It's actually pretty simple. The queen died, and Blaze was next in line.

I'm hugely ignorant of the monarch system, this is true. However, I thought that the next in line is always the one who gets the crown when the previous ruler perishes?
I'm sincerely curious as to how that reasoning could be wrong, as it's just been plain fact to me for all my life, and I never considered any other possibility.
Based on my limited knowledge of monarchial primogenture, males are preferred. So, if Blaze has a younger or older brother, or an uncle, or a male cousin, or whatever, then the crown would go to him. If there's no reasonably close male relative at all, Blaze is good to go.

This is the Sonic fandom, afterall. I mean female monarchs are sort of the status quo, not just for Sonic but for videogames in general.

Point is, fiction is full of princess damsels in distress. Very few princes. In fiction, when the curren monarch dies, 9 times out of 10, ONLY a female can replace.

It's sounding better. Besides the main action, there are over 100 side missions. It seems like it's going to be pretty deep.
Yeah, but it's easy to believe that game time and real time are entirely different.
I mean, what? Sonic's gained...a year, maybe, of age...since Sonic 1. So I think that whole "15 years" thing is kind of a fourth wall breakage in the bios.

Edit: Wow, after watching the gameplay footage (it seems more recent, as I can notice additional robots in areas), it looks like things have been cleaned up. I don't notice that one-second pause that you get after you use your homing attack, and it all seems more fluid. Though, seeing and feeling are two different experiences ... so we'll see.

That's what I said when I saw Sonic Rush's bosses 
At first I was thrilled by the new look enemies, but now I see I was ahead of myself. I still like the more common, cannon fodder bipedal robots that were our first introduction to the new robot styling, but especially with the coloring of all of these different robotic minions... they're still not quite cool enough to compensate for their lack of charm. SA1's badniks are still my very favourite normal in-stage enemies.
Neat. Yet another iteration of those funky little rhino tank Badniks. I love those things!
The dragon boss remind me of the lost two headed dragon boss from Sky Chase in SA1. I wonder if we get to fight this dragon using the Tornado?
Few know that Eggman is a fan of Zoids. He likes the Chaotic Century the best.
I just love the boss battles. Other enemies, just aren't a challenge compared to Eggman's big-ass machines.
Solaris' form two looks like an enemy from Kingdom Hearts. The Heartless that absorbs electric magic and has those wings.
There are three doggie looking things, so they must be must differ between Shadow, Sonic and Silver.
Iblis, I can understand his badass power. But what the heck is with this wyvern?...
Another note: It would appear the Xenomorphs have joined the frey.
It's official Iblis does look like a fiery Chaos in the screens that John posted; I wonder if Chaos and Iblis are mystically related. Also, the Biter, etc. Badniks, could they be "Artifical Iblis" or just pieces Iblis breaks off of himself?

The connecting (To me because im a girl) is doing 'Girl friends' stuff, Shop, Do hair, Cry over the phone about there Ex-boyfriends - WHATEVER. I can totally see that With Amy and Elise though.
Sega is not that stupid to but that stuff in a E-game (We hope not, They DID put guns in Shadow.)

Spoilers (Select To Read): Mephiles wants to rejoin with Iblis but he can't unless Elise cries. Which is were Sonic comes in. Sonic and Elise become good friends. So if something bad happens to Sonic, and he were to cause Elise to cry, Sonic would inavertably become the "IBLIS TRIGGER". ZOMG!

SLightly more sensibly I can say that the camera problems stil live, though they seem to be a bit better, and the homing bug is here again, but again, not quite as bad as say, heroes.
Other than that I drooled.
