Eggman's design is pretty much identical to the official art of the games. You dislike Eggman's drawn nowadays design overall?
Er. I think he looked diffrent in SA2. And I know his nose is DEFINITLY diffrent (it was *not* that big before, it was big, but not *that* big). And his moustache was bushier on the design sheet. And his shape was a bit longer on the design sheet. And----*Goes on.* Yeah. It is diffrent. *Shrug* Not horribly diffrent, but it's not like the art in SA2. Except the ones that are copies (the full body on the emotions page.)
As for Amy's second sheet - it probably was drawn quickly - it's concept art, after all.
Everyone elses looks less rushed, IMO. I think it's cause her tuft looks a bit small, her eyes are a little bigger then usual. Except the one she's smiling open mouthed, that looks alright.
From what I've seen, all male echidnas have claw-like knuckles.
Let me just chime in by saying that concept sketches and actual animation cels aren't always going to match. Thought a different beast entirely, the Clerks: The Animated Series DVD showcases some concept sketches from when the show was first being produced. The sketches weren't quite what the animation ended up being, if I may say so.
Point? Everything people are complaining about may get fixed once the animation is finished... or it could come out even worse.

Every echidna seen has had claw-like knuckles, except the 14 year old Tikal (the only female echidna that has been seen), but it may also be worth noting that the only echidnas that have been seen were from the Knuckles Tribe. I still think it's best to assume that males have the claw-like knuckles and females don't though.

Anywho, despite the....oddness of the human characters in this, I have high hopes for the anime. I mean, even if we find that Sonic X isn't very good, you KNOW that at least half of us will find ourselves sitting in front of the tube just to watch it....

Why is Amy shown riding with Tails 90% of the time she's shown, HMMMMmmmm......?
Will we finally get a Sonic series with a more mature (as in plot driven....sorta like SatAM [is attacked]) story?

How come people have forgotten the Tornado 2 can transform? The plane has been seen in both biplane and X-fighter mode. I know that it has a color scheme more akin to the Tornado 1, but you know, errors.

In the Japanese SA1 Strategy Guide released by Sega, they are refered to the Knuckles tribe. You can see more of the story in the Japanese storyline thread in this forum.

I read that after I posted. ^^' Hey, I've seen the screenshots though. And they don't seem *too* diffrent. Their still a diffrent model. But heck, Episode 1 usually looks a lot diffrent then say, Episode 23, so I still have hope...sorta XD;

But most children's anime - at least that makes it to the US - has that sort of set-up. If you look at Pokmon or Sailor Moon, the nuclear family with cheery parents and an apron-wearing mother is the order of the day. Frankly, I'm only surprised that we haven't been introduced to Chris' bratty-but-with-a-heart-of-gold-really younger sibling yet.
I can only assume it's for the same reason that most anime heroines in those sorts of series're sill hourglass-figured caucasians: heavy post-WWII Westernisation.

Ah, that sucks. Only the 56K one had sounds AND visuals, but it had crappy sound and visuals so slow and jerky it was only a clip show of several still shots, with Chris chattering excitedly in the background about Sonic The Hedgehog being speedy and stylish, and Sonic heartily yelling some laughable Engrish. The song sounded funky shiznit, though...I hope someone on WinMX picks it up soon.
Any word on downloadable trailers? Streaming ones are always too slow/crappy for me.

DivX AVI file. 4 Meg. (You MUST have the www.divx.com/ DivX 5.03 codec installed for this to work. It will PROBABLY not work right with the 5.02 codec. If you have troubles with it crashing or locking up with no video part of the way through, make sure you've got the 5.03 version of the codec.)
-As an additional tho, get your copies of ad-aware or whatever spyware dectectors you have at the ready, as I've heard rumours the latest DivX release has spyware. Having just downloaded Adaware myself, i am appalled to see its found 80 files of spyware so far. We should be entitled to sue over this, the spyware problem is getting ridiculous!

Tails can run very fast in Archie & SatAM thanks to his tails (just not as fast as Sonic) and it was obvious in the Sonic OVA that both Tails & Knuckles are super fast--just not as fast as Sonic (which is the theme).
Sonic is different because he's a lot faster than the others (and also can jump higher), but don't confuse the fact that Sonic can break the sound barrier to thinking the others are slow--they aren't slow by a long shot.
Oh yeah...forgot about Julien. I swear I've heard Robotnik called both names...must've been before Archie got 'serious' with the storyline.
And about the speed thing, yeah, I know the others aren't slow. I just mean that Tails and Knuckles aren't known for speed.

Yeah, Julian does come from SatAM, not Archie. It's one of the things from SatAM that's part of Archie.

I don't think Knuckles was really going as fast as Sonic. Sonic was playing around at that point in the fight and also in SonicX, Sonic gets a blue light trail behind him when he goes really fast.
On another note, my current favorite thing about the series is that they give Amy a "smash first, ask questions later" personality. They never gave her any personality in the Adventure games beyond "I'll follow Sonic!" But in SonicX, Tails tinkers with the robot to escape, but Amy knows what to do! Hit it with a hammer! And that scene with the girl tugging on her ear was priceless.
You're not paying attention to what's being said, Syrockoo. No one said Knuckles was moving as fast as Sonic can possibly move. All that has been said is that Knuckles was moving at super speed because Sonic was obviously moving at super speed (but not his top speed) and Knuckles was keeping up with Sonic. Sonic would move just fast enough to be able to taunt Knuckles, but Sonic still had to move that fast to be able to avoid Knuckles. Sonic was moving at a speed that is not attainable by a normal person unless they are in some form of vehicle.

Finally got to see the screenshots put up by Teamartail for episode 5. Was it just me, or did it seem that it took them a little longer to put these up? Oh well, whatever is was, there's more screenshots for this episode than for the others so far (I got 3 full pages printed out).
Also...did it seem like there was really something going on between Sonic and Amy this time around?
I just checked out the TeamArtail screenshots, and now I definetely can't wait for Sonic X to come to the states!
