Chuck (the professor, who is his grandfather?) probably keeps regular contact with Chris, helping him build a Chaos Control machine. I missed much of Sonic X, but managed to catch a very few episodes.

ACK! I'd say I upload two reviews yesterday, but completely forgot! Well, here they are...

Sonic X, Episode 48: The Volcanic Venture or...The misadventures of Sonic, Knuckles, Rouge, Tails, and useless CHRIS Throndyke.
I felt the need to continue capitalizing Chris name as this is Part 2 of the Murasian tribe searching thing. We get our usual Last Time on Sonic X and the usual theme song before the heroes manage to make it to the small island of Murasia by small rubbery raft boat. There the Bruce Lee fan clubs are busy arguing with Topaz for letting fat man, Eggman escape. Topaz dont need to take this crap and leaves in a huff. Chuck, noticing the fight and Topaz leaving suggests Tanaka do something about it. Tanaka, with no hesitation, does his thang.
Tanaka and Topaz are now in a beach setting where both remain silent with Tanaka heavily blushing. Instead of making his gal pal feel better, he ends up smashing rocks which ends up hurting his hand. Thats soooooooooome way of dealing with feelings with the opposite gender you like, smashing stuff. Better keep the testosterone level in check.
Back to the others, Tails suggest using his X-Tornado to find the Murasian cities. Sonic joins in as does Knuckles. Red pulls quite a tiny bit of shocker for me by asking Rouge to come along when he has long since resisted (or tries to resist) the voluptuous bat which he will also do (as in resist her, ya sickos) in this episode. Rouge comes along, as she probably would have for the treasures held in the Murasian lost cities. And of course, wherever Sonic goes, CHRIS is certainly not far behind.
Eggman is already going about his plans as he slowly descends down the hot volcano from his Eggmobile. The two robot cronies doubt Eggman once again with Bokkun shutting the two up, who happens to have more faith in his mustached master then any of them bucket of bolts. Eggman lets loose some tank wheels on his EggMobile and they drive their way to locate said hotspot.
Meanwhile, the heroes volunteering to go find Murasia cities found themselves blocked with a dead end inside a deep tunnel cavern. Rouge suggests Eggman covered it up. Sonic doesnt bother using his head and spin dashes before Knuckles smacks him verbally that his spin dash is causing a cave-in. Soon, the heroes find a crack and Sonic, Knuckles, and Rouge explore while Tails and CHRIS plays the eyes in the skies.
We get some rather hilarious scenes with Sonic, Knuckles, and Rouge making their way: Them climbing down a narrow hole only for Rouge to trip and crash land on the other two, walking over a narrow bridge with one slip ending up in a fiery death (why doesnt Knuckles just glide and Rouge just fly?), to Knuckles digging a way with his shovel claws, and ultimately crossing water (Knuckles said swim, pah, they just merely wade water that goes up to their head) with Sonic and Rouge being reluctant (Sonic more so then Rouge). He ends up being pulled in by Knuckles who doesnt give a flying flip if they leave Rouge whos rather offended and joins.
Eventually, the heroes find the lost city and quite a jungle-y setting it is. Dr. Cadbury speaks to them via communicator of some sort and mentions the Rumanian (hehehehehe, dirty jokes, anyone?); metal created by the Murasians. He also explains that while they look to be outside, theyre still located underground and an artificial sky was created. You can obviously see some stalactites (or is it stalagmites, I never know) from the sky. Tails and CHRIS soon join in their X-Tornado, that big, ugly machine somehow fitting through the caves. The heroes go off on their own. Rouge is especially thrilled when she sees a whole pile of gems. Diamonds are a girls best friend, eh?
Meanwhile, Eggman (who also manage to find his way into the lost city) is explained by Bokkun that he is hungry. Eggman joins the club, so he forces his robot slaves-I mean, buddies, to look for food. The robots protest for a good few seconds, saying Bokkun should do the job. Bokkun mentions how he could easily be eaten. Eggman surprisingly agrees and claims the two as terribly bad for eating that he sends them. Losing yet another argument with Eggy, the two goes off to find food.
The robots search the vast tall grasses, finding a giant, orange slug before stumbling upon a giant cherry. They rush over to the giant cherry which could easily help solve world hunger, but instead grab it for a man who shouldnt be eating anymore then he is now. Imagine their surprises when the two robots see the so-called cherry really is part of an antennae belonging to a giant moth. The two make a run for it. Apparently, giants are normal in Murasia as World 4 is of Super Mario Bros. 3. As the two run, they run into the heroes and CHRIS. CHRIS decides to play hero and NOT act like a useless git for once and aims a rock at the moth, trying to distract it. The moth gives chase and CHRIS and the two robots slide down the grassy plains and right to Eggman. Eggman, mighty piss for the lack of food quickly changes his attitude when he eyes Chris who now is being held hostage.
Eggman takes Chris as he finds the hotspot, but as the journey continues, small trembles begin. Dr. Cadbury notices its the volcano ready to erupt. The heroes had better get their asses in gear if they wanna survive! While Bokkun busies himself (as in playing with it) atop a dino statue, Eggman tells CHRIS and his robot goons that he has finally found the hotspot. He gots himself some acme TNT and gives 10 minutes before things go kablooey and he brings about the End of the World. Again, Eggman, wont it be terribly boring to rule the world when the chances of human survival due to continent sinkings will be zero?
The trembles get worse and it ends up causing a giant gold robot to come. Bokkun is the first to see it and get chased by it. Its also pretty durn big and certainly more then a match for anything Eggman builds. CHRIS decides to play hero once again and takes the bomb and runs off with it, hoping to lure the giant gold beaked robot tank thing. Sonic and the others try to stop the robot for now, but not even power rings could smash that thing. I can only imagine Eggman getting his hands on that thing, the results would be catastrophic. Speaking of fat man, he split, leaving the two robots alone to die, which the two are obviously not happy about.
CHRIS wonders what he can do, but the solutions come with the robot cronies explaining how they can fuse and transform into an all powerful being. CHRIS demands they do that now and they do. Nothing happens. Apparently, it was all just a fantasy the two had. Worse comes to worse when the giant gold robot splits the cronies in pieces with its tail. CHRIS is shocked, but before he can mourn, he races towards Sonic and gives him the bomb, letting him handle the problem. Knuckles and Rouge distracts the giant gold robot long enough for Sonic to place the bomb inside gold robots mouth which explodes when the timer counted down. With THAT threat out of the way, Tails quickly remains the heroes to get their butts movin unless they wanna end up like the people in Pompeii...and Murasia.
As sunset comes, the heroes are now aboard the yacht as they watch the island. Rouge is happy that she has a diamond from Murasia which Dr. Cadbury quickly takes. He said Rouge can come see it in a museum anytime she wishes. A disappointed Rouge really wished she didnt join the government so she could swipe it.
CHRIS speaks with Sonic that the robot buddies saved his life. Saved his life? How? The two talked and ended up getting hit to pieces. They didnt even remotely save CHRIS. Sheesh. Any who, the heroes mourn, but lo and behold, the two robots come to the yacht, good as new (as in, theyre the same as before) and touched on the moving speech given to them. All is happy for them and the heroes and even more so when the robots join the good side, sick and tired of getting stepped on by Eggman like theyre a couple of rugs (and I doubt ANYONE would want THAT).

