Lol, I can kinda see that!
And his estatic manner is kinda like how Lloyd was in "Back to the Future".

Nah, not really. I can just find videos of it on youtube, and tape pictures of him in all his usual awesome Eggmanish glory on my walls.

Her sarcasm is based on real events, to which I was referring to. After taking a closer look into it there seems to be several clearly insane people out there who feel Zelda deserves nothing short of a perfect score, regardless if they've played it or not. Because it's Zelda. You don't give Zelda a @#%$ 8.8, you nintendo-hating Sonytard.

Lang you seem to operate on the assumtion that going to a forum and making haughty comments is going to somehow start a revolution. "once I get my points across"...lord

And again, you're not even saying anything that hasn't been said a gah-million-damn times before. Go back and read the other 100+ pages of this thread alone and you will see.

I'm not justifying this game's poor quality. I've played it and it really does just seem like SA2 or Heroes with a new coat of paint. But so what? The only people you find anywhere that agrees with you are the ones that already arrived at the same conclusion on their own. The others are going to like the crappy game regardless, and that is their porogative. You can go lurk now. And I suggest giving your friend the GBA version of Sonic 1. It's great!

oh and here ya go just in case:

opinion (ə-pĭn'yən)
n.
A belief or conclusion held with confidence but not substantiated by positive knowledge or proof: The world is not run by thought, nor by imagination, but by opinion (Elizabeth Drew).
A judgment based on special knowledge and given by an expert: a medical opinion.
A judgment or estimation of the merit of a person or thing: has a low opinion of braggarts.
The prevailing view: public opinion

It is bad to be a fanboy. It's fine to like a game like Heroes, and I personally think it doesn't deserve half the bashing it gets, but if you can't admit that the game has problems (and it has a f*ckload of them) then you're lying to yourself.

But many fanboys are awful. I mean you said it yourself, you don't understand those nutter Zelda fanboys going stark raving mad over a 8.8 rating. An 8.8! I bet every Sonic fan would kill to see another major 3D Sonic game score that high.

An I guarentee that there are nutter Sonic fanboys damage controlling this game or composing hate mail to whoever, gave this game a bad score. All this crap sort of almost makes me wish that I should have never played that SA1 DC demo that got me back into the fandom. =(

EDIT:Aaaaand Wonder beat me to it.

Sonic Stadium have Sonic the hegehog (The game) Music under there Music section(Hench the Music part), as well as other music.

And there's nutten wrong with being a Fan boy/Girl. If you call EVERY Sonic game 'Flawless' then you have some problems. EVERY THING and EVERYONE have flaws, some are just Small and some are Huge.

Say it loud, Im a Fan girl and proud!

And did'et People conplan about Sonic 1 GBA? But hey, You like, they don't like. Plus, I don't like spending money on something that beeen releashed Over and Over again. Thean again, I never have enough Money to buy new games.

No thank you. This fandom has people who are so batshat insane, that I would probably recieve brain damage by trying to decipher their fanchild babbbles. A piece of my soul would also die in the process.

Thus, I refuse to be associated with them.

I think a true fanboy/fangirl is differant than the stereotypical fanboy/fangirl.

My interpretation of "fanboy" is that I'm a fan and I'm a boy =P.
But I understand how someone would want to use it as an insult. <shrug>

I watched the cutscenes on YouTube.

Spoilers (Select To Read): By far the best part is Sonic escaping with Elise off the crashing Egg Carrier. That's exactly the kind of scene thats exciting to watch (not play) in a Sonic game, incredible aerial feats. The missiles chasing Sonic in the intro is cool too. Of course, most of the scenes are pure cheese, especially involving Elise and most especially Sonic's going super. Mephiles is a generic villain whose "plot" makes no sense ever. Eggman most definitely should not be a straight villain. He works far better as comic relief, where those cheesy villain lines make him more likable, instead of unintentionally ridiculous. But what I did like was the complete "continuity reset" ending, which means that if we're lucky this story will not influence any other games. Of course, SA2 seemed to be contrived to write the Sonic clone Shadow out, and he came back.

From the look of YouTube, and the amount of CGI clips in the game, I can tell you now, I'm one happy camper. The previous games didn't have that many CGI clips, and I believe this is what STH 06 needed to be that one step better.

Maybe that's what seperates it from Sonic Heroes and Shadow.

..plothole?

