I somehow managed to get an S Rank on Solaris first try.
Silver's part in End Of The World was very painful.
I got this game a few days ago, and my first impression has mostly been said here already by others like minded, but as the days go on I find myself playing it more often. I hate the cut-scenes, the hub town and the missions, to me that brings the game down way too much. But some of the levels can be fun, which is why I just use the act select when playing Sonic's levels now, less crap to deal with.
Also, he was the last character I wanted to play as but I was strangely surprised at Silver's gameplay, it was almost what I'd call... fun! Hell SEGA should've just made a game about a guy with telekenesis, looks like they might've had something good there... just maybe.
So I "was" enjoying Silver's game more than the others, until I got to that bit where you have to move the ball around without dropping it down the five or so holes. SO MUCH PAIN! >_< Tell me there's a way to hack that part, like if you scratch the disc is in the right places you don't need to go through with it. It's like the nightmare of escort missions.
I was stuck on the ball thingy for close to an hour. I didn't have anything else to do so I just trying, and when I did beat it I felt like crying with joy.
Come on, I can't be the only person to do that successfully on my first try. There's a pile of sand in the first corner that you can use to curve the ball around the bend instead of using a second hit.
Now, the deal with the silver blob-ball in Aquatic Base, that was pain condensed...
Actually getting the ball to curve around the corner is the easy part for me as I just blast it there in one hit from the start, the long stretch home is the hard part. Although I have managed to get it close to the end, that last hole is quite tricky to get past.
I seem to be the only person in the world who absolutely despised Silver's levels above everything else. I mean, Sonic's and Shadow's levels were bad, but Silver's just seemed to destroy my will to live sometimes. For example, defeating an enemy comes down to looking for something to throw, throwing it, waiting for it to respawn and repeating.
I really hated those levels. =/
But when you buy the Shock Bracelet you can do that ground slam that paralyses foes, allowing you to pick them up and throw them. You can actually do it before buying that, by using the throw button (when Silver's not holding anything, you know - he yells 'hah!') if you get close enough, but it's way better when you can just use the psycho slam thing. Anyway, it means that you don't need to have an object nearby to defeat enemies.
I was watching the Final story again on you tube last night and in between wishing I could do Dan Green's evil laugh and weeping for all the wrong reasons at *that* scene, I think I noticed something.
Super Sonic's arms appear to be yellow rather than peach. Is this my crappy monitor at play or have they changed it?
It's just the way they did the Super effect. It makes all three of them look a bit too yellow.
Sorry for resurrecting a topic that hasn't been posted to in some time but I was thinking about the Last Story:
Spoilers (Select To Read): Eggman said Solaris is a "transcendent being" who must be defeated in the past, present and future. So I was wondering, were Sonic/Shadow/Silver fighting him in different time periods; or was Solaris destroyed in the future by Blaze (thru the permanent sealing of Iblis), defeated in the present by the Super team, and finally wiped from existence by Elise in the past?

Spoilers (Select To Read): I think they were fighting Solaris in both the past, present, and future, but I learned not to think too much on any Sonic story.