REVIEW:
I was a bit surprised; surprised that the developers decided useless CHRIS should actually be useful, namely throwing a rock to the moth and giving the bomb to Sonic. Namely, the rock only lead CHRIS into more trouble and once again, kidnapped, which he is a victim of as much as Amy and maybe even more so (I lost count), but at least he redeems that in the second one by handing Sonic the bomb. Im glad the developers actually decided to make him do something unlike last episode where he was such a useless lump. It, however, still boggles me that Sonic and friends would rather take CHRIS who probably needs to be rescued more then him fighting when they couldve taken Amy Rose who, while being kidnapped as constantly as CHRIS, would at least have the upper hand by fighting with a giant mallet. This is truly an annoyance I have with CHRIS. The developers think CHRIS should be sent to adventure then someone else, no matter HOW useless he is. Im thankful he actually did something at all in this episode, so I give him a fair amount of credit, but hes constant stealing of the show, mostly ones not catered to him, is just pissing me. If the episode was solely based on CHRIS, I doubt Id be complaining much...maybe, depending, I suppose. Any who, in short, slight annoyance, but glad he did something.
Animations were fine with some mishaps here and there. The robots got some nice screen time and we really see them rebelling and joining the other sides after episodes and episodes full of them getting verbally and physically abused by Eggman. Kudos, robot buddies, shame it doesnt last long.
And I still failed to see an explanation of the two green lights from last episode, whether it was from Eggman or not. That sucks.

OTHERS:
~I hate my computer and it hates me
~Did anyone see Knuckles and Amy Rose together, side-by-side during the ending of this episode when they were on the yacht? GLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!
~How DOES Sonic tolerate glomp master CHRIS?...Then again, he survived Amy.

Moral of the Episode: The world isnt ready for a useful CHRIS Thorndyke.

Sonic X, Episode 49: The Day the Earth Stood Still (Japanese title since I dont know the American one) or Chris slowly, but surely descend into insanity.
A lovely day in the Thorndyke residence as the two robots work, busy as bees. They dont mind working as they are given good treatment. All is right in the world. Chris comes running from school. As he heads for the front door, the robots inform Chris that his parents are here. Chris takes note and head on inside while the robots continue their chore, including filling up the ditch they dug which Tanaka doesnt notice and trips.
After the familiar theme song, Eggman gives Bokkun their food for today: cooked tree stump with unnatural purple filling. Bokkun is absolutely disgusted and cries for the two robots back whos food were at least tolerable. Eggman, being the stubborn old man he is, refuses.
Meanwhile, the Thorndyke residences and friends are serving high quality food as they are having some sort of back yard BBQ picnic. Like the robots said, Chris parents are there, wearing T-shirts with freedom written on it. They are apparently all supporting the Freedom movement, whatever the hell that is. Tanaka then informs Chuck that he has a phone call from the prez. He goes inside and has a chat with prez who informs him, one old man to another, that Project Homebound is underway.
Meanwhile, night time comes and Sam Speed is driving his formula one racing car as he chases after a criminal breaking the speed limit. The criminal remains stubborn and drives on. As he chases after, Sam keeps thinking about Sonic and how he was the only one to best him. The criminal drives to the point where he crashes to the side of the bridge and the vehicle he is riding on falls of...with him in it. Luckily, out of sheer coincidence, Sonic rescues the person before his car could crash. With that said, Sam challenges Sonic for another race, one hes glad to do. So, the two blast off, leaving the criminal alone with no ride home. For some unknown reason, the bridge hes on is unusually empty. As Sonic runs with Sam, he leaps off the bridge and eyes the citys bright lights as he did in the first episode.
Still night time, Chris is busy with his homework, thinking of an essay about what hes dream is. He eventually gets an idea which involves him writing, obviously about Sonic. He then has memories of Sonic and when he first met him. He even hears a splash in the swimming pool and goes over to see if Sonic has landed there as he did before, but its just a cat.
Meanwhile, a Dr. Kim Bakely comes in to the Thorndyke resident with the prezs secretary. There Dr. Kim starts talking about a serious matter. She explains that Sonics world and Chris world were once the same, but has since split with each unaware of the others existence. The two plan to join together, causing a disrupt in the space time continuum that would cause all time to be frozen. Dang, I kinda was hoping for a more End of the World approach, but oh, well. The only choice they really have left is sending Sonic and friends back to their world. A vase breaks, causing the meeting to be interrupted. The adults turn around and sees Chris who was responsible for this. The parents dont bother telling Chris to clean up the vase (they have a butler, duh), but are shocked he heard everything. Chris isnt all that excited about the news of Sonic going away. Chuck tries to tell his grandson, but Chris denies and thinks Eggman is doing this. His parents wonder as well, but Chuck isnt all that fooled and informs Chris that it is hard to accept, but Sonic and pals must go. Chris, once again denies, saying Sonic is needed to save the world and thats the reason he should stay (yea, right, kid, I know the TRUE reason why you want him in your world), and he runs off, carrying his denial with him.
Tails, who was with the adults in their meeting helps Chuck pick up the broken vase. Chris parents doesnt seem to wanna help and just lets an old man do all the job. What kind of a son are you, Nelson Throndyke!? As Chuck and Tails picks up the pieces, Chuck explains how frozen time is a gift as he can eternally explore and uncover new scientific discoveries, but also a curse. What is the point of time being frozen? Where is the fun and excitement, not to mention, meaning of discovering new things in a time where everyday is the same? How boring, how pointless. Chuck explains it all and ultimately wishes Tails good-bye. Deep.
Chris continues to run out in the middle of the city until he ends up finding the robot cronies who is coming home with groceries. Chris has been searching for them both and he ask them to take him to Eggman. The two robots arent happy one bit on doing that, but they decide to help out Chris, a friend. They decide the only way to find Eggman, however, is to call Bokkun. So, with silver robot climbing on top of gold robot, they bat signal Bokkun who immediately comes and is pissed to see the robot cronies. After much debating, the robots decide to cook Bokkun and Eggman a delish meal in exchange for Bokkun to take Chris to Eggman. Its a done deal and the plot moves forward.
In the Thorndyke residences, Chris parents are besides themselves in worry. Nelson constantly said hell call the cops and stuff (which he never does throughout this entire episode), but Chuck informs them that Chris should go to wherever hes going: Eggmans, which worries the parents even further. Chuck informs that hearing Eggman, hearing him NOT plan the time frozen would stop Chris and his denial. Itll take quite a miracle for that to happen, old man.
Chris is no sooner taken to Eggman whos busying himself making his own cartoon: Eggman X to sell to a TV company or at least coming his life long dream: A comic strip of his childhood days. Oh, wouldnt that be entertaining? Eggman is none too please to see the two robots, even if they did brought Chris as hostage. The robots inform them they aint here to come back, but merely because Chris wanted to be brought to Eggman. Intrigued, Eggster asks why. Chris lashes out and explains Eggman of the whole time frozen shenanigan. Eggman now wished he thought of the plan and even joins in the little charade and claims he did it...just to poke fun at the poor boy. Of course, eventually, he tells Chris he had no part in the time frozen thingy and now goes out and makes the boy feel more miserable and less sane by saying how Sonic leaving will crush him into itty bitty pieces. Chris leaves, crying like the crybaby he is, leaving Eggman who sincerely says his farewells to the boy.
The parents continue to act useless as they wait for their boy instead of doing something, but Chris comes home, safe and sound. Relieved, Chris explains hes alright and continues putting up the best fake smile he has ever put on. He truly does have his mothers acting skills, the blonde ditz doesnt seem to notice his son is faking it. I mean, COME ON, he is SO faking his happiness!
Chuck and Tails head upstairs where the two chat. They are searching for Chaos Emeralds to work with the transporter they must make. To cause Chaos Control to send Tails and the others home. Two more emeralds needs to be found, so Tails is still staying for some time.
Chris is sent to his room where his parents say he can sleep in tomorrow. Chris shows off his fake happiness, closes the door, stares out the window, and mourns for his Sonic. Speaking of the blue blur, hes busy running around the canyons when he stops and thought he heard Chris. Oh, GAWD, a psychic connection. What next? Their souls inter-linking and possessing their abilities? SONIC, INTO MY BACKPACK! SOUL SPIRIT!!! Good Gawd. Any who, Sonic doesnt bother thinking of hearing Chris as he sees something red glowing on the canyon.

