Official artwork... apparently. At least the humans look like official artwork. I think I've seen that bird symbol on The Duke somewhere before in one of the videos.
Mephiles looks insane. Though, it's odd for his eyes to be that color -- he must be artificial, or just simply demonic.
EDIT: Could someone enlighten me on the connections we have here with the "official"? It strikes me as odd how a fan-site gets a hold of content that no one else may have access too. I don't know everything about the entire community network here.
Does Mephiles look anorexic to anyone else besides me?
Also, I dunno if that is official artwork since Silver has that odd furry thing on his torso. Perhaps he hunts animals in the future... with his mind.
Finally some gameplay info

-Sonic: of 3 hedgehog it seems Sonic plays best.
-Shadow:it seems Shadow's felt awkward to control. However I found this interesting
Quote:
In midair, he could fire out an energy bolt that disabled mechanical enemies. While still hovering in midair, Shadow could then drop onto the enemy and spin kick them to pieces. The midair energy bolt helped Shadow out for crossing gaps as well, since it lets him repeatedly perform a midair hop. This way, he can continue jumping endlessly by firing energy bolts, jumping, and repeating. It's also possible for Shadow to stick to vertical surface and pick up upgrades for his energy attack.
Apparently Shadow can use energy bolt not only to defeat enemies but to cross large gaps. Guess he doesnt need guns after all.Oh he can also do a spin kick too.
-Silver: he slower than the others but we already knew that.
I think that with characters comes different modes. I think Silver has the special where you have to find stuff, Shadow is intermediate (spin kick AND electric bolt. Now it's more like the anime, cuz he did that a lot), and Sonic is normal. And blue.
So attention, ladies, gentlemen, and Acrio, I'm pleased to announce that all of the characters have been given cool new badass looks, even Tails. Up yours, Morgan Webb.
With this new tech comes new graphics, and with new graphics comes new possibilities. Let's hope the loading screens (if any) are quick. If not, well, I'm not deterred. What's your guys' deal with loading screens? I'm more patient. It makes it all the better, if you ask me.
Be on the look out for romance. I have this feeling in my gut. THE FEELING!
I don't mind loading screens too much, but I hope there is no such thing as loading screens on this game. And also I hope there is NO romance in it, just jam packed full of action, but I also have that feeling of the romance playing a role. I just wanna see more game play of Sonic.
I chould care less about some dumb loading screen. And with all thouse amazing graphics and what not they can make a game with no loading screen. They did for that Tony skate board game, why not Sonic?
And NO ROMANCE! The (Insert name here)/(Insert name here) fans will have a hissy fit.
And God knows we ALREADY have enought of thouse.

I dunno man, to me Tails looks the same, just probably upscaled in size a bit. And we haven't seen all the characters yet to be able to say they look different, unless you know something I don't. Blaze is still the same, but she's new so she doesn't need a redesining yet, although I didn't like her otufit much but that's just being picky.
I expect Knuckles to look the same, which is fine. Hopefully Amy will have a new outfit. I did get used to her "Mrs Claus" outfit after awhile, but it still looks ridiculous. Cute, but just... no.
Eggman is the only radical change, and the general opinion is he looks fugly. Its almost as bad as that time Dennis Hopper portrayed King Koopa on the big screen.
Dokuta Egguman now looks more like his grandfather, professor Gerald.
That was Japanese for Eggman, just so you know. Or something close to it.
He just isn't complete without those goggles, though. I loved those....they....completed him. Now he's surefire bald.
And Dennis Hopper didn't look that bad, though the movie was pretty silly. An ok kinda silly. Land of the Dead Dennis Hopper would be more like it.
And you can take that to the bank.
I like the fact they really have made Shadow more different than Sonic. So instead of just being Sonic with a learners permit he is using his chaos powers to attack and reach new areas.
Dare I say it Shadow might be cool again... :O
The only thing I don't like about human Eggman is his coat is too short. Its like some sort of womans bra.
Quote:

He's talking about how Dennis Hopper looks nothing like Bowser, seeing as Dennis Hopper is human and Bowser is a giant turtle-dragon, and how this new Eggman look doesn't look like the Eggman we're all used too. And I agree, they could have easily made a design that didn't clash with the realistic look, and still felt like the Eggman of SA2. I for one would have chosen something similar to how he was design in the SA1 arc of the Fleetway comics.
Quote:
Of the three stages, Sonic's was the most fun, mixing speed and light action elements. Shadow's felt awkward to control, which the camera didn't help out by occasionally refusing to rotate to where the action was. Though we enjoyed Silver's stage better than Shadow's, the aiming on the psychic tossed didn't seem all that precise. Also, we couldn't help remembering how fast Sonic's stages were in comparison, and wishing Silver could move as quickly.
You know, its comments like that; on a popular gaming site that make me realise why SEGA makes their characters so similar. They just have to complain that Silver is slower don't they. Who cares!! I personally like the fact that he is a normal hedgehog.
...
Ok, he DOES have psychic abilities but... at least he's kinda normal... for SEGA standards...
Aww, who I'm kidding. He's just different. But, that's enough for me.
I agree with Koi here. Im SICK of people who think ALL the hegehogs should run. If you don't like the fact that Sliver is slow tean don't play the god forsaken game.
Some people LOVE the ideal that EVERY hegehog with super speed and super form tean haveing a slow hegehog with psychic powers. I think this is a breath of fresh air.
And I think it's a stupid, pointless gimmick just like treasure hunting, fishing, shooting, and all that other BS that doesn't belong in Sonic.
But only if you have fat legs =(
Like, really fat.

