The gamefaqs board...ugh. It's not the bad internet grammars that get me (I don't even understand more then 98% of internet slangs nor do I want to), more because it's surrounded by vast amounts of immaturity.

What are you talking about!?? Knux belongs to MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE! :">
Whooooaaaaaaaaaa.
You should check those out. It's an interesting read. You'll find somewhere in there a passage describing pretty much what you've just done.
Children, it is called:

They just showed the sneak peak of season 3. I"m not particularly interested in seeing 3. It was a little confusing, the way they previewed it.
What did the sneak peak entail? Did you hear Cosmo's dubbed voice?
and trust me. Season 2 is FAR FAR FAR!!!! better than the first one. Chris is useful for one thing
People keep telling me that the last 26 episodes are better. I'd ask for a broken-down explanation, but I don't wanna get spoiled so use your words wisely... I'd rather stick with the English dub all the way for this season. The clip was a narration, so the only one whose voice we got to hear was Eggman's. And I never have hated Chris. As for the last season, if Chris and Francis were both 12, how old were Danny and Helen?
Im alittle nervious on how much will be cut out & if the voices will be better for the older characters & if the new characters will have good voices as well.
To my knowledge, Danny and Frances were 11 while Chris was 12. I don't know about Helen though.
Helen is 11 years of age too according to the profile cards in the DVD's (well, the japanese ones)
Anyone know when the new Sonic X episodes air?
*cracks hand*
Well! Better start gettin' ready to type summaries like CUH-RAZY!

I just watched Ep 66, for a trial. If it is representative of the entire anime, well... I don't know if the (horrible) French version is in cause, but...
That's dreadful.
No story, no dialogues, no animation, NOTHING.
The usual level of mediocrity of the commercial Japanese production. After the unwatchable Pokemon anime, I couldn't think we would suffer again something like that.
People keep telling me that the last 26 episodes are better. I'd ask for a broken-down explanation, but I don't wanna get spoiled so use your words wisely..
Quite a few of the problems of the first series are corrected in 53-78. The most important improvement, in my opinion, is that most characters seems to get the screen time they deserved.
Unlike previous episodes, this batch tells a single story. Because of this, they have room to explore what's realy going on. We get a lot more insight into what really makes these characters tick, including the new faces and the returning favorites.
So, mostly it's better in terms of he way characters are dalt with, which is what's important to most fans. The basic ideas of the plot aren't really all that original, but they give the characters the ability to show off their stuff.
I saw a slip-up on the first episode a few days ago. I have the Sonic X GBA video, so I can watch it over and over again.
If you watch the scene right before the cop tries to pounce on Sonic in the intersection, it shows the cops over Sonic's shoulder. His arms are crossed. Cop 1 says, "Should I call for backup?". Cop 2 says, "I have 2 kitty cats at home. I think I can handle this little guy." and motions to him the way you would attract a cat. Sonic then crosses his arms and a cop remarks about him having a attitude, a bad one. The camera turns to the same angle as before and Sonic is in the same pose as before. So...he had his arms crossed....and then he crossed them. That's a slip-up in my book. I'd give pictures, but, I don't have any. Weird, huh?
Well, apparently new episodes of Sonic X will start airing on 4Kids TV next week, so that means I'm gonna be back in full review mode. I'm not too sure what time it starts. If anyone knows, it'll be greatly appreciate.

It's a shame the EzBug ate all the reviews on this topic. You have them saved, right? You aughta post them on a website or something. They rocked. ^^
It should still continue to air at 9/8c, Neo.

I know. Unfortunately I did not save any. Sorry. But I'm not gonna make the same mistake again and will save the summaries of this new season. Whether I make a website for it, I have no clue just yet.
It should still continue to air at 9/8c, Neo.
Oy. As if I don't get enough sleep as it is...

Do it for the children, Neo. Do it for little Billy!

