Maybe?
Yeah, she'll leave. I get the feeling they'll eventually restore her home world and they'll have to go their seperate ways. It's better to have loved and lost, you know.
And just when you thought it couldn't get any crazier...
Spoilers (Select To Read) Eggman teams up with the Metarex in an all out fire fight in some kind of vortex. Whether or not he's trying to pull off something by doing this (like the same way as using Knuckles' gullibilty) remains to be seen. |
Darn it guys, slow down I get back from holiday and you're miles ahead of me, I'm still stuck at episode 61.
*Gets downloading*

I think you might be right.
Now that I think about it, Cosmo's death would violate the unwritten rule of that you can't kill off the last surviving member of a fallen race.

Aeris Gainsborough broke that a LOOOOONG time ago. If it were something new by now, I'd be surprised.
I know it's been broken before, but it's far more common to let the moor thing live.
Episode 72 proves the show CAN get much, much darker. No pics right now, suffice it to say, the true form of Metarex is revealed (well, one of them anyway) and what they do to the people whose worlds they conquer.
Yes, the Metarex are evil,
Spoilers (Select To Read) they turn people into trees |
I've yet to watch the ep proper, but I'm familiar with what happens here. Sonic X Season 2 has taken yet another disturbing turn. Now that Shadow knows the secret of the Metalex, Cosmo's life is in danger.
EDIT: OH SNAP SHADOW GOT PLAYED BY FOX-BOY. Shame it wasn't enough. Also, it would seem Cosmo has finally realized what happened to her race. Poor thing.
XD
My my... 4Kids will have quite a fun time tearing up this series.
Any clue what the black thing was that broke in and stole that emerald? Since it preceeded the Metalex ship I immediately thought it was one of the generals traveling at some top speed, you can certainly see a crystal embedded in the formless mass.
But naturally, the mind wanders and you start to consider other possibilities.
Could've been Bokkun. 😮
Wait...
This series centres around Cosmo and Tails. Chris gets stabbed. Shadow does something which isn't completely stupid, selfish and makes no sense?
*Cancels all plans tomorrow night, puts his newly arrived Sega Saturn and NiGHTS back in the box*
Craigey is going to catch up.

Oh, you finally got that? Good man. You'll definitely want to check out Baku Baku Animal ASAP, fun party game that.
Anyway, that Tails has a definite love interest with a plant is kind of... odd. To put it lightly.
No idea, Psx. Half of me thought it was Dark Sonic, half of me thought it was the Metarex. 😛
I'm also curious where they teleported to. I'm betting into Metarex territory.

