aaaah yes... the one with nothing but Sonic and race car game music? How could I forget such introspective and thought provoking songs as...
*does random lyric search, closes eyes and Ctrl+C*
OH! Pure poetic gold here...
"Start you up, down the road you go
Hang on to your dreams, yeah
Crusin' down to the paradise
Turn the car into the wind, yeah
Crusin' down to the paradise
Turn the car into the wind, yeah"
Not all good songs have introspective or thought-provoking lyrics, last I checked. I mean, seriously, most songs don't boil down to much more than a generic "I love you", anyway.
Some of my favorite songs make no damn sense. Like the car lesson song from Parappa the Rapper. That song is Awsome. And its just sophisticated simon says.

Would you have liked to have seen Silver as a mink? That was originally one of their ideas for him. Would have certainly made him original if they had went with it. But alas, they made him a hedgehog so they could re-use the Amy gag from Sonic Adventure 2. You know the one I'm talking about.
Is Amy freaking color blind AND stupid?? Why would Sonic paint himself black and red and bend his quills all crazy? or Silver and thin his quills out? Which in most probabilities is IMPOSSIBLE.
Songs that get away with less than Shakespearean lyrics make up for (hide it?) with music. When you have stupid lyrics AND generic guitar rock you get booed of stage and the only people that buy your CD end up liking Sonic'06...
HEEeeEEeY! We're LIMO-ZEEN!
The only thing that makes cheesy 80s hair metal appropriate is if it is a band from the 80s performing it at a wedding, or if it is a spoof. Crush 40 honestly thinks they rock, and when compared to the music even in other games the modern Sonic series is, for the most part, a joke. Sonic06 had a cool song but they even added dumbass singing to that too

Nah. It's just Sonic Team has bad writers.
Rehashing ftl
Then again, Sonic does try to avoid Amy in a few exceptions.
You know, despite constantly saying about how everyone hates Crush 40, you're still the only person here complaining.
I'd also like to ask you to stop complaining... Here, anyway. A new topic's fine, but this has dragged on long enough in this particular one.
I kind of like Crush40's Sonic music. 🙁
If Cheezy here or anyone else wants to talk about how much Crush 40 does or does not rock and/or suck, I made a topic about it so you can stop doing it in this one, K?
So sad to see how Sonic has fallen from popular game to something no one will come that close.
And yet it's no Superman 64 or Bomberman: Act Zero.
Glimmers of hope here?
Kay...
I played the demo. I got an A rank after dying 5 times. Don't get me wrong it was bad, but I did enjoy it a bit. A bit like a crap version of Sonic Adventure 2 with good level design.
Edit:
PS3 Version Reviewed on 1UP for a little while. They have taken the review down for some reason but they left the average score up.

So yeah. They might have fixed the game.
7.4?! Heh, I'm optimistic again.
Well, not really. That, and I'd probably buy the game if it was 1.4. I have an incredible ability to sit through the largest amounts of crap if there's other reasons why I should. See: Painstakingly playing through Shadow eleven times.
Guys, that review was confirmed to be from a Reader's Review. In other words, far from reliable.
Nice try Sonic hopefuls! Keep on dreaming!

You'll pay $60 for an arse-tastic game? Either you have a lot of money to burn or you are a masochist.
How does a review become reliable? Isn't it just some joe's opinion of the game?
Anyway, I played the demo at Target to day.
The game looks BEAUTIFUL, it's without a doubt the greatest eye candy of a Sonic game to DATE.
Sadly, there've been no improvements in the gameplay, I'm kinda surprised they let this thing sell without fixing the bugs in it, like Sonic's clunky and sensitive motions, and the camera basically being your main advesary.
But, I had such a blast watching it, I'd give the game a 7.
Of course, this is only from a guy who played the DEMO for 4 minutes =P.

A Sonic's fanboy review of this game is even less reliable than the average review scores professional critics give this game. The latter usually compares it to other games in general that may or may not surprass it in quality.
Seeing a fanboy give this game an 8/10, when on gamerankings, this game averages a 4/10 is usually suspect.

The 3D games had glitches since the first Sonic Adventure. How can you not be surprised?
Well I never had a problem with the glitches. I don't even know they existed. o.o
"The 3D games had glitches since the first Sonic Adventure. How can you not be surprised?"
Because this was the lavished "Sonic Next Gen". Was hoping the glitches would die down a bit.
Yo, I gotta question, but don't spoil me-
Is it possible to buy all the chaos emeralds and then play Super Sonic in the regular action stages? Or are they just needed to access the "final scene"?
EDIT: Another question: Is Angel Island or the Master Emrald mentioned in this game at ALL?
Quote:

