2: DId anyone saw today's episode of Sonic X? A crab clawed Sonic onto his tail and Sonic swammed (abeit retardly) to the surface. So maybe Sonic will be able to swim, but all bad like.

I haven't been keeping up with this so I don't know if this was revealed before, but Amy's outfit is different...first Riders, now this. Just what are they trying to do? I'm really glad it hasn't become a trend and that everyone else is intact...the whole thing bothers me for some reason.
While on the note of appearances I might as well go eeeeeeee over Sonic still being the "right" shade of blue and Eggman being in his "right" outfit.

First time at looking at Amy. It looks like an edited version of her Riders gear really. With shorts instead of trousers. And pink and white sweatbands.
Eggman does look badarse with that bow.
I do wonder if they are going to try and shoehorn a poorly written, if funny, story in it. Eggman and Bowser alliance would be great.

I find it amusing how that one screenshot has every single character leaving Sonic in the dust, including Bowser. XD I understand not wanting Sonic to wipe the floor with everyone no contest, but c'mon...

And even if he were to be brought back, it's sure not gonna be in this game. Sega isn't going to put obscure characters that only hardcore Sonic fans know or care about in the first major game where Sonic's featured alongside another important mascot character.

Anyway, notice that on the character select Mario was pretty balance but Sonic had very high speed (duh) but very low dash and accelration

I guess Charmy and Espio (and Toad?) will be doing the same thing then. I was hoping for more playables, but I guess they can only diversify the stats so much.
This game is really starting to look like nothing more than the typical Olympics tie-in, but with Sonic and Mario character skins in place of the athletes. I was hoping that considering how much of a landmark this game is there'd at least be something special about it, but all they've managed to show us is Sonic not winning every race he's been in.
That's the best part about all of this.
Hmmm...should've been a 110 meter high hurdle event. Then again...usually guys and girls don't race together so that causes a problem. =P
Edit: Video finished loading. It was 110m, alright, that's cool. They atleast got that right. =P Looks like it could be fun, once you learn how to go faster. =P

Mario is horribly unbalanced. Come on, Sonic has top speed and NOTHING else. Sonic actually jumped better in that video and lost.

Sadly, this factor is the biggest this deterring me from buying this game. Along with the fact that it's just another mini-game collection: the diarrhea of Wii games.

But yea then of course if Sonic was running laps around the characters[on a 100m might I add] people would slam it for that so either way there would've been major slamming...if he was uber fast or how he is now. =/ I think i'm going to get it regardless...I don't have a party game yet and my friends love playing Wii and they love Mario and Sonic...so this is a given.
Of course Mario wouldn't be able to beat Sonic if you aren't holding the B button. 😉

No I own the original and Sonic Gems, but I see your point. I guess I'm just a little peeved over the fact that a Mario and Sonic game is groundbreaking, but it's not going to be anything memorable. I'm hoping this is just one of more M&S games to come.

Hmmm...well I suppose they were referring to the Mario we are used to within his own games. But yes his stats in this game are balanced, which when compared to the Mario of earlier days[SMW, SMB 1-3] seems rather wrong. I think so, atleast.
He's always classified as balanced in the current sports spinoffs, and Smash Bros series, so I don't understand what the problem is.

No matter how good Metroid Prime 3 is, most of the Wii Sports/Play/Mario Party 8 audience isn't going to give a crap about it. Metroid is a relatively niche and hardcore franchise compared to other Nintendo's offerings.