I must be the only one who didn't see it as a stabbing. Considering it looked like a karate chop and all (and, while the dialogue doesn't specifically state either way, it does seem, to me at least, to indicate if anything hitting rather than cutting...). But yeah, he got hurt. On the other hand, Chris seems a lot braver and more self-reliant/independant this time around. Shadow actually shows gratitude, admiration and concern for others. Not to mention that the Chaotix made more appearances and were awesome. Despite the whole IN SPACE!11! thing, there's a lot of good about.
Funny how people have been speculating about Cosmo's death and then a few episode laters (73)...
Spoilers (Select To Read) Shadow (to Cosmo): You will die. |
Episode 74 "The Lost Planet" finally expunges on just how the Metalex army came about.
Spoilers (Select To Read)
The teleportation brings the Typhoon in orbit around the world that once bore the Plant (for lack of the correct term) race. Cosmo is hurt, and during a scan of her head a device is discovered beaming information to the Metalex. Tails refuses to believe that Cosmo has been covertly helping the enemy, and goes so far as to tell Knuckles to "shut up" about her. It's also discovered the removing the implant could possibly cause her to lose her sight and hearing. All the while, Cosmo is hearing them talk about her and sobs. Meanwhile, the others explore the ravaged world and discover an abandoned building. A hologram of a female Plant self-activates and begins to detail the last moments of their race. You see, the Metalex army itself is made up of the males of Cosmo's tribe (the generals anyway, the drones are probably just automatons) after a disagreement between them and the females regarding how best to save their people from constant interstellar attack forced the females to abandon their home and nuke the males (I'm pretty sure the alpha female mentioned the word "nuclear"). ... Doesn't make sense, huh? But wait, there's more. This came about because the males had found a way to extend the use of their inherent powers: when threatened, they can grow to Godzilla-height and annihilate all comers, but at the cost of their own lives. The alpha males of the tribe discovered that their planet's Egg/Heart could be harnessed to achieve the desired affect. The alpha females got wind of this and their plans to invade other worlds, seize the hearts and conquer its people for the good of their race. Not wanting to be the cause of the destruction of countless innocent worlds, the females fled in their ship, leaving the males behind. But the males survived the attack and formed the Metalex army (their metallic bodies are really just armor, as seen when Yellow King met his fate a few episodes back). They've chased after the females since then, for revenge I suppose. Meanwhile, aboard the Typhoon Cosmo is distraught over her role relaying vital info to the Metalex. Cream tries to cheer her up but Cosmo refuses her kindness, possibly believing she's not worthy to be called their friend anymore (at least, that's the gist I got from it). Ultimately, she decides to leave them but Tails and the others stop her, convincing her that she's not their enemy, the Metalex are. This tender moment sickens Shadow and he starts to leave, but Chris stops him just long enough to get in a few words edgewise. Before the conversation ends of its own accord, something crashes nearby the Typhoon. It's Bokkun, yelling out to whoever's in earshot that Eggman has been imprisoned by the Mettalex. And we're quickly shown that Dark Oak has in his possession every true Chaos Emerald, perhaps proving that it was he who crashed into the bridge, saving Cosmo and stealing the last emerald at the same time. |
Wow, haven't done that in awhile. I hope I'm on the mark about some of those assesments. o.o
Oh yeah, Knuckles thinks about Cosmo's predicament and recalls when Tikal stood before the tribal warriors and her father. I'm sure... that was supposed to mean something.... yeah... c_c
The stage is set...
Are you saying that Cosmo is being set up to die at the end of Sonic X?
I bleeding well hope not, her mix of Cream's innocence, Shadow's angst and her love interest with Tails makes her a really cool character. Plus her pwnface is so cute!
*Squeezes all 3 members of Team Gurl Squad... Amy then crushes me to dust*
*whistles* Man, the deepness of this season makes the others just seem like puddles in comparison.
I really am doubting that Cosmo will meet her death sometime this season, but after reading all the stuff that's been taking place so far, I wouldn't say it's out of the realm of possibilities...
But I do see a tearful farewell between her and Tails, ala "Kingdom Hearts" (either that or I'm just putting WAY too many connections between the two series ).
...Btw, Cosmo's design just BEGS to be made into a plush...
I'm really curious how the ratings are doing with these eps in France. o.o
Edit :: I just noticed this...

T-Rex.... Metal Rex... Metarex. I think that's where they got their name 😀 |
In response to Ivius:
Spoilers (Select To Read) Half-right! Rex is Latin for king, therefore Metarex means Metal King. It seems they are the kings of metal. In respects to their giant lizard forms, that probably has nothing to do with their name. |

I believe he was reflecting on how violent inner-tribe conflicts can be (the plant females vs males, Tikal vs her father and their people).

Correct.
Quote:

