Brazillian metal video game cover band MegaDriver have just released a new album focused purely on the spiny speedster.

http://www.megadriver.com...etalHog&tema=metalhog

I highly reccomend Chemical Plant, Marble Zone, Flying Battery, Ice Cap (Yes, I know it's over played, but check this one out), Live And Learn and the title track, MetalHog. If you haven't heard these guys before, check out their other stuff. The MP3s are all free, and it's mostly covers from Mega Drive (AKA, Genesis) games, but they have also done covers from other consoles (Chrono Trigger, Symphony Of The Night, and more), other artists (Like Beethoven and The Bee Gees!), a few tv ones (Thundercats theme is win) and some original stuff.

Also, in b4 loladvertising.

Heck yeah, I've been waiting for this ever since they did the tribute album for that one dude who did Streets of Rage, Revenge of Shinobi and Actraiser.

I don't like a lot of the versions they have, Flying Battery for instance is a poor man's version of the Project CHAOS one, but Chemical Plant rocked and there are some gems in here.

Still, as a Megadriver fan, it's not up to their normal quality.

I like the Ice Cap song but....hmmmmeh @ most of the others. A lot of them to me sound the way a piano would if it needed a tune up.

Yeah, not all are great, but considering they covered the 8-Bit version of Scrapbrain it's worth it!

Seriously, the 8bit Sonic the Hedgehog soundtrack kicked ass and deserves more recognition!

Megadriver are an actual band, Mofir. Not a remix group. I believe they are Brazilian of origin and tour frequently, the lead guitarist has two axes. One with an actual Mega Drive attached to the fret and one which is a Sonic head.

They're pretty dang awesome.

Also, after re-listening, Ice Cap pwns the rest of the album.

I think I vaguely remember this band and their video game covers from a few years ago. Their renditions of Chemical Plant Zone, Scrap Brain Zone and Ice Cap Zone are tiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight.

So Sexy Robotnik is much better than this. All of this. The guitars are too schreechy.

I enjoyed this MegaDriver music on the link that Heavy and Bomb posted in thread quite alot! In fact this just makes me want to get Game Metal Rock music guitar gear, and become a Game Metal Rock Music Guitar player, and musical artist for a career choice, and make albums of my own this way. YEAH!!!!