REVIEW:
90% of all the Sonic X fans hate Chris to a bloody pulp. They hate him so much that Im sure a life size voodoo is made in their closet. They mostly give pretty good reasons why he is hated, mostly the spotlight hogging one. I know I dont like it. Yet, with me thinking during my time off the internet (which refuses to work for me as of this typing), Im reminded of another character that is hated as much as Chris, but in most cases, its for the most stupidest reason ever: Tracey Sketchit of Pokemon fame or Kenji if you perfer his original Japanese name.
Now, let me say this; I LIKE Tracey Sketchit. Hes my favorite human cast of Pokemon and that is saying a LOT when I dont care for much of the Poke-cast (Ash being on the top of my list as the most hated character and I dont hate a lot of character), but hes grown on me: nice, sweet, artistic, other then sometimes pointing out the obvious, I like him a whole lot.
When I see this Chris centered episode, his behavior and reaction is enough to continue the 90% of the Chris haters to continue hating him. I mean, its pretty damn easy to see WHY he should be hated in this episode: hes being absolutely selfish. He claims he doesnt want Sonic to go because the world would be in trouble without him. Correction, the world was in trouble because Eggman was always there, and even before then, the world has had it's share of problems and will continue to do so. He, too, will go back to Sonics world. He and Sonic share a rivalry, Eggman wouldnt be happy without someone to constantly fight with and I know he knows it. Besides, I bet he misses his home as well. Its more then obvious Chris wants Sonic to stay because he likes Sonic, a lot. He wants Sonic, if not all to himself. Yes, he is acting selfish and even runs off, crying over his business and thinking whether the furries want to go home or not (and most likely, they probably want to). I was easily annoyed by it, but yet I surprisingly didnt wanted to grab the TV screen and yell at Chris for his behavior, and why is that: Because his reactions are COMPLETELY normal.
Hes behavior, his reaction is exactly someone as emotional as Chris would do, all to the point where he selfishly denies that this natural cause of time and space was created by no one or anything BUT Eggman. He even runs out to speak with Eggman and its through mustache man that he finds the truth that he wasnt involved. That hit Chris RIGHT smack dab in the heart because the truth hurts, it hurts like hell. And it didnt help that Eggman further emphasized Chris emotions by telling him off his problems with Sonic leaving. Hes taking it MUCH worse then he did in episode 26 where, by then, it wasnt really a schedule of them being sent back, it just happen, and even then, it only caused two worlds into one. By the end of the show, he enters the last stage by pretending to be happy about this, pretending to be fine with all this. Its DAMN obvious that hes pretending to be cheery and all is good in the world. We know hes obvious cant deal with this, but he decides in the end to try not to be selfish, but instead wear a mask to hide what hes truly feeling: Mis-freakin erable. That boys gone through some stages in this episode alone:

1.) Fine, normal, happiness
2.) Anger
3.) Denial
4.) Selfishness
5.) Sad
6.) Faker
7.) Slight insane

And hes not even an angst teenager yet! So, while Chris has bothered me so many damn times, this IS his episode, so he gets the spotlight, but more importantly, they developed him and made him react quite appropriately. I doubt Chris will just wave and smile saying, Well, I guess thats that, see ya, Sonic, bye. No, not after all theyve been through. His reactions may be selfish and annoying, but it was appropriate and this is coming from someone who doesnt care much for Chris. But seriously, what was UP with that psychic connection though?

OTHERS:
~Bokkun Signal, how freakin awesome
~Man, Chris be headin to loony bin!
~Sonic and Chris sharing a psychic link, good lord. It amazes me Sonic has more connections with Chris whom hes known for about a year then he does with his good buddy Tails whom hes known MUCH longer, well, one assumes.
~Monkey...
~Whos Line is it? = One Great Show. So is Teen Titans.

Moral of the Episode: Chris, you so crazy.

If you've followed the new season that aired in France recently, you'd know that the writers managed to redeem Chris in just about everyone's eyes. By doing exactly the opposite of what they did with him here: put him more in the background, giving him something useful to do (help Tails, invent gadgets) and seriously tone down the emotional outbursts until needed.