That'll work. I was thinking more along the lines of Cosmo directly having to oppose that whom could very well be her father and... well... we know what became of Tikal, don't we?
She became immortal. WIN!
On the other hand, though, that also means you can't DIE... which may sound like something bad, but really, wouldn't life be pretty BORING after a while?
Or maybe she'd watch others die and feel bad that she can't stop it so they can live with her...
...or she could remain in the Master Emerald where nothing happens. That works.
I don't know why, but I had a feeling I should translate this part of episode 76 right away.
Spoilers (Select To Read) Eggman: But are you sure you can support this? Yes explain to me how you managed to get in this world. Chris: I used the energy of the Master Emerald to synchronize our 2 spaces and once that they were over the same wavelength I teleported myself here. ... OH! Eggman: You finally understood! If you succeeded in coming to this world, it's thanks to the energy of the Master Emerald! But, during the teleportation, an incident happened which explains why you got here younger and smaller than when you left. And honestly, we must say it's miracle that nothing worst happened to you. Decoe: Ah I understand better why you are so small for someone who's 18. Bocoe: Oh yes it explains everything. Bokkun: Yeah anyway you must have done a mistake somewhere, nothing to be proud of yourself. Chris: You, you better shut up! Eggman: Listen to the rest. If the Master Emerald ever lost all of its energy, then all the datas concerning you would be erased. Nobody is able to say what could happen to the Master Emerald, it could take years before its energy returns. In rsum, if the Master Emerald loses all of its energy you won't be able to go back on Earth and in the worst case you could even leave your life. Chris: I'd be stuck... |
Gasp?
this ep was really interesting. what eles did they say in the ep? I really wanna know >.<
#77's a heartbreaker. That's all I'm going to say. We knew it was going to come down to this. I'm just glad they did it justice, the final credit sequence went above and beyond IMO.
One episode remains. Seeing as the Master Emerald appears to be working again, I guess it won't be too much trouble to send Chris back home. But then that wouldn't be much of an episode if it were really so clear-cut, now would it?
Actually, what you saw I don't think was the Master Emerald as if you watch carefully, the main canon is surrounded by four green gems that I do admit look like the Master Emerald if zoomed in.
The Chaos Emeralds were revived, so it's not too much to assume that the Master was too, though possibly still shattered. Truthfully, I didn't get too good a look, it went by pretty fast.
Have your good look here.
Yeah, I took a look again to make sure. Guess I wasn't paying attention to the stream of energy coming from Eggman's ship.
Welp, we know what'll be the focus of the finale.
...Isn't it lovely that everyone LEFT Tails ALL ALONE in the control room to do the job....
*sniff*
Poor Tails..... 🙁
Oy vey...
Welp... Methinks 78 will be an aftermath/restoration type ep as they still gotta get back home and all...
Alright... what happen? Somebody set up them the bomb? They get signal? What?
All of the above, actually 😛
Spoilers (Select To Read) Cosmo transforms into her 'adult' form like her bigger sister and sacrafices herself, enabling a final strike at the Dark Oak planet thingy. So Super Sonic and Shadow find themselves in the Sonic Driver for the final time. Only one problem, Tails has to push the fire button. So... yea.. we see lots of emotion there. |
Just read something regarding a piece of info from episode 78....
Now THIS is a plot twist if there ever was one!
Spoilers (Select To Read) Bokkun likes Cream! W00! o_O;; |
You've got to be kidding me...!
Apparently that was the picture contained in the locket Rouge had used to bribe him into slavery early on in the season. There's other things about this ep that warrant discussion, but I haven't seen it yet and everyone who has (a.k.a. the French) are a tad confused about how it ended.
It would seem they decided to leave things ambigous just in case they get the call to produce more eps past 78.
...
So, like... I guess that rumour of Heavy and Bomb showing up was just that?
Like I said, I'm curious how the ratings with this series did over in France. Seeing as it's a success (as many prefer the latter 26 to the first 52), what's stopping another 26 eps being requested?
Quote:

