I just realized something- while this year marks Sonic's 15th, it's also Eggman's 15th and Shadow's 5th as well!
Eggman deserves some recognition for being Sonic's first and most persistent foe, and Shadow deserves some for giving Sonic the best run for his money since Metal Sonic.
What say the rest of the Mobius Forumers?
Well, i knew about Eggy birthday but not Shadow.
IMO, Eggman was never a HUGE threat to sonic and crew 'Till SA1 and SA2. And if Sega do Soinc the hegehog right, he maybe be a super bad guy.
Shadow never really did a lot to make Sonic run for his money, caused trouble? Yes. But not the way Metal douse it.
Actually Shadow did give Sonic a good run, he was beginning to become more popular than Sonic 'till Shadow's game,which ruined it all for him.
If you want to be anal about it, it's also Rouge's 5th, and Bean and Bark's 10th =p
Up with Eggman, down with Shadow, I say. Back in the day, Eggman was my hero (aside from Batman).

P.S. You Guys and Girls should watch the movie and read the book Called 'The Birds'. Im watching the movie at school in English class after we read the book in our text book. You will never see Birds the same, Im tell'in ya. But i still love Bean, ever though he look like he's gonna peck my eyes out any mintue now.

This year also marks the birth of a newer crappier Eggman, who probably created the newer crappier Bomberman for all we know, and he's probably the grandson of the older more wrinkly Solid Snake.

So the Death Egg doesn't count? A war machine able to create massive damage in no time at all? Actually managing to steal the Master Emerald and dupe its guardian without the sodding jewel breaking? Trapping countless animals in his machines?
You really think that this isn't a huge a threat as SA1 and 2 where most of the time he did jack all other then team up with Sonic and co. against an external threat that he could do little against?
This new Sonic fan generation makes me cry. =(
You also forget that in Adventure 1, Adventure 2, Heroes, Battle, Advance 3 and Shadow (less so Shadow really), he was only there to screw up and allow his ally to userp him and become the main enemy. In the case of Shadow he was trying to stop the Black Arms and conquer the world it seems. Which wasn't the best thing to do.
Adventure 1 - Chaos
Adventure 2 - His own Grandfather dammit!
Heroes - Metal Sonic
Battle - Emerl
Advance 3 - Gemerl
Shadow - Black Doom
And in Riders he technically won, be his rewards was so poor that he fainted.
And thats more than likely to happen again in Sonic 06 really.
You know the main reason why I was looking forward to Sonic 06's storyline. Ignoring all the spin on what "returning to his roots" actually meant. I thought Eggman was actually going to be the main villian again. He kidnapped a princess, he has a new contraversal, realistic look, He has made all his robots look mean, He has resurrected the Egg freakin' Carrier it seems and he has maintained the comic book style animations and overreactions that made him great in the 3D games. Heck, his actions might have been the cause why we have a white, telekinetic hedgehog from the future trying to stop Sonic running around in this game. But alas its not to be.
I'll die a little inside if Eggman get outshone in StH 06.
I think he's the best villain the series has. He'd make you laugh... if he wasn't trying to kill you, that is.

Hey- I just had a funny idea! Maybe Eggman hates Sonic so much because everyone forgets his birthday because they're too busy celebrating Sonic's on June 23rd!
Eggman will have an EGG CAKE! With Egg Juice! Ugh. How nausiating.

To me, Eggman was at his most evil in Sonic 3 & Knuckles (he had the freakin' DEATH EGG!), and Sonic CD.
Seriously, it's about time Eggman became the true enemy to Sonic once again.
I remember back in Sonic Adventure 1 when Eggman confronted Sonic in the EGG VIPER, I though "Awesome, Sonic vs Eggman, the way it should be!".
I was dissapointed with the lack of vs Eggman battles in SA2, and in Heroes...well...let's forget heroes for now.
The point is, I don't want Eggman becoming a nucance to Sonic and co anymore, I want him to be the ongoing TRUE threat once again, like Sigma in the Megaman X series (before X8 of course).
But, time (or Sonic The Hedgehog 06) will tell...