...

Remember, I said if.

Well, I'd refrain from elaborating further, that's what the other thread is for.

But it's mainly because I have a job now. Any mistakes in these two reviews, I'll fix tomorrow, it's WAY late over here...

Sonic X, Episode 50, Morning of Farewells or The heart felt warm goodbye only hindered by actiony scene for the first 15 minutes.
After the usual Last Time on Sonic X and the theme song, a gentle, quiet scene plays as the president announces to everyone out there listening on Sonic and friends leaving. As the prezs words continue, Amy, Vanilla, Cheese, and Cream sleep soundly in bed. Tails and Chuck are busying themselves on the portal machine to send them home, and little Chris is eyeing the swimming pool where he rescued Sonic 49 episodes ago. The prezs word stops to see Chris facing Sonic who is just across, coming and stopping from his usual run. The little blue blur offers Chris a chance to run with him, but the kid sadly declines. The presidents words continue as the scene pass and I marvel at the rather beautiful, soft colorings (as well as this whole scene) the animators did. I wish they did this more often.
Breakfast comes next with Amy saying theres an advantage of having time frozen; itll keep her ever so youthful and lacking in wrinkles. Cream counters saying itll be the end of birthdays and presents. Kid, as you get older, youll understand birthday parties just aint something youll be hyped up on. But then again, I was never a party person to begin with and this could be my oh-so charming cynical, pessimistic personality shining through again.
Chris quickly interrupts whatever they were going to say next and immediately head for school with his parents waving goodbye. In school, Chris human friends are none to happy with the soon absence of Sonic and friends. Helen comments on how lonely itll get. Umm...lonely?! Kid, theres three other people standing RIGHT next to you. I think you meant, It wont be the same, then lonely. Unless youre isolated on a desert island, you aint gonna be alone for a while.
Meanwhile, in the gov. military HQ, Basher isnt all too pleased with Sonic and friends leaving. Dont take it as a good thing, he downright hates them furries and wants to kick them in their furry keisters from here to Kingdom Come. After getting word from one his agent that Eggman is up to something (hes building a chip of some sort), Basher unleashes all hell.
In mere seconds, many GUN robots flood the sky and head for the jungle continent that came as a result of Chaos Control 24 episodes back. Immediately they attack Eggman and his two robot cronies who are stuck working for fatman once again. Sonic comes to their rescue and offers his help. The robots immediately consider it, but Eggman remains stubborn and refuses. Awww, come on, Eggy. As Sonic destroys the robots aiming for Eggy, agents surround the White House, preventing anyone from getting in and anyone from getting out, which means the prez is basically in house arrest in his own royal palac-er-I mean, home. Scarlet, who wants to know what the dealio is with the army Basher sent, is rather suspicious the agents refuse anyone to come in. Interviews with Agent Smith lookalike doesnt exactly help Scarlet either.
Luckily Topaz and Double S are on the case. Rouge, too, is involved as she is sneaking into the White Houses air ducts. As soon as she comes out of it, Knuckles no sooner literally breaks in with his shovel claw. The two are stuck working together, just for the hell of it.
Meanwhile, Eggman and his robot buddies enter their home. With a push of a button, their home turns into three separate airship parts which combines into one and SERIOUSLY kicks Bashers robots to dust. Sonic merely shrugs while Eggman constantly eggs on Sonic (no pun intended) on how he doesnt need help.
Meanwhile, Rouge and Knuckles enter the Oval Officer and dem be all attackin dem agents and kickin their booties. The prez is safe and Topaz is relaxed. They then discuss the use of Chaos Control to go home with Rouge siding on Sonic while Knuckles quickly blaming the hedgehog for the reason they were in this world. Ouch, kinda harsh, aint ya, Knux? I thought we got pass all this. Either way, the heroes must go home. Oh, and Basher is arrested. Sucks to be you, badly named military man.
After the commercial, the furries, Chris (dressed all nicely), and his servants (Ella dressed nicely) head out (with the original blue Tornado that Ive come to love, I MISSED YOU!!! NO FUGLY X-TORNADO EVER!!!!). Chris parents watch from afar, respecting Chris wish to not come with him, only to disrespect it by going out to wherever theyre heading in secret. Ooh, I love undercover work!
The portal Tails and Chuck built is standing in the middle of a road in a misty setting. Apparently, they dont seem to give a damn that they might be causing traffic. Aside from the furries, Chris, his parents, and their servants; Topaz, Chris human friends, and Scarlet and Double S (the latter two watching from a cliff) are all present. Tails operates the machine (with help from Eggmans chip from earlier, how he got it, dont ask me), but unfortunately with only little amount of five something Chaos Emeralds, the power isnt enough. Sonic comes to the rescue with the red emerald he found. Tails immediately uses it and the portal works. The -ky animals immediately get sucked in and we can naturally assume furries like Big and the Chaotix also made their way in. Eggman heads in next, his big ass airship somehow fitting into that portal, then the portal dies down again. Damn machinery. What good are you for?!
During this time, Sam Speed comes and immediately leaves in like 2 seconds. As he speeds away, he knows hell never have another competitor like Sonic. The rest are pretty shock at his sudden appearance, then disappearance, but understands in the end.
Tails tries again to work out the machine and with ARKs help, the machine powers up again in all light blue glowiness. The people whos never watched the original will probably guess why ARK suddenly would help. Heck, Id be, too if I wasnt informed many months back, so Ill give you a clue: Shadow and Mariadead Shadow and MariaI think. You decide. So, with that fixed, Tails cheers in victor. Chuck, who was nearby smiles at his accomplishments, but his smile soon turns upside down as he hugs the little fox and says his good-bye. Tails, too gets teary. Cream, Vanilla, and Cheese make their final goodbyes to the human kids. Cream is especially happy that she was given a crown of flowers by them, then gets teary eyed. Amy says her good-byes to Ella and Tanaka. Ella hands Amy a small cactus plant and her recipe books. Another tearjerker moment. Soon, Tails (aboard his Tornado), Cream, Cheese, Vanilla, and Amy (with suitcase) enter the portal.
Rouge gives Topaz a round, green gem, saying she got it for him, because she thought it remained her of Topaz. Topaz is very pleased and in mere seconds, Rouge, too enters the portal with that smug grin shes famous for. While Rouge may have handled it well, Topaz is bawling like no tomorrow, but boy toy Tanaka is there for comfort. Sonic and Knuckles gets close to the portal. Knuckles speaks with Sonic, relieved that theyre finally going home. Red enters and Sonic is up next. Meanwhile, Scarlet and Double S flirt. Ooooooooooooooooh.
Now its Chris time to say his good-byes with his parents watching from afar, pretty damn confident that Chris will do the right thing and let him go. After some awkward good-byes, Sonic slowly makes his way to the portal. Tension rises in the boys body and just inches from the portal, Chris stops Sonic by shutting it off. Shock is the ultimate emotions going round here, but none more then Sonic himself...