The fan hype on this game was probably inspired by the graphics that were originally released. To me, from the first demo video, I saw Sonic Adventure 3 but with even more pits, pre-scripted design, and non-whimsical robot designs that made me suspicious of the style of the game.
I saw Sonic Adventure 3 as well, but see, SA1 was a good game (flawed, sure, but damned fun); I thought it wouldn't be that hard to get back up to that level. And in some ways, they're on their way... but the fact that many other things steadily get worse goes strongly against that line of thinking.
Personally, again, I think SA had a bad idea (other than Gamma and Amy) but did it very well. SA1 was a "killer app" for Dreamcast. They knew that the game would be one of the major selling points of the system and gave the developers time and budget to polish it. SA2 came out as the system was on the way out, but it was still a selling point. Sonic Heroes was entirely 3rd party and the only profit motivation was to make high sales of a game (and higher profit by rushing it), not sell a console. This is my theory as to why the polish and testing went down while, IMO, the gameplay concepts improved dramatically in each game. So I didn't see Sonic Adventure 3 as something to look forward to, especially since the only elements I was seeing in the demo were the same mistakes, not any of the things that made SA1 fun.
No, Elias, and they may not be trying to involve the Master Emerald because the only things they can think to do with it is to shatter it or make it stop the Chaos Emeralds, which, if used at the last minute, would perhaps be a "rip-off" of SA2 in their eyes.
Or because they want Knuckles in the story as fanservice but don't want to have to actually explain why he's there.
ch, that sucks.
Knuckles needs his own game again. On Angel Island. With the Chaotix.
In 3-D.
With the return of Mecha Sonic and the Master Emerald
Without Charmy.
Blah, whatever.
So no Super Sonic in levels eh?
What are the emeralds for then?
(hiding the fact that he is very pissed off)
lmao you aren't actually hiding it if you tell people you're hiding it
Don't the emeralds you buy from the store give you different powers?
Sonic throws one of them and he follows it quickly. Destroying enemies etc. I could be wrong though.
Nope, you can get emeralds. They change the color of your shoes and give you super powers, but they don't seem to do anything together.
So the chaos emeralds went from plot device to accessory eh?
Meh. The color changing shoes sound slightly interesting- at least StH has some customization about it, that's a step in a direction I like.
IMAGINE IT! A Sonic game that's like: KoToR + Jak + Sly Cooper.
Most people here are gonna show me their tongues, but I actually like the idea.
They're not the CHAOS emeralds, last I checked; those are still plot devices.
Wait, they're not the real chaos emeralds- just regular old emeralds or something?
Chaos emeralds aren't in the game anymore?
They're not emeralds, but plain old gems used for special moves.
The chaos emeralds however:
Spoilers (Select To Read): Silver, Shadow, Mephiles, and Elise have a chaos emerald, I can't remember who else, if anyone has the others. The chaos emeralds only become the focus of the story during the last episode, where you have to collect them to bring Sonic back from the dead, because Mephiles shot him through the chest with a laser. (It makes no sense to me either)
Didn't read the spoiler, but thanks, OTB.

Geez, the loading time is worse than I thought. The hell, Sonic Team!? The hell..!?!
What's worse is that guy actually made a video over ten minutes long about the load times.
*madness loading* guy claps with delight *more madness loading*
LMAO @ loading times. They really pushed the boat out for programming, you would've thought they whole scene would've been loaded into ram just once but
*loads up cassette tapes for bbc micro faster than this*
Looks like 10 second loading times - but 14 when entering a World Map (or whatever it's called)
Tho' I admit it's pretty lame to do the loading times so much, it's not like it's TOO horrible.
For one thing, you don't have to stare at the TV the whole time, you could do something else during those precious 10 seconds, like look through a walkthrough or something.
Besides, I'm used to bad loading times. I play KotOR =P
I'm sure the PS3 version has better loading times.
The X-Box itself has slow loading times.
Except it won't, since the PS3's drive is slower than the 360's.
Plus apparently Hari Hari has the Japanese PS3 version, and the load times there suck, too.
Oh, and no, the load times are still terrible. Maybe you compare it to KotOR, but I'd rather compare them to, say, Twilight Princess or Oblivion; both load massive worlds, have all the side quests relevant loaded or otherwise load them quite promptly, and the times you actually DO see a loading screen are few and far between (though that's more Oblivion than Zelda).
Then I guess I'm happy that I've played and been content with KotOR and never played a Zelda game =P
Expectations: LOW!
So your expectations are low (though for what you never specified) because Zelda has practically immaculate loading times...?
I traded in my copy without finishing it. It's just so awful and broken. It's was mentally painful to play. I finally got sick of it and stopped playing. Now, Sega will lose a sale from me due to some other kid buying my copy.
I've made myself an ultimatum. If Sonic and the Secret Rings stinks, I'm done playing Sonic games for good (errr....except portables). I've had all I can take of this crap.
Haha, I remember the number guessing game ... QUITE annoying!
And yes, the loading for the game is THAT bad, and I personally think that's not even the most terrible area of the game.
EDIT: Shigamado, that's about precisely how it went for me. Though I haven't traded it in yet ...
My expectations for Secrets of the Rings is low, regardless of how fun it may be or seem. I'm already done with new Sonic games, but if one ever comes up worth buying (7.5 or higher in scores plz) that follows tradition, I'll definitely get my hands on it.

Maybe what he is trying to say is because he is fortunate enough that he doesn't play a lot of games made by competent programers, that he is even able to digest games that goes beyond vomit status? I don't know...
Did SA X have stupidly long loading times in missions also? It just seen as a sign of poor programing and in this day and age and on next gen systems when you need to load for when a character says "Congrats" and then load for another banal comment afterwords.
I couldn't remember any extra loading times in SA: DXDC Mission mode. I think there was just a slight pause in gameplay when you accepted and completed a mission.
I watched half a 10 minute video (GO 56K!)in You Tube showcasing Aristol's Challenge. You know that feeling when you think everyone is being a bit OTT on something until you expirence something for yourself. It was like that for me. The loading times are truly terrible. And frequent.
I'll find the link and post it.

Twilight Princess is a GameCube game, so of course it loads fast on the Wii. And yes I'm referring to the Wii version.

Err...I just posted the link several respones ago. In fact, that was what we have been discussing all this time.
I need more sleep.

What machine it is shouldn't affect anything. The 360 is perfectly capable of such load times as well; hence, using Oblivion as an example.
Isn't Gears of War's loading times seemingly fast also?
Holy crap @ that video. I never expected it to be THAT ridiculous. The mini-game is complete crap anyway, and could be done in a simple text answer format. The only thing that even makes it challenging is the camera that doesn't let you look at the entire stack. Was SEGA intentionally trying to see how bad they could make a game and have it sell? Loading a map just to say "Correct" is just so stupid that it doesn't seem possible that anybody could think it was a good idea.