Thank you. If all three hedgehogs play the exact same way then people is going to complain that they're all Sonic clones (I've seen people people complain about this too).
I also seen people complain about this game being like Final Fantasy just because:
Elise
graphics
Elise
a complex story
Elise
a possible romance between Sonic and Elise
And I'm getting sick of it. Oh and did mention Elise.
I'm beginning to lose my already little respect of the SegaSonic Fandom
I think the problem is that when you buy a Sonic game you want it to involve lots of running really fast, exploration and the ability to get 99 lives.
When you buy a Mario game you expect lots of platforming. and so on.
The problem with 3D Sonic Games is that the if you just have Sonic levels the whole game isn't going to last that long. So they add in new play styles. I'm not saying its a perfect solution to the problem but if they manage to get it right as Sonic 3 and Knuckles did then it should work.
If they manage to make the characters go through different routes and/or change the characters abilities so they are different enough then, it could work.
Already it seems that Sonic, Shadow and Silver play quite differently from each other. If (When) there are more characters playable then they could give a unique gameplay expirence.
Your welcome sonicfan. And to ANYONE who's stupid to belive that A Sonic X Elise romance is gonna happen, Sega already once said that Sonic will never marry OR have a girl friend. (One of the Two. I forgot which, maybe both.) So don't hold your breath or Have a hissy fit.
And your not the only one who loseing respect in the Segasonic fandom, Sonic V2. I REALLY want to knock some sense in people for beleveing and speading dumb crap like this aound.
I'M LOSING RESPECT IN/WANT TO SMACK PEOPLE FOR HAVING AN OPINION WHICH DIFFERS FROM MINE

Yeah, that's what SEGA once said, but Sonic Team already hints a love story sub plot, watching the lastest trailer with 'Sweet Dreams' playing, not to mention Lacey Chabert confirms that Sonic and Elise has a attraction to each other says otherwise. -_-;

HAHAHAHA! These complaints aren't limited to the Sonic community. You can see them in general video game communities also.
John T.:

I dunno man, Sonic Wii is supposed to be 10+ hours which seems to be a pretty decent length. Besides, I recieved more enjoyment with 5-7 hour games that hit all the high notes in that small amount time than 25+ hour games that drags along with unnessary BS in a weak attempt to extend the length of a game.
And for the people here angry about the reviewer's complaints about Silver's gameplay, Wonderbat and John hit the nail on the head. When people play a Sonic game, they expect it to be fast-paced action. I remember people complaining about Big's and Amy's games in SA1 because both characters were pretty slow.
Quote:

That's what he mean. I don't think he was talking about just the Sonic community. People complaining that the game is copying Final Fantasy when obviously it's not. A game with a epic storyline, realistic graphics and humans doesn't mean it's a FF ripoff.
And about Silver, he don't really move that slow. He might not run as fast as Sonic but he don't run deathly slow either.
The Final Fantasy comparison is because of the art style, kid.
But either way it's still not Final Fantasty.
And please don't call me kid.
But you can understand why people would compare it to Final Fantasy. Not to mention it's far from the Sonic-style many people are used to.
Elise's hairstyle resembles Kairi's from Kingdom Hearts 2. Princess of Heart meats Princess of some other place that I forgot.
Sega also made Super Monkey Ball, right? What if Sonic finds an easter egg Monkey Ball he or Shadow or someone else got in it? The madness!
And like Kairi, Elise also has boobies!
I don't know about the rest of you guys, but I thought Amy's story in SA1 wasn't too bad at all, something I'd expect of her character. The same applies for Big.
But what really irks me is that if Silver is meant to be so damn slow in the game, then why is he one of the competitors in Sonic Rivals? Unless he uses his funky psychokinetic powers to lift himself into the air and "fly" as fast as the others, I just don't see it being any other way.
Quote:

*COUGHMORELEVELSCOUGH* Yeah. Well, I guess more characters does add on replay value -- as long as playing as the characters is actually fun and all that.
Everything looks good to me so far. I'm still really happy that Shadow has no gunplay (other than vehicle combat).

I heard on the internets that everyone is the same speed in Rivals. Yes all the effort to make everyone different in this game is wasted. YAYNESS!
Awesome! Wasted effort!
Changing the subject, Game Spy has a review of the demo they played.