No, 4Kids TV is changing their TV schedule. According to Yahoo, it should be on at 11am ET.
Cool. Well I dunno if I'll actually watch. The last episodes from the first season bored me to death...I'll wait for the interesting arcs...
Do it for the children, Neo. Do it for little Billy!
*sniff* I'M COMING BILLY!!! You just hold on down that well you fell, ya got it!?
Heh, in slight serious...ness, did you mean "do it" by saving my reviews onto a disk or putting them in a website?
As for the 11AM thing, I managed to find out yesterday so I'm pretty happy since I can sleep in a bit more...then again, Xiaolin Showdown is at 9:30AM...CURSES!

Actually I was talking about continuing with the reviews. oo;
Here's something for you broadbanders: 4Kids Sonic X Preview (640x480 4:04 minutes 78.1MB). I believe this was extracted off a 4Kids Preview DVD that's being distributed in Toys 'R' Us stores across the nation. It contains scenes from further along in the series, so I say a mild spoiler warning is in effect. Also, first Cosmo dub voice sample. o.o
Actually I was talking about continuing with the reviews. oo;
Just making sure, because someone mentioned I should put them in a website and I responded back and all.
As for the preview, well, I was more "What's going on" then spoiled, which is good because unlike the last Sonic X episodes, I choose to not spoil myself this time.
I don't know much of Cosmo's personality and what she is (again, no wishes to be spoiled), but voice-wise, I think she sounds terrific. It feels like the actress is actually putting a lot of effort into her. That's good.
But boo for Chris and friggin' Shadow.
~Neo
Cosmo's voice is much better than I feared... thank goodness
...anyone got a wav?
http://news.toonzone.net/article.php?ID=5658
According to ToonZone, Sonic X is coming at 10AM instead of 11AM. I have no clue if this is western or eastern time, but I lean towards the latter.
~Neo
Just saw the episode.
Spoilers (Select To Read) It was fairly decent, although I thought it could benefit from a new theme song, as the lyrics of the old one don't apply anymore. New clips would have been nice. The music was as melodramatic as ever, and the voice acting was pretty much the same. Dark Oak I'm not sure I like, Cosmo I can actually enjoy. |
It was eastern as when I got up at 11 this morning I found out I had coimpletely missed the episode!:">
sorry, anyway any theroys why chirs got younger when he came the Sonic's world(you call it what ever want)mine is that all the parts in sonic's world took place a few months after they got sent back and all the parts on earth took place like 10 or 20 years later and that futre chirs created a cross dimesional portal and a time portal all in .and he got as young as he was when they got sent .another theory is even thugh they have paralel time lines sonic world goes slower than earth so comig to sonics world would prove to make you younger to sychorniz the time line
Well saw the episode. It was okay. Dark Oak sounded good, Cosmo sounded british and Dan Green , , needs to make a choice:is either Yugi voice or Yami voice. You can't change half way through the episode .