Well, he did ask them to do so. =P
Can anybody give me any spoiler details for the season finale of the new Sonic X? I haven't seen a single episode of the new season yet, but since I've already spoiled the series for myself this far I might as well know the ending.
If you must, put it in spoiler tags as to not spoil anyone else who doesn't want to know the ending, since some might want to see the episode first for themselves.
Ending Spoilers, yo.
- Everyone goes back to the planet they started on - Chris goes back to his world with help from...Eggman - A seed was obtained somehow, IIRC Sonic gave it to Tails but I dunno how he got it. 'Tis planted and sprouting - The girl in Bokkun's locket is Cream - Shadow punched Sonic in the gut for some reason. o_O - Apparently Dark Oak lives on. We hear its voice, it sems to be having a chat with Sonic - The ME shards are brought back to the altar, but the ME doesn't get restored |
Thank you for the lovely spoilers, HSW. That's exactly what I wanted. Basically I'm up to date on the Sonic X series, now all I need to do is download the episodes myself and I'm complete. <3
By the way, as I've already said before, very sexy avatar. I love it. ^.~
It's like James Bond meets Sonic the Hedgehog!
Spoilers (Select To Read) The episode begins back on Sonic's homeworld, everyone's settled and life appears to be getting back to normal. Team Chaotix get a surprise visit from Vanilla who brings them all kinds of treats to eat, a hearty thank you for their work earlier in the season. Afterwards she and Vector take a walk in the woods and chat. Chris and Knuckles exchange words and goofy faces in front of the Emerald Shrine, the M.E. definitely in pieces and unresponsive, though Knuckles doesn't appear to be bothered by it. He goes right back to his usual duty. Eggman catches Rouge solemnly watching over Shadow's capsule. They exchange pleasantries, until Eggman gets a little too pleasant with her and gets an off-screen slap and the red mark on his face to prove it. Amy and Cream travel down a trail comparing baked goods when they run into Tails at his workshop, busying himself on the X-Tornado. After this we get narration by Chris and some static scenes of everyone getting on: Charmy teasing Vector over his infatuation, Knux next to shattered M.E. with Rouge looking in on him, Tails and the girls chatting over tea and cake, and Sonic running off into the horizon (great animation here, btw). Fade to white, and then we're back at the end of Episode 77 as the Sonic Driver fires both super hedgehogs into the Dark Oak planet, Tails beside himself in grief. The planet begins to crack, and we see Dark Oak in his Plant form awakening. A bright light fills the "white room" where he resides and a glowing arm reaches out towards him. He gazes toward it, slowly closes his eyes as if to contemplate something, then reaches out and takes the hand into his own. He starts to glow white too and we see the planet begin to glow itself. A vision of Cosmo appears (to us, I guess) and speaks. I understood "Thank you". A close-up of her face shows us a wonderful smile, as well as the petals falling from the flowers adorning her head. We next see Tails, his two bushy tails embracing him sitting alone on the bridge. He looks up to see the yound Cosmo standing before him. She speaks, Super Sonic and Shadow continue their vigil over the disentegrating planet. Sonic thinks to himself "Cosmo" then he and Shadow (in another wonderfully animated sequence) fires Chaos Control into the planet. Another vision of Cosmo is shown, she speaks (petals continue to fall) and we see that she is shedding tears. Suddenly Eggman shouts out "Oh no! No!" The planet is about to go supernova, and none of them have any defenses to protect them from the blast. Super Sonic immediately begins to fire off another Chaos Control when Super Shadow clocks him one in the gut, knocking him away. He then says something to the effect of "They still need you" (while smiling) and takes the rings off his gloves. He shouts out "Chaos Control" and disappears along with the exploding planet, just in the nick of time. Just a while later the planet reappears much farther from their position, glowing hot. Everyone thinks for sure that the hedgehogs saved them at the cost of their own lives. Tails goes outside the Typhoon and watches when Sonic comes up from behind. He approaches Tails without stopping, causing Tails to step back slightly. Standing right in front of him, Sonic takes his hand and gives him a single seed. Tails breaks down right there, resting his head on Sonic's chest. Bold blue just stands there with his eyes closed, stoic as ever. Space is filled with streaming Planet Eggs/Hearts returning to their homeworlds. We then return to the present. Chris is walking down a path alone when Bokkun shows up and hands Chris a message from Eggman. Sonic is alone sitting against a tree when the voice of Dark Oak breaks the silence. Sonic talks back, but in a happier tone of voice then previous meetings. He thumbs up towards the tree and runs off with a "yahoo!". The tree is shown alone, and the voice of Dark Oak can be heard again, chuckling to himself. Chris arrives at Eggman's to find a small craft waiting for him. Seems Eggman isn't a total fink, as he appears to have built Chris a way back home. Chris, Eggman and the robots exchange plenty of words. The conversation itself is difficult to make out, but at one point after Chris agrees to use the craft Bokkun gets all emotional and begs him not to go. Without even saying goodbye to any of the others, Chris climbs in and after Eggman talks to him some more, he pushes the button to activate the machine. Another animated moment occurs as Chris takes to the air. He watches out the window towards the ground, thinking of the reactions of the others when they find out he's gone without saying goodbye. Suddenly we hear and then see Sonic dashing along with the craft. As Sonic watches keenly from below, Chris weeps. Shining Road begins to play, and the credits roll. The craft fires off into the sky and disappears. Following scenes show Eggman apparently proclaiming to start his mission of conquering the world once again, while the others spout some one-liners as well, mostly centered around stopping Eggman. It's here we see Bokkun's locket and Cream's picture inside it, with Rouge commenting. We also see what appears to be Molly's grave and a small pink rose. Another shot shows us someone's spiky-headed shadow, looking a bit ruffled, standing over the grave. Tails and Sonic take off in the Tornado to stop Eggman once again, and from this scene the camera slowly inches towards a table with a flower pot sitting on top, and we're shown a tiny plant growing in the soft earth. The final scene is of a streak of light as it zooms into space. |