REVIEW:
This episode would have easily garnered a perfect 10. I mean, the last 15 minutes were filled with emotions and teary moments that as I was typing this, I was near tears myself. I felt the same when I was watching it as well. After all, its good-bye. The humans and furries depart with one another, each having their own personal friends: Tails and Chuck, Cream and the kids, Amy with Ella, Rouge with Topaz, etc. Each of them acted the way Id expect them to. Cream was rather upset on leaving which is what I expect of her, crying the most out of all the furries. Tails gives his tears, but doesnt outright bawl as hes matured enough to hold back as does Amy. Rouges expression was priceless. Shes definitely not the type to cry, let along shed a tear. She instead just acts like her smug and tough girl self, but you can tell Topaz means a lot to her. Infact, so much that I wouldnt mind if the animators made Rouge drop a single tear as she turned her back on Topaz and walked to the portal. I actually would have liked to see that. Hiding her tears from Topaz or some sorta of emotion. But either way is fine. Knuckles aint the type to cry and with exceptional with Hawk, there is no one human he really connected with. So hes leave was pretty appropriate, but after all the times hes been more sociable, Id expect Knuckles to wave a short good-bye or something. Oh, well. Naturally Sonic would be smiling all the way, its his style, his thing. The humans behaved in their own appropriate manners, too. I was must surprised by Chuck who never cried at all and never seem the type, but it didnt feel awkward. I guess its because he already showed his caring Grandfather side.
With so much emotions, it was mainly ruined by the first 15 minutes of the show which mainly involved a rather hasty plot with Basher. It didnt feel like anything but useless when those 15 minutes or so could have been used for more emotional good-byes or thoughts. Its hard to accept the beautiful beginning (which had some terrific animations) when Basher is doing some pointless crap. Knuckles entering the White House also puzzles me. Why does he? Does he do it just for the last go of saving the people of this planet or was he informed by the government? If its the directors way of emphasizing Rouge/Knuckles again, its as bad as episode 17...well, slightly good as the two actually have some interaction. Tails also getting Eggmans chip is left unexplained as well.
Other then that first set of 15 minutes, little plot hole with ARK because they skipped out the Shadow/Maria thing, and some blah animations in a few spots, an emotionally well done episode. And on the concept of Chris, well, Ill fully explain in episode 51 review, but its kinda normal for him to do something like this, although dangerously selfish.

Sonic X, Episode 51: Chris Long Journey or The Selfish Adventures of Chris Throndyke and Sonic in the second to last episode which this episode wouldnt even existed if Chris sent Sonic to his home in last episode in the first place.

A rather LONG Last Time on Sonic X, except this time, we dont have annoying announcers voice whos right up there with Davis from Digimon 2 (who not only has an annoying voice, but IS annoying). After nearly like 50 gazillion minutes of the previous episode showcase, the theme song starts.
Chris stops the machine by pulling a lever and quickly takes Sonics hand, then makes like a banana and splits. They go pass tall trees with Sonic, still in shock, half dragged, half following. Sonic then gets it together, smiles, then gets ahead of Chris, still holding each others hand. Chris is rather shocked Sonic is playing along with his rather hastily, if not stupid plan and I know the kid knows it stupid.
Tanaka and Topaz did a quick search, but Chris and Sonic are nowhere to be found. Chriss parents are dangerously upset.
Making their way to the city, Chris wonders what to do and where to go. Sonic doesnt give a flyin flip where, hes already been everywhere. Chris soon spots a bike and not caring if its stolen or not, rides it. The bike belongs to a kid, by the way. There, Chris rides with Sonic behind him, relaxing as always. They make it out to a desert highway where Chris is sweating and ready to collapse with a stroke. Sonic doesnt seem to give a flyin flip that Chris is killing himself. I gotta give the kid props though, he manage to bike his way ALL the way to the desert highway with the city not seen for miles. Thats bound to be the #1 way to lose all feelings in your legs come morning time.
As they walk along a railroad track, Chris asks an all important question: Will Sonic forget him if he left? Sonic bluntly answers with a no. Besides, who can forget someone who always seems to get him (Sonic) into trouble? Heh
Chris and Sonic enter a diner and order food with money being little problem since Chris is freakin rich. There, Chris wonders where they should go. Again, Sonic doesnt care. Hell go wherever Chris does. They best be movin as the diners TV reports the news of Chris and Sonic missing. Lindsey adds her piece by dramatically crying out for her son. Lady, you need to spend some time OFF the camera. Chris whips out a map and decides where to move it.
After eating, Chris once again rides his bike with Sonic in tow. Unfortunately for the little kid, three helicopters, all belonging to his pops, comes nearer after him. Knowing a bike wouldnt get them far, Sonic speeds off and stops a pick-up truck, asking for a lift. Ahh, like a true hitchhiker. Sonic somehow decides carrying Chris is not an option. Hey, why not? You already lifted up things too heavy for ya when I think its really Knuckles department. Note the sarcasm, folksunless I pointed out the obvious. Any who, Chris rides next to the driver while Sonic relaxes in the back with hay. The truck drives off and the helicopter stops giving chase. Apparently, the driver doesnt watch much news, giving a ride to Sonic when he should be home by now.
The truck dumps the two off at a forest. There, the two brave waterfalls and long hills. Chris is more then eager to get up to wherever he was going, leaving a confused Sonic who follows behind. When Chris stops, Sonic wonders where he stopped at and is in huge surprise. Chris let him to a location hes never ran to before. Now the thing Sonic wonders if how does Chris know of this place?
Meanwhile, back in the Thorndyke mansion, Lindsey is bawling like crazy while an angry Nelson is sending his employees and any tie-ins he has to keep searching for Chris. Chuck enters and is pissed as aeryak in heat! He immediately gets Nelson off the phone and shuts Lindsey and her blabbering mouth up. Chuck explains Chris wants to be found and that those two, his parents, should really be searching for him, not sending their employees. In short, Chuck sez theyre bad parents. Thats gotta be killer for your ego.
Back in the nice forest area with the huge lake and cabin, Chris explains that its his summer house. His family used to come all the time, but soon, just stopped. Perhaps the vast amount of work caused them to do so. Any who, Chris cant open the lock inside, but Sonic has no problem. Night soon falls and Chris gathers firewood, tripping and nearly dropping the whole lot if not for Sonic.
After a fire is created, the two remain silent. Chris breaks it by asking why Sonic refuses to talk. Sonic was merely waiting for Chris to say something first. Chris asks why Sonic followed him from the portal? Oh, geez, I dont know, kid, ya kinda dragged him to begin with. Sonic answers, saying he wanted to. Chris asks if Sonic will go or stay. Sonic ultimately makes it clear that it doesnt matter, as long as he can run. So he becomes lazy and lets Chris decide whether he should go or stay. Chris is conflicted with this hard matter. Sonic said he owes it to him since he was saved by Chris himself from the pool. After seeing that flashback when Sonic was saved by Chris, the little spiky haired boy takes great offense. So, was Sonic only friends because he was saved? A pretend? Just because he was being owed? Sonic quickly responds, saying that is absolutely freakin wrong, saying he thinks Chris is a great friend, no matter how much hes kidnapped or glomped. Hes basically male Amy Rose. Hell, theyre even the same age. Spooky.
Chris, at this point, is frightfully teary. He now admits how selfish hes been (about time) and how as a small child (what IS it with anime and making characters look EXACTLY the same when they were younger, how about more diversity!?....On the plus side, Little Chris is pretty durn adorable), he has been waiting for friends to come. How lonely he was. Apparently, Chris mustve been hit in the head so many times as the names Danny, Frances, and Helen doesnt seem to phase into his mind. Sonic explains whatever happens, theyll see each other from the same moon. In the end, despite his feelings, Chris makes his decision
His parents trudge pass the trees and bushes until they reach the summer home. Once there, they search for Chris and finds him on the dock. He eyes his parents and graces them with a gentle smile

