Kay, most peeps are really into the gameplay and shtuff like that, but I'm the kinda person who is so dumb that as long as the music and scenery is prettyful I will enjoy the game for hours.
So I thought I'd start a topic for the games you think are most prettyful. (For Best Audio and Best Visual)
In 2 Catagories:
1: 2D Sonic Games
2: 3D Sonic Games
For me, I'd have to go with:
1: Sonic CD (The game just LOOKS superb. The anime videos were fascinating, as well as the amazingly colored levels. Plus, the music is great techno. I have about 7 songs from it on my Ipod =P)
2: Sonic Adventure (OK, this game was all ABOUT Scenery. Sonic's jump to 3D astounded me. Just stand at the top of the pyramid in Mystic Ruins and look around you - it's so realistic! Not to mention the beautiful stages {HELLO Lost World!), but the music that went with them fit so well and went awesome even alone!)

1) Most prettyful 2D game for has to be Sonic 3 and Knuckles. (I know it cheats because its 2 games.) But every single level is beautiful with great music.
2) I'm going to get some stick for this but Heroes. It looked so much like a Sonic game (Especially the first 6 levels). All right soundtrack.
Hmmm..let's see.
1) Sonic 2. The levels are rather plain, yet fascinating. =P The music is great.
2) Hmmm..well let's see Secret Rings anyone? Sand Oasis and Pirate Storm are superb.
1) Sonic and Knucles (perhaps a bit clinicl and technical, but it was as damn near the peak of 2D graphics as you could get back then and we all knew it)
2) Sonic Adventure 2
I don't think a Sonic Game's looked this good since. It took Adventure and upgraded it a tiny bit.... Heroes was fun and bright, but the models were horrendous. Shadow used the same models with a slight texture upgrade and RIders doest count. I haven't played 2K6 so I cant comment on that....
So, Sonic Adventure 2, just cos I loved it at the time. I didn't want more like it, but as a one off foray into a darker Sonic it was perfect...
2D: Sonic 3 & Knuckles. The levels were nice and big, and there was a good cariety of colourful levels and exploring ruins of Angel Island.
3D: Sonic Adventure. Great variety of levels, from running across the city landscapes in Radical highway, Lost world and it's exploration, and the crazy robotic Final Egg. I really did enjoy the amount of variety and fun there was in the levels.
For 2D, I'd say Sonic and Knuckles. From the first level, it's looks had a sort of surreal out of placeness in a sonic game that somehow fit the game competely. Especially if you're playing as Knuckles; the whole experience is different, like it's not a Sonic game, and at teh same time, you know it is.
3D: Sonic Adventure. Hands down. It's such a brilliant game and it looks so fantastic. It's music fit it's mood and was awesome as well.

i gotta go with sonic adventure for the dreamcast. great music, great scenery!, you guys probably know this but just incase you dont some Sonic Team employees traveled to many places to compile footage for and get ideas for designing the stages, including Chichen Itza, Cancn, Tulum, Tikal, Cuzco, and Ica.

Isn't that awesome how much time and effort they put into the look of Sonic Adventure?
Now all they gotta do is regain that drive and we'll be set.
I almost wanted to choose Adventure because I knew how they did all that traveling and took their time to do something amazing with a game, but I just had to choose the next gen sonic.

Seeing what type of Sonic fan you are, I think you would enjoy it. Just ignore the loading.
well the boards i came from the sega boards, there were non stop rants about that game i tried to get people to shove it but those guys out numbered me

Some of the distant BGs in the Mystic Ruins are actually photographs from that expedition.
Hmm, while Sonic 360 isnt bad, for 3D I still love Sonic Adventure 2. There is a lot of nice detail, the colors are full, and the enviroments I always thought were awesome. For 2D Sonic CD has a certain charm to it that I think puts it above the otherves. S3K is a close second though.

the scenery in sonic adventure 2 was pretty cool too, but ive only played the first level, see i bought it at ebgames and when i opened it up.....it was a demo! 
it was fun though, i liked the way they made the first level, just like san fransisco!
to bad i returned it, i beat myself up every day for doing that,
i guess at the time i was pissed because i had bought it for 20 bucks but now i realize that was a collectible!