I found this coment very interesting:

We also played through a few minutes of Shadow's stage before we died. Shadow controls much like his previous incarnations, although his attacks are really different from Sonic's. For instance, he doesn't have a spin attack in the air. Instead, he fires energy balls at his enemies to obliterate them. Shadow's stage took place in an ancient palace of sorts, but it had an eerie feeling to it, as if we'd played through the stage once before. Take that as you will.
It seems Shadow doesn't have the homing attack which is weird since in the trailer he can been seen using the attack against Mephiles's minions.Unless of course, the homing attack is one of those abilities you earn during the game.
Shads doesn't start off with a homing attack? Well, that downright sucks. =/
But the fact that he launches DRAGONBALL Z ENERGY BLASTS at enemies more than makes up for that. Hooray for blowing sh*t up!
But, I'm guessing that since you've got the three hedgehogs, they also represent the difficulty level. Sonic - Easy. Silver - Medium. Shadow - Hard.
And then there's the last, secret fourth hedgehog. He's purple, and has wings! Goes by the name Spiner! =O His difficulty level is INSANE!
Quote:
At any rate, Sega is banking on this title to revive the series, which has been stagnant for the past couple of years, so expect any problems, no matter how big or small, to be dealt with before the game's release.
I would like to believe that. I really would.

Hmm.
That'd be interesting. I might enjoy that, actually.
But until I can afford a 360, I'll be drooling over it at the stores.
It doesn't look like Jun or Crush 40 will be doing any new music for the Sonic game:
Jun wrote:
I know lots of you sent me emails regarding upcoming Sonic The Hedgehog music. I can tell you three facts at this moment.
1. The song for E3 trailer is not written by me. I don't play guitars either.
2. I'm not a sound producer for upcoming Sonic the Hedgehog project.
3. I didn't compose any song this time.

It's a shame really, I really enjoyed their stuff, especially Johnny Gioeli's vocals, I'm a big fan of his. I only hope that SEGA didn't ditch them the same way they did Ryan Drummond... (lol maybe they were too "cheap" for SEGA's "big budget" game)
I thought it was kind of obvious that Crush 40 weren't going to be apart of this game when Zebrahead stepped up to sing the song for the title, ya know, 'His World'. But that thought hadn't occured to me that they might've been brushed off to the side like the previous VAs for the cast.
Besides, SEGA's music budget probably would've been spent on Akon to pay for his bling, yo. =P
I don't think they have been brushed off. I think its a case of Sega wanting a new sound for the game. Not just guitar music. I would have thought they would be involved in Secret of the Rings and Rivals.
Well, looks like Sega has already begun advertising the game. I saw an ad for the game in the latest PSM(the one with GTA "girl" on the cover). It look just like the cover for the game only it has Crisis City in the background rather than Kingdom Valley. Guess this mean we can expect a commercial early next month.
So Sega gonna try to put classical music in sonic games?
You ALWAYS point out something out Jhon. And no im not sarcastic.

Yay!! It about time .
Jun isn't doing the music this time? But hasn't he been doing it for like... forever? Music is one of the only reasons I play the games anymore. Hope whoever is doing all the music doesn't blow it with a bunch of generic, unmemorable crap. That's one of the factors that crippled ShTH for me.
Thanks SHADONIC! (Watched the first video.) Wow. So Sliver can fly. I wonder if it's his gloves have something to do with that. Or atleast help him control his powers.
So, every time Sliver fly, the bar drains and refills. Im gussing that it dose the same for Sonic and Shadow.
Sonic and Shadow don't exactly have the ability to fly -- it probably unlocks something else.
For example, with Sonic, it may give him an extra boost on his speed. As for Shadow ... who knows. Maybe he just gets more angry at life or something and blows everything up within' 50 miles of range. (There are images of him glowing red ....)
And I wonder if people really do have better control with the 360 version -- the people in that video, minus the one with Silver, were just all over the place. I don't know if they were just inexperienced or what -- but, then again, you can't really expect to able to perfectly control something right at your first try. It took me over an hour to get use to Halo's controls.
I think those shots/videos are from the PS3 version. I see the Cross symbol in one of them. And the R1 and Square symbols in another.
Well Sonic has custom action, so that power bar could be for anything.
No gun for Shadow and Blaze is officialy in the game, can't get much better than that.(well maybe get rid of shadow as playable)
Blasphemy, Shadow's the only guy I'm lookin forward to. Blaze, she can go to hell or back to her own crappy demension or something. I will kill Sega if that happens. Then your next.
Plus, Shadow>>>>>>>Everybody else in the game.
You're right. In order to not be pissed if this game sucks, and in order to be absolutely blown away if it actually is worth the wait, we need to have VERY low expectations for this game!
So, I'll start off by saying this game is going to suck because it has Shadow in it, and the cameras are going to blow and ruin EVERYTHING.
I hate you. You suck. If Shadow's cool ass weren't in this game, I wouldn't be getting this game(or other Shadow fans). And your opinion sucks along with Knuckles, Tails, and Blaze. I mean who wants them in this game, they are crap. You must be brain damaged if you think Shadow ruins games, man thousands of Shadow Fans would tear you apart if you said that. Thanks for the laugh though.
Plus Shadow>>>>>>>>Sonic, Silver, and Eggman.
Nice find John. This artwork of Silver remind me of the Guyver for some reason. The second one looks sorf genericand the third one looks like he was drawn for the Archie's Sonic Comic.
EDIT- WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! Sonic Demo for the 360 is out . You can only play as Sonic.
*goes to download demo*
