After he is defeated by Super Sonic, does he return to his old-school looks or does he keep the new design?
Speaking of which, has someone got pictures (fan-art will do as well) of his new design?

I have just started playing Heroes and seeing as the farthest I got to is Grand Metropolis with Team Dark, I won't be seeing the ending very soon.

After he is defeated by Super Sonic and Company, he does indeed revert to his old school form. And in the end, his "lifeless" body is being held by Omega with Shadow beside him.

Oh yea his new design rules. Coolest looking character now, IMO. Hey Hyper Shadow X, did you draw that fight scene in your sig?
He appears for like 6 seconds, it's not fair. You don't get a single good look at him, which is a complete waste noting the lengths they went through to redesign him.
Off topic: No I did not draw my sig HS2003, it was something found elsewhere. Pretty awesome wouldnt you agree?
On topic: Another question is why did he revert back to his old school form anyway?
Most likely because of his little fight with Team Sonic. Remember, they did get into a battle where they did defeat Metal, and he probably reverted to his normal old school form because he was out of energy after the fight and he did lose as well.
Sonic Heroes was so disappointing. Metal Sonic's big comeback and he, as Craig said, appears for literally six seconds before turning into Metal Madness. Don't Sonic Team realise that when the fans said they wanted Metal Sonic back, they meant for more than six seconds? What's worse is, since hardly anyone could manage to play through the terrible game 4 times, very few new fans would have been very exposed to him and therefore won't like him. And you know what that means: no Metal Sonic in upcoming Sonic games.

They just can't do that, we must have Metal Sonic's ultimate revenge after being beaten by team Sonic.
What about the fact Metal was freakin' playable from Day 1 in Adventure 2: Battle, which was insanely popular (well, kinda)?...
I think he meant the fact that Metal wasn't really used for the plot since Sonic CD, unless you count Knuckles Chaotix. He had a few cameoes here and there and was playable character in a few titles, mostly spinoffs (Sonic R and Sonic Drift) but his role in the game's storyline wasn't fairly big.
The same can be said for his role in Heroes as well, where he finally returned in the story but he was really just used as a final boss.

when we descovered metal sonic was playable, me and a few of my freinds were literally bouncing with utter glee. ^^;
certainly he was great as a final boss, but i was hoping it'd be as his redesign..not the freaky metal madness creature thing. that was a dissapointment, but i am happy that he was included into the game.

Also, what's the difference between Metal Madness and Metal Overlord? I've never played the games, and I want some facts about Metal Sonic's transformations...

As for your other question, here's a few details about both Metal Madness and Overlord:
Metal Madness is a giant, mechanical dragon-like creature which Metal formed by using scrap parts from Eggman's Egg Fleet, which he destroyed himself while claiming to be the master of all living things. Faced as Team Rose, Team Chaotix, and Team Dark. Exactly in that same order.
After beating Madness he grows wings and flies off into space, while Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles follows in pursuit. Sonic powers up with the seven Chaos Emeralds to become Super Sonic. Tails and Knuckles are protected in orbs for the ride. Metal deems himself as Metal Overlord. Of course, fought as Team Sonic.
After they eventually win the battle, Metal is knocked out of the sky and lands back in the deck of the ship. He also converts to his old school-style, as in how he always looked before Heroes.
Well, me and my friends call the normal Metal Sonic form in Heroes (the 6 second form) 'Metal Overlord', same goes for the Dragon form as well, it's all Metal Overlord to me in that game...apart form in the end when he powers down to normal Metal Sonic.
The Dragon form, I usually call 'Metal Madness' or 'Metal Overlord - Chaos form'.
I'm not trying to say it's right, because I know it isn't, I'm just saying how I do it.

So, from what I've heard, Metal Sonic somehow used CHAOS'S data to shapeshift into chaos? How does this work? From what I heard, somehow Cheese's brother was trapped inside of Metal Sonic and then Metal Sonic copied Cheese's brother's data (Because Cheese's brother is related to chaos the water monster?) and used it to turn into the liquid form somehow?
Yeah. I know I'm wrong, I'm just um... Learning.