REVIEW:
Ya know, the summer house would have worked as a better symbol if it was mentioned couple of times throughout the story. Then Id be more convinced of Chris parents finding out where he is.
This is an emotional episode throughout and it couldnt have been any better or worse. Now, everyone is practically screaming in anger and tearing our their hair on Chris selfish acts. I, too, think he should have been smacked upside the head. He was deliberately making himself feel better by endangering billions of people. Its exactly the same way Sonic did when he destroyed those sunshine balls. Sonic was selfishly destroying it just because of his suspicious of Eggman when he could have handled it in a better manner that didnt require endangering the lives of people. It amazes me how similar the two can be sometimes. Both of them doesnt seem to even consider their other friends (Chris with his human buddies and Sonic with his furries), and would be willing to be with each other for all eternity, but we know, in the end, both are just being selfish and would do what is best for the greater good without covering only their back.
Chris is exactly acting the way hes suppose to. How pissed off it makes me or the other 90% Chris haters, his reaction was something hed do. He cares for Sonic so greatly that hed be selfish and act on a foolish plan that he (Chris) knows its dangerous and stupid, but does so anywhere. People do crazy things when it comes to love. Yes, Love. Not romance love, but friendship love. Love is a powerful force and can make us do things wed never stoop to doing, but we did anyways. Thats what Chris did with stopping the machine and running away with Sonic. Sonic, too, had his rather foolish plan to go along with Chris and his foolish plan. In the end, when they sit down and talk, both calm their heads and think more clearly, realizing their actions, Chris emphasizing more so then Sonic whos more carefree about all this.
Chris parents being involved was a key element to his behavior as well. Despite saying how much they love their son, the two are still busy beavers, tending to their own respective work and leaving Chris alone with his servant and grandpa. Speaking of which, Chuck finally decides to get his act together and lecture his son and daughter-in-law on proper parent technique and he couldnt be more right. They were forcing Chris to come home through their workers, employees, and bribes (they said theyd give Chris all the toys he wants). In the end, they too repent and was there for Chris, something Chris has wanted. Its because of them he was lonely to begin with, despite the huge plot hole with his friendship with the human kids. Speaking of the human kidswell, the only main reason I can give is that Chris wasnt as close to call them best friends as he did Sonic. I honestly think it would have made sense if Chris didnt really have friends or any interactions with the kids for some time to work it better, but a little late for that.
Whats also more surprising is what 4Kids did in terms of the Last Time on Sonic X. They didnt use the narrator with annoying voice. In fact, they let the characters themselves speak out on what happened last time. Its like 4Kids was smacked upside the head and realized that this episode was going to be emotional, so they might as well make it more emotional. True, it was a LONG preview of last episode, but it wasn't hasty as the other Last Times either. I give full kudos to 4Kids for not making it seem too obvious with the narrator (by cutting him off) and really knowing it is an emotional time.
Sonic is really the one who looks pretty wonky in animation, but the rest were superb. This episode, despite Chris probably pissing off that 90% of Chris haters, was heartwarming and got me thinking a lot on what I just wrote today. I think a lot of Chris haters might be surprised and even disgusted at me for writing down a perfect score, but I dont care. This episode deserved it, period.

OTHERS:
~I honestly thought an episode centered on just Sonic and Chris (two characters I dont really give a flyin flip about) would be boring
~How many times did I say Flyin Flip, counting now?
~I spent listening to Frou Frous Lets Go, Buffy musicals, and Moulin Rouge as I wrote this. Inspirational or do I have just unique taste in music?
~Chris shows real men wear pink.

Moral of the Episode:
Real Men wear pinkoh, yea, and the Power of Friendship, Love, yadda yadda...

