I heard rumors of a new Sonic game for he PS3, XBox360 and the Revolution. I heard it was a sequal to Sonic Heroes. Can anyone clarify this?
I would've thought it was a given for a cross-console next-gen Sonic game to pop up. Dunno about sequel to Heroes, though.
Yeah its just i know Sega confirmed a Sonic game for the new consoles and showed footage of Sonic on the new consoles at E3 so thats why i thought this. Saying that a Sonic Heroes sequel would be cool.
A sequel to heroes would be laaaaame.
Odds are they'll continue the Sonic Adventure series or come up with something different entirely.
You can see the video that was shown at E3 at www.planetgamecube.com, it is running on X-Box 360 hardware and looks great, but there is something just not quite right about it.
I thought it was actually running on Sega's own arcade board because the Xbox 360 wasnt finished at E3 and to avoid looking bad all of the Sega games were on the new Arcade board.
It was only a demo of what the next Sonic might look like. it was very fast and quite cool.

it's called "Sonic Next". more about it, along with more on ShtH and SRsh, will be revealed in this year's Tokyo game show.

"Sonic Next" isn't the name of the game, Janu, it's just easier to call it that instead of "The New Sonic Game for the Next-Generation Consoles".

.....and i believe the earlier name was "Sonic 360". no one knows if those two are the same game. we are just guessing.
I hope it won't end up being called 'Sonic Next', as that's what I always refer to the next upcoming Sonic game - because as MattManiac said, it's a much easier title.
I hope that this next-gen game will have the same style as the E3 360 tech demo, as opposed to feeling like Sonic Adventure 3 (as much as I love the SA games, expecially the original) or Sonic Heroes 2 Minus The Teams. The 360 tech demo just had this great feeling to it - partly because the environments and enemies seemed more 'serious'. Or something. Whatever, it was good.
Janu - when they say "the title exists", they don't mean the name of the game. They're just saying that all we know about the game ("title") so far is that it exists.
Don't worry bout' it being called Sonic Next, it's probably only a Working Title.
Yeah, it's kinda like Sonic DS, which ended up being called Sonic Rush.
Anyway, really hope that that E3 demo is based on the Next Gen title. It would be brilliant if it was SA3, but something tells me it's not. Not sure if this has been mentioned but I noticed that the ring containers that Sonic throws out in the demo, are that of the Adventure series, and not that of Heroes...but hey, it's probably means nothing. Looking forward to TGS for more info! 
I hope that the new one will be for the Revolution coz i'm getting it and i would be annoyed if sega never brought it out for the revolution as they favoured the gamecube

I'm pretty certain the official word was that NO official console was named yet.

Naka announced a new next-gen Sonic title for the GC, not for the PS3, Xbox 360, and Revolution. He also said the new game will be shown at Tokyo Games Show.
If there was such a report then that's only a rumor. No official schedule for those consoles has been announced at this momment.
I've done some searches on this rumored game,and I read that its mainly about sonic and its not a sequel to sonic heroes.
I'm a hardcore Nintendo fan and it really makes my day to know that this is coming to Revolution! I can't wait!