Spoilers (Select To Read) ...
So Mephiles tricked Silver and Blaze in the future to release Iblis in the past, so that he could fuse with him and take over..
But Silver's and Blaze's future had obviously already been taken over by Iblis, which means that in that timeline Sonic and co. failed to stop it (because Elise died aboard the Egg Carrier), therefore Mephiles actually PREVENTED that future from happening by talking to Silver and Blaze, didn't he?

Yeah, I was saying that as well. That would've actually been a very good movie, and maybe even somewhat emotional? Eh, maybe not -- unless your emotions are "WTF" with the whole Elise and Sonic thing.

The cutscenes practically are a movie, but that's because most of them are repeated in multiple storylines (Sonic, Shadow, Silver). There's over an hour of footage if you count the reruns. They should have put that huge CGI budget into making the game.

The music in the cutscene of Sonic on the Egg Carrier is awesome, BTW. I think it's an instrumental of one of the vocal songs.

Eggman doesn't act so different from before, but the plot is so 100% serious (or intended to be) that he just comes off as misplaced cheesy, not in-character cheesy. I don't think it's a spoiler to say that he AGAIN ends up on Sonic's side on the last story because the beast he awakened didn't decide to serve him. They've done that plot in what, every game since Sonic Adventure? That and a Super Sonic final boss (which seems to be required since S3&K) are becoming the "fight Dr. Wily in a disappearing saucer" of the Sonic series. Yes, it was incredibly cool the first time, and it was even cool the 2nd or 3rd time, but does that have to be a prerequisite for the series now? Regardless of how well it's done, it's too predictable.

Mephiles doesn't make sense at any time.

Spoilers (Select To Read): Even if he needed time travel to join with Iblis when he was reborn, he didn't need Silver to do that. It's revealed that the reason he brought Silver back was to kill Sonic so that Elise would cry. Her father made the worst monster seal in the world by sticking Iblis in her, but with the condition that if she ever cried, Iblis would be released. So why was he trying to get Silver to kill Sonic before he'd gotten Elise to get romantic with him? And when Silver teams up with Sonic, Mephiles just shows up after the rescue and one-shots Sonic like nothing, so why did he need Silver?

He also constantly asks Shadow to join him for no reason except probably to bring up a parallel with Black Doom and show that Shadow is out of the villain-joining business. But Shadow is the one who sealed him originally and as Shadow did that Mephiles was enraged and told Shadow he'd kill him.

One of the more interesting plot points, that actually could be sensibly referenced in future games, is that Mephiles reveals that the world will eventually turn on Shadow out of fear of his power, and that E-123 Omega is the one who kills Shadow (in fact he says, in a sort of Sigma to Zero way, that he was created to kill Shadow, which would explain why he was inactive at the start of Sonic Heroes, as a backup plan to the Shadow clones). But it's a total plot hole in this game because the way E-123 comes into the storyline is as a Chaos Emerald time capsule that Rouge commands to help Shadow in the future (and E-123 even says that he is disabling any other command until this mission is completed). So if E-123 is loyal to Shadow well into the future, without using time travel, how did he kill him?

When Silver tried to seal Iblis in himself, using the royal blood speech, did anybody else go "WTF he's a descendant of Sonic and Elise?" Fortunately that appears to not be the case, because he couldn't seal Iblis, but why is it that every male hedgehog can use Chaos Control and go super?

So if Iblis never existed at the end of the game, does that mean Silver and Blaze never existed, or that the whole sending Blaze to another dimension didn't happen, or what? Sonic Team has enough plot holes without time travel and dimensions, and with them, I can't figure out if Rush is supposed to be before or after this, or what's up with Silver and Eggman Nega in Sonic Rivals. This is turning into continuity spaghetti of Archie Sonic proportions and I wonder what influence it will have in screwing up new Sonic games. This is fine if the reset at the end means no more references to anything in this game except E-123 and Shadow, but Silver being in Sonic Rivals suggests otherwise.

Spoilers (Select To Read): I've been watching some of the clips of that thar Yoo Tube place. Several things:
Eggman is still cool. They've managed to keep his OTT actions.
Omega's upgrade is cool. Shame about his new voice.
I do like Mephiles's lack of mouth.

Something tells me that they are just going to drop the whole Alternate dimension thing with Blaze and just make it "She's from the future"
Sol Emeralds are just Chaos Emeralds. Everyone just started calling them Sol Emeralds because of the Soleanna place.
yeah.

