn't suprising, Sonic never was over there. Hence why it took so long for them to make a show in the first place) and so unless a foriegn country commissions it to be made, ala Sonic X Season 2, it wont happen.

And though Sonic X is unbelievably popular in English speaking nations, aswell as European countries, I doubt a straight to video movie would be worth the commission and it's not Yu-Gi/Pok popular enough for a cinema.

PERHAPS a season 3, but that's praying and crossing fingers.

I'm looking to buy the adaptations of Sonic Adventure 1,2 and Sonic battle in the Sonic X series. Does anyone know what dvd's contain those episodes?

Volumes 6-8 are SA1/2 I think. Sonic Battle isn't out yet.

I only have the Sonic adventure 1 and 2 movies. They're still in Japanese though. The english subtitles always give me a laugh cause Sonic swears in them. XD They aren't the worst things I've watched, but not the best either. I like the Sonic movie based off Sonic CD myself.

I didn't even know they made a movie for Sonic Battle.

They're not movies. SA1/2 are just 12 episodes of Sonic X, Sonic Battle is about 5 of them.

"Sonic The Movie" is a 2 episode OVA, and it's not based off of Sonic CD, it just features Metal.

Oh, it's called Sonic the Movie in English speaking nations, but it was originally aired as a 2 part OVA for Christmas (95, I think?) in Japan. Dubbing company (the not so crap one... only do video... can't remember their name) brought it over and packaged it as Sonic The Movie with the whole "scrape your knuckles, catch some tails" tagline.

I see, I see. I think I remeber hearing that before too. Cool.
.....
That tagline just cracks me up for some reason. "Catch some Tails"? XP What's that supposed to mean?

Getting on topic. I read somewhere that they've been trying for a full fledged movie. What I read is that no one is really interested. I don't know if it's true. It's just what I read. Sega has had a few issues getting someone to make it.

Well if 4KIDS ask them they could make a movie. The Yu-Gi-Oh movie was made for Westeners because 4KIDS ask and pay for it. Also SEGA-Sammy owns part of TMS now so they could make one if they want to.

Like I said. I don't know if what I read is true or not. Given what you said Shadonic maybe a Sonic movie is in the near future.

Perhaps what you heard about was the proposed Ken Penders Sonic movie.

Back around the time that Sonic X was first announced, Ken actually had negotiations going on between Sega, Archie, and some animation studio to make a movie based on the Sonic the Hedgehog comic produced by Archie. And apparently, things looked pretty good for a while. However, it became clear that the Sega didn't want to confuse new fans by marketing two very different versions of Sonic at the same time. It was a couple years before Ken actually admitted that the movie had been shelved.

Ken hasn't spoken much about the movie, but he's having an online chat tomorrow and I intend to make it a topic of discussion.

I'm sure someone will if not me, but in any case I'll do my best to get a transcript and maybe post highlights in Knothole.

I heard about that. Maybe that is what I read about. Kinda sad. I always liked the thought of a REAL Sonic movie. That's just me though.
....
Ken Penders? That I wouldn't mind checking out.

In case you didn't know, his site is at www.kenpenders.com, with a message board and chatroom attached to it.

Becuase this is going way off topic, I'll weigh in on the original question.

Obviously, there are no current plans announced for a Sonic X movie or a Sonic movie of any type. It's likely that TMS has no plans to continue Sonic X at all, since episodes 1-52 did poorly in Japan and the other episodes haven't even aired there yet.

I think it's possible that the series will continue in America and Europe, and if that does happen then there may be some kind of TV movie or Direct-to-Vido. But I wouldn't expect a Sonic X movie in cinemas.

However, if Video Game movies ever really catch on, we may see Sonic cash in on that in some way, although it may not be under the Sonic X name.

The funny thing is that Sonic X episodes 53-78 aired in other Asian countries except Japan.

Also, I thought that Penders movie project was just him spewing hot air.