Sonic X, Episode 52, Memories of the Wind or, The very last episode...up until 4kids gets the new 26 episodes over here, provided they do...
On his giant airship, it towers over the -kys homes. There, in the airship is Eggman who announces his return while Bokkun and gold robot are busy playing chess and silver bot reading a book. The -ky animals dont seem to give a crap about Eggman returning and more on running and playing like a bunch of kids. Makes me wonder how confident they are with Sonic. Sheesh.
The trio of robots are pretty damn impatient and just tells fatman to attack. Eggman, however, prefers to wait for Sonic, whom he still believes is somewhere back in his own world. Ahh, poor Eggy. Cant attack without Sonic, eh? Maybe the blue blur shouldnt come. He merely barks then bites.
Inside Vanilla and Creams home, the two bunnies are giving Amy tea and crumpets, trying to get her drunk to suck up to her on making her live with them. Maybe so Vanilla can dump Cream on her so that she can go boyfriend hunting. Amy merely declines which upsets Cream who gets calmed down by her mother. Amy talks about how shell wait for Sonic to come back to her, knowing he will. Of course, her romantic thoughts are interrupted by Eggmans interruptions. Pissed, Amy waltzes out of the house and onto Creams front yard, mallet in hand.
Chucking a mallet to the airship, Eggman is pissed that hes being interrupted. Amy threatens to attack again while the baddies merely ask how when her mallet is stuck to the hull of the ship. Of course, Amy is a magical gal, so she whips out another one out of thin air. This little scene with the mallet actually explains a hell of a LOT of questions I had on previous episodes, glad its finally answered. Again, Eggman and his cronies insult Amy, ultimately saying Sonic probably left because of her. Oh, HELL NO! You did NOT just say that! Cream and Vanilla get back inside the house and literally shut the windows. They probably boarded it up as well. Amy, pissed and on fire more so then the fires of Mordor, she attacks like the dickens.
Rouge and Knuckles see all this from a cliff from afar. Somehow, Knuckles has tolerated Rouge long enough for her to stand next to him for more then 5 seconds. The two argue and theorize on Sonics whereabouts and the concept of time travel. One leads to an argument and Rouge starts to beat the crap outta Knuckles, demanding that he respect her.
Tails comes to help Amy, not to mention hes damn pissed towards Eggman for ruining his beauty sleep (hes got night cap and sleeping mask and everything, both he throws away almost immediately). And of course, he makes me all happy because hes riding on the original, sleek, NOT X-Tornado...The Tornado! WOO!!! How I miss you SO!!! *sniff* NEVER LEAVE ME!
Eggman takes this into cue and commences his attack. Tails takes this time to activate something, unaware that theres something new added to the mix, namely his Tornado transforming into the sleek Hyper-Tornado which is a nice design, better then the X-Tornado hulky, giant, ugly crap. Tails is shocked this has happen and gets his answer from a recorded message from Chuck who made this upgrade earlier before Tails left home. Thats sweet and all, Chuck, just one itty, little, bitty problem. ITS TORNADO, NOT X-TORNADO! DONT YOU EVER MISTAKE THAT HULKY, FUGLY MACHINE WITH THE AWESOMENESS AND BRILLANCE OF THE TORNADO! *GODZILLA ROAR*

*Ahem*

Any who, Tails makes use of the Hyper Tornado and attacks with missiles galore. Eggman then sends a homing missile after Tails who after so much dodging and trickery, the missile still aims towards him. It was designed to catch only Tails. Eggman thinks he had enough though, so he orders the gold robot to recall it. Eggman proves how poor he can be with his machinery at times when he didnt bother upgrading the memory installation on the gold robot who forgot the recall button. Eggman is pissed; Sonic is already gone, he dont want no other enemies destroyed. Sucks to be both Eggy and Tails.
Before the missile could destroy Tails, a bright glow comes and destroys it. Super Sonic has come to saveth the day. After a short chat with Eggy and friends, he blows up the airship. Team Eggman blasts off AGAAAAAAAAAAAAIIIIIIN!!!
SS flies away in his all yellow glory while Tails smiles in happiness that his friend has finally return.
Eggman flies past the large full moon. The robots ask why hes smiling when he should be furious for losing to Sonicagain. Eggman sez it best, Its not whether you win or lose, its how you plot your revenge. Eggman leaves to fight another day and all is normal in the world.
Meanwhile, the Knuckles and Rouge fight continue, the two so into their battle to not bother helping Tails when that missile came. Sheesh. The two stop when SS flies high from the sky, both wrong on Sonics fate they theorized earlier. Satisfied, Rouge then goes over and tackles Knuckles, tickling him. A start.
Night still falls as Amy comforts a sleeping Cream. She eyes the window and sees SS fly by. Shocked, Amy runs like the dickens back to her own house as dawn starts to break through. There, Super Sonic reverts to his normal blue self. Amy is at a rather good distance when she stops. Sonic smiles and responds with a Hey. Amy is pissed, then she cries her eyes out, so she basically sums it up as:

Ive been waiting for you for a long time. It pains me so whenever you arent here. Im so happy youre here right now. Ill wait for you for a long time, though. Even if it means waiting for the rest of my life. Please tell me, just tell me you will never leave me again!

Sonic, lilac flower in hand, smiles, and answers, And I never will. Still crying, Amy hugs Sonic who tries so hard to loosen that hug. The dawn continues and life goes on...

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~....

A teleported is being made. An 18 year old Chris Throndyke in a lab coat busies himself until Helen comes over and reminds him of his lunch with his friends. Remembering, Helen drives a specially made car by Chuck with Chris to a restaurant where his friends remain. Chris asks why he couldnt drive some time, but Helen reminds him of his crappy driving skills. Awww, thats okay, Chris. If it makes you feel better, Im your age and I still dont have a license. I failed my drivers test. Damn parallel parking.
Now meeting with his friends, Chris explains the transporter is still under construction. The four friends take time to think about their lives and the six years that has passed since Sonic step foot into their world. So, all four are now grown up. Chris is a teen heartthrob, Helen is a beautiful chick, Frances looks and sounds the same as her younger counterpart, and Danny ends up being a metro sexual. Goody. Chris now thinks of his last time with Sonic
Sonic has all the 7 Chaos Emeralds. Chris talks with Sonic, now knowing how Sonic would get home. Sonic then gives Chris one last run. As Chris places his arms around Sonic, the blue blur runs. Chris has flashbacks of his time with Sonic (a flashback in a flashback, trendy) and that one black hedgehog who I refuse to name. Hes popular enough for anyone to remember anyways, sheesh. Chris starts to get teary . He notices Sonic, too, is getting teary. As the tears flies down towards darkness, Chris cries out Sonics name one last time