Yeah, it may be overused...
But who here is getting annoyed with Mario's never-ending quest to save Princess Peach, or Zelda's amazing "boy to man, then back to boy" transformations >_>

Don't think of it as a "repititious, annoying style", it's just the theme of the Sonic games, <shrug>. Sonic transforms to Super Sonic to defeat the final boss.

Though- the fact that Eggman and Sonic join forces...again...is a bit annoying.
But they never really "joined forces" in any other game but Sa2.
Sure, in SA he was standing with Sonic, Knuckles, and Tails and not fighting, but he sure as hell didnt think he needed them to help him defeat Chaos. He thought all he needed was his spiffy "Egg Carrier 2" (lol)

Saving Peach is like fighting Bowser. It's not only like the foundation of Mario, but it doesn't force repetitive gameplay or plots (especially since, not only is plot never too serious in Mario, but they usually find ways to make saving Peach different or amusing in every game). Link, as far as I know, only transformed in Majora's Mask (I haven't played much Zelda), and the rest are plots in different time periods. And again it doesn't force repetitive gameplay or plots.

Really, from the moment Iblis was shown, did you expect anything other than Eggman trying to release him, and an invincible but ring-timed fight against a monster as Super Sonic in which Eggman is rooting for Sonic out of self-preservation instinct Spoilers (Select To Read): (at least the monster, as far as I can tell, was not exactly Iblis, which was a surprise)?

There are many reasons why Mario and Zelda have been massively successful and almost universally well-reviewed for 20+ years.

^I haven't played Sonic 2K6 yet, so I can't answer yer question yet =P.

I've never been a huge Mario or Zelda fan, I suppose that's just the impression that I've gotten from the two.
Either Bowser or Donkey Kong have kidnapped poor Princess Peach, and Mario's gotta overcome obstacles to save her.

Funny thing about Zelda...the game's hero is LINK, but he's constantly saving Zelda, winding up in the game being CALLED "Zelda".

But, that's the theme of the game.
Maybe after...10 years (That's actually 2008 >_>) of Sonic going Super Sonic at the last boss which apparently is a weapon harnessed by Dr. Eggman, it'll become less of an annoying repititous event and more of a Sonic theme <shrug>

Regardless or not of whether Mario's games are repetitive, the fact that they're still enjoyable to gamers from 20 years ago, and gamers today really says something about the franchise.

Also John W Echidna, you'd think they'd go with that theory but Blaze's bio on Sonic Channel completely contridicts it.

If Nintendo was Sega...
And they had used Sonic instead of Mario-
Had "Sonic the Hedgehog" (old version) instead of "Super Mario Brothers", and SEGA invented good ol' "Mario" to star in their famous "Mega Drive",
what do you think would happen? =P

Eh, nevermind. What's done is done, I suppose. A twist of fate and a stroke of bad luck dragged Sonic's name through the mud -_-

Mephiles doesn't make sense at any time.

Yes he does. The anwser lies in the PoP trilogy.
Spoilers (Select To Read):Mephiles is like the Empress of Time from PoP. In WW we find out that the Prince had to go through the events of Sands of Time(everyone turning into sand monsters) and then reverse time so that the Dahaka would chase him. This would force him to seek out the Island of Time and travel to the past to destroy the Sands of Time and it creator the Empress. However he didn't know that it was his destiny to create the Sands of Time by killing the Empress(btw the Empress knew all along that the Prince was the one who was going to kill him, she manipulate him and bring him into the point he supposed to kill her. She knew this because she could see into the future) and there for create the events of the first game.In the first game he stop the sands and then in the second he creates them and everything starts all over again. It was a circle. How this apply to Mephiles? He must have seen the future and manipulated everyone into playing the roles that would make the perfect future for him and Iblis to fuse perfectly just like the Empress did with the Prince. He must have told Eggman about the flames of destruction at some point in time. Silver was there because it was him who trap Iblis and to be there with Sonic on Kingdom Valley . Shadow was there because he trap Mephiles in the past and to send him into the future so he would teach Sonic how travel through time. He knew Eggman would send Sonic and friends into the future. This what cause Elise dead when the Egg Carrier crash and cause Silver future. It was the lack of Sonic in the present. So he sends Shadow into the future so he could teach Sonic the technique and he would later use this technique with Silver and save Elise and prevent Silver future. But why not teach Sonic this technique directly? Maybe he knew Sonic would suspect something was up and not play Mephiles game and like that Halloween episode of The Simpsons where Homer travel through time, and kill a bug and his future was altered, a small change in the equation and everything would have been ruined. However like Empress of PoP, Mephiles believe his destiny could not be change, that destiny was preordained. Both were wrong. The Prince will eventually find his way into the past once more and stop himself from killing the Empress and the bring her into the present and there for breaking the circle. The same goes for Sonic. Mephiles would never had thought that Sonic friends would resurrect him because he must have never saw it in the future he saw.

I know it complicated(it time travel after all) but I believe that why the events of the game happened the way they did. As for Rush and Rivals, I believe neither is canon with the console games. Unless of course the Night of Cronos ending proves me wrong. Any luck with that? Anyone? Buller?

Yeah, they need to go closer to the Mario route. Well, maybe not that camp, but somewhere like Sonic Heroes on the seriousness scale, but with more story and better dialogue, or Sonic Battle. Sonic Battle even made Amy entertaining (she went from my most hated character in the other games to my favorite as a pure comic relief type).

Ever played any of the Mario RPGs? That's the same level or humor mixed with serious that the Sonic games ideally should be--assuming Sega wants to give Sonic a story--a good story that doesn't sound like some wacky fankid's fanfiction.

Also, andy seem GameTrailer.com TV video review of the game? Pretty entertaining stuff that visually showcases some of the horror of this game such as the loading times. Ack!

Only the funniest games I've ever played, EVER. Super Mario RPG and Mario & Luigi that is. I haven't played Paper Mario or the DS Mario & Luigi sequel, though.

Mario & Luigi also has to be the first professionally published fan game I've ever played, too. That thing is like a Mario fan dream.

Spoilers (Select To Read): Koopalings (I just wish they'd been tougher)
Kamek
Geno
Dr. Mario viruses you can defeat by making them match colors
Fawful (What? He's original to the game and not a cult favorite Mario chracter? Well he is now!)

*Squeals*

I'm not sure that level of humor would work in Sonic though. The humor is very OTT and revels in camp, and that's not something Sonic has ever done, even considering that about 5 of the games have featured a silly Star Wars pun with Eggman's face on it as the ultimate weapon. Certainly, any Sonic game with writing, humor, and fanservice anywhere approaching Mario & Luigi would blow me away, but I think I'd go a bit less camp and more towards quirky in character dialog, like in Sonic Battle, but without so much of the drama of Emerl. And perhaps quite a few comedic NPCs like in the Mario RPGs. (Bokkun = Fawful?)

From what little I've played of EarthBound (I could never get past that frustrating series of battles on a hill between the 2nd and 3rd towns), that doesn't sound too far off.

Come to think of it, Fang would be a perfect fit in such a game, since he was pretty much an incompetent, comic relief version of Knuckles in Sonic Triple Trouble. And having another character like S3&K Knuckles to screw around with the player occasionally would just be fun. Though maybe Bokkun would be better at the screwing around role, while Fang could be a comic relief boss / Rouge rival along the lines of the thief in Mario & Luigi. Either way it works. I'm just getting this picture of the hero beating the boss only to promptly be pushed into another fight or level by some 3rd party interloper, or having the interloper mess up the level in some way, like switching gravity, then finally getting to beat said interloper as a boss late in the game. It's actually been a very entertaining role in a lot of games besides S3&K and the Mario RPGs (Ultros in FF6 comes to mind).

And on the subject of interlopers, this may not be entirely on topic, but I love those enemies that stalk and annoy you throughout a level, such as Zero in SA. I really would have liked a longer Amy game in SA. The concept is fun, and it gets you a lot more emotionally involved than just fighting normal enemies.

People say that Sonic Heroes was WAY too childish and babyish.
Then people say Sonic2k6 is too dark and mature.

Now, don't get me wrong, if people don't address the issues in Sonic games, Sonic Team might never get around to fixing them. I totally understand that.

Though I appreciate your Great Crusade, I'm far too 'OK' to partake in it.
Go ahead and try to fix the problem, I'm thankful some people are willing to go above and beyond normal fanmanship, but I'm, (and other people, I'm sure) are totally cool with whatever happens. Not because peeps call us "fanboys and fangirls"
But we're just OK. At least I know I am.

Problem is ST won't fix the problems because a lot of people still buy the games regardless of quality because it's now just some fandom wankery. =/