REVIEW:
Sonic X is one of the few shows I see that doesnt have a big boss to defeat in the end of the series. Its also one of the last shows Id think of in terms of making the ending filled with so much emotions, but it mixed it well with action, so its still got Sonic in it. Not to mention it isnt the first episode to produce emotions. I never saw an ending episode (at least on the genre Sonic is catered to) that had this as its series finale or is it season finale, what with 26 new episodes? No giant boss battles, no epic magic powers, nothing too fancy, yet it felt like the finale it deserved and felt like everything tied in together. Rouge and Knuckles show some sign of respect for each other, Tails reunites with Sonic, although not in speaking terms, but you know the duo will be back together, Eggman gets his main enemies back, Cream and Vanilla are comfortable in their own homes, and Amy ultimately reunites with Sonic in a heartfelt reunion that just gets to the heart. Even Chris has his finale, remembering Sonic. My only main flaw seems that Chris is so determined to return when I think he should have kept his memories of Sonic as memories. But its does set up for the next 26 episodes, but even if there werent any new episodes, this one ends perfectly.
The action didnt overshadow the emotions as well and was an exciting twist. It also proves that Eggy doesnt want to fight, to conquer unless he has Sonic. He needs Sonic, a thirst for rivalry. Theres a deeper meaning to Eggmans life then we all thought. Gotta love that fat man. Other emotions aside, the Sonic/Amy one is one of the most important scenes of the entire episode, possibly of the entire scene. Throughout the entire Sonic X, Amy has been quite persistence on having Sonic for herself. Some say its a giant crush, others say she really does love him. Whatever your opinion is, the scene where Sonic gives a flower to Amy and promises hed stay is truly a heartwarming moment and shows indeed that Sonic really cares for Amy, if not as a very close friend. Amys speech towards Sonic is also moving and shows some eligible proof that she really does love him. Its a nice scene and probably one of the fave.
The whole Chris deal was done well, too. They all grew up, Chris got surprisingly good looking (Helen turned very beautiful, Frances look the same, and Dannyyea). Chris memories on how Sonic returned was a nice touch, giving him one last farewell before he left. Chris with tears is no big deal, but Sonic crying is something thats rare on its own. Whats even more interesting is that Sonics face isnt shown as hes dropping tears. Its a VERY nice touch and pure Sonic. You dont really see him cry, so to make it more believable that he is Sonic, they make him cry without showing his face. Nice.
Overall, some nice animations (especially the scene with Amy and Sonic, the dawn and soft colorings I truly like). The music is pretty darn nice. Not as epic Id say as the endings of SA and SA2 adaptation or as beautifully done as the ending of episode 17 (which still reminds my fave piece), the music is very fitting in most scenes. Its not the original Japanese song (which is a song that I like only by listening to it more and more), but for either one, it works enough for me.

And now, on a more personal note:
After reviewing nearly all 52 episodes of Sonic X (I never reviewed episodes 1-4), I say that I will miss reviewing Sonic Xwell, until the next 26 episodes or so gets over here. But at the same time, its a great relive for me to relax and rest. First off, I thank everyone who wasted 5 minutes of their time reading this crap. I massively enjoyed writing it as much as you reading it, honestly. I feel happy every time someone gives a nice opinion to my reviews, it really makes my day. Heres to the next 26 episodes. Until then, AAN-YOUNG!

OTHERS:
~The end of a series...for now
~Shame Big wasnt here. Wish hed appear more.
~Cant wait for the next set of episodes, although the current batch are good enough as it is.
~I need to draw more Sonic stuff. Havent done so in a while.
~And to top it off, my fave Sonic X Episodes...

*Episode 3: The One with Knuckles and Amy
*Episode 7: The One with Cream to host a party
*Episode 9: The One where Amy goes to the beach
*Episode 10: The One where everyone plays baseball
*Episode 14: The One who helps Helen have the time of her life.
*Episode 17: The One with Knuckles in China
*Episode 27 - 32: The One with the SA Arc.
*Episode 39: The One with the Crazy Chaotix
*Episode 45 - 46: The One with the Great Tournament
*Episode 52: The One that ends it all...for now.

Moral of the Episode: And I wont cry for yesterday, theres an Ordinary World...Somehow I have to find...And as I try to make my way to the Ordinary World...I will learn to survive...

Aww, the hell with it...11/10.

Only an 11/10? I thought it deserved at least a 14 out of 10. 😉

#52 was by far my favorite all around episode as it had me hooked from beginning to end. In a sense it reminded me of why I loved the ending for the first season of the Digimon dub over all the other four seasons, while being a bit better.

The Knuckles/Rouge scene was CLASSIC!

"Its been real fun having you around, but unless you behave youself. I'll have to give you the BOOT!" XD

The actors were just superb [for lack of better word.] Sure they were a little off to begin with. But as the series went on, they just got better and better.

Tikal for instance, I dont think I heard ONE badly acted line.

If these actors replaced the offical USA ones. I certainly wouldnt mind.

Agreed. I was simply blown away by her acting. It was freakin' wonderful. The last time I was blown away with amazing acting was Billy Zane as Ansem (mostly his appearance in the ending). Awesomeness.

Who played Tikal anyway?

What about Decoe & Bocoe? They sounded TERRIBLE to begin with. But around half through 14-26 they suddenly started to talk with emotion and sounded much better.

Especially Bocoe! ^^

I think Im more excited about the English dubb of 53-78 than I was for 1-52!!!

It's definitely too bad that not all of the previous episodes were as good as the finale.

I still need to see the rest of the series before picking a number one favorite (darn you, 4Kids, and your stupid "4Kids Favorites" crap, ruining the continuity!!).
Though, I do have a few favorites, though I think Neo covered a good amount of them ('Amy on the Beach', "Adventures of Knuckles and Hawk"..) as well as 'Cruise Blues' (hilarious episode) and whatever the episode was with King Boom Boo (if just for the sheer freakiness factor).

I kinda felt that Shadow's VA made him sound a bit cockier than he normally is.

I mean, Shadow does have a wee bit of an ego, but he mostly uses his confidence to tick off the enemy. In Sonic X, he just sounded like a manlier version of Pegasus 😛

But the SA storyarcs were pretty good, despite the Chris-hogging-the-role moments.

...and yes, I'm quite aware I'm commenting on those episodes a bit late, but it's only now that I've finally seen every Sonic X episode to date (dub-wise).

This may be somewhat off-topic (so apologies in advance), but I always thought in American English it was "I could care less", while in British it's "I couldn't care less". Is it not just different ways of saying things, like tap v faucet?

It's kinda like 'Gotten' and 'Got'. In Britain, 'Gotten' isn't Standard English.

What fascinates me - and what I don't understand - is how they're used as the same thing when they're actually complete opposites.

Surely if you could care less, that means you still actually care to some degree, because your level of caring could still drop?

If you couldn't, it's because you've got nothing left to care with, which is what I thought that the phrase was supposed to mean.

Not trying to start a cyclical argument - just throwing in my opinion.

Low school academic standards?

I REALLY wish I had something to add to this thread, but all's quiet on the front.

I can only assume that "could care less" stems from massive misinterpretation that no one bothers to correct. Sorta like people saying/spelling "could of" or "should of" or even merging words together ("alot", "infact").

Wowsers, this turned from a US Sonic X talkie to my poor, poor grammar. Okay, I get it. I suck at grammar and I should never consider writing a book (which I'm actually half serious about doing).

No way Neo you go write that book. Besides it's not really about your poor grammar, it's your poor grammar and terrible spelling. :] *stabbed to death*

I'd take Neo over most of the SMURFS that strew the GameFAQ boards at any given time. I get migraines every time I visit.

I've gone to the Gamespot forums before...they must all be learning English.