Off topic: TMNT has coolest opening ever
Ahhh, yes, I am back, Back is me. Back once again. The backness is here. Back. Back...very back. Well, now that I had a small wave of nostalgia, let's move on towards another batch of Sonic X episodes, and another round of waves of pointless, near nonsensical reviews by moi.
Sonic X, Episode 53, "A Messenger from Meteoric Shower" or HEY! HEY! I'M BACK to reviewing! GATHER 'ROUND, FRIENDS!?
Space...the final frontier. Gazillions of stars grace the never ending blackness as the oh-so-familiar music from 2001 Space Odyssey plays. All is calm.......until it's dramatically ruined by lasers flying across the galaxy and debris surrounding the area. How rude! Between the bouts of battle is a giant purplely, lavenderly, nicely designedly robot man and Super Sonic. SS is a powerful dude, but seeing him getting his ass kicked must show how friggin?powerful the robot is. And all in the beginning of the show, too. Wowsers. How's THAT for pure evilness?
Robot man wants the Chaos Emeralds. SS ain't gonna play that, so he uses Chaos Control and sends all seven emeralds flying off in different directions like Dragonballs...I think, seeing as my knowledge of DragonBall Z retains only to bunches of super powerful dudes kicking the living crap outta each other and others. With the emeralds gone, SS falls downwards to the planet below him while Robot Man orders his minions to "Remove the Planet Egg." DU DU DUUUUUUUUUUH!
Cue theme song (couldn't they bother to make a new one, sheesh)...and we get to Tails (with a telescope), Amy, Cream, and Cheese, out on a nightly picnic to view the meteor shower. I always wanted to see a meteor shower. Tails mentions it's gonna be another 500 years of them showers, so theyre lucky to see it now. 500 years? I'll either be dead or a head in a jar. Amy then suggest they make a wish on the meteor shower, something she learned from--wait for it--Chris Thorndyke himself. Ahhh, only less then five minutes into the show and I bet 98% of the Sonic X viewers are cringing at the mere mention of his name. Cream and Tails then both comment on how much they miss Chris and the other humans. Good riddance. The only good one was Stewart/Stuart, that hot piece of man flesh...........Let's move on.
The meteor shower commences and we get the "oohs" and "ahhs" then the
OH-NOES!!!11!!! as a meteor heads their way. The heroes duck in time and the supposed meteor crash lands nearby. They go to check up on it and are surprised to see it ain't no meteor, but a spaceship. Near the spaceship is a green-haired girl, unconscious. Amy immediately tells Cream that the girl is going to her house since it's nearest. Cream flies off to alert her mother.
In a base that's all too familiar in terms of color and design, Sonic wakes up and immediately panics over where the bleedin' hell is. Eggman's voice comes up and mentions he was Sonic's saver. Flashback commences with Eggman jogging with Bokkun. Ahh, so THAT'S why he's pretty durn lively for a fat guy. Well, he's WAY bigger then me, but he's already more healthier then I'll ever be. Eggman saw Sonic facedown on the beach and managed to save him (if the tide didn't get to him first). Sonic, not at all shocked and retaining that same optimistic, causal look he always gives, decides to just head out, not telling what Eggman wants to know, which is why Sonic ended up the way he did. Sonic leaves without as so much a good-bye, causing the two robot dudes and Bokkun to piss about on Sonic's rudeness. Eggman just ponders.
Meanwhile, Rouge is up inside Eggman's air vent, doing what she does best: spying.
In The House of Cream's mom, Green-haired girl lies in bed, looking like she developed a fever of 140 degrees. The others all look worrying while I continue to cringe upon Vanilla's crappy (not to mention slightly creepy) voice. *shudders*
Green-haired girl has a brief flashback of her running away from the robots. Another female voice is heard, telling her to run, then she wakes up. She sees the furries surrounding among her. Not caring if she'd end up their dinner, she asks for Sonic. Amy immediately takes this as a romance thing and promptly shouts out she is Sonic's girlfriend. Cream doesn't think green-haired girl wants Sonic romantically and pushes Amy away before she could mallet'd green-haired girl (and apparently Cream likes touching Amy's chest cuz' she does that for about a minute). Tails proceeds to tell green-haired girl that they are Sonic's pals and so she can tell them anything, but green-haired girl is tight lip and ain't saying anything, jack!
Things turn even worse when a black robot of many sharp angles that'll make Tetsuya Nomura proud comes, landing in the forest where he starts to burninate the trees. OH-NOES! In Angel Island, near the ME, Knuckles wakes up and sees the giant robot wrecking havoc. So he gets his red butt over there to do some ass kicking. The others join in as well with Tails and green-haired girl in--ugh--the-the-OH, GOD, I CAN'T EVEN SAY IT...Okay, the...X-Tornado.
WHY!? TAILS!? WHY!? How did you GET that? I can only assume he made it between episode 52 to 53 cuz?I sure as hell don't remember him taking that monstrosity with him in the last episode. BUT WHY TAILS!? WHY!? The fugly X-Tornado is NO match for the wonder that IS regular Tornado. WHY!??????? MY SOUL DIES INSIDE!!!
As I pass from my grief, the robot searches for the Planet Egg. Green-haired girl informs the gang that the robot is called a Metarex. Sonic then comes and delivers his fair of butt kicking alongside Knuckles by delivering a spin dash that knocks the robot clear of his feet and damages him. I assume since the robot's a lackey is why he takes more damage then purple/lavender robot leader dude.
Scene switch to another place where it's sunset in a nice looking lab area/university/Area 51/Grandma's house, as we see 18 year old Chris Thorndyke. And now, the 98% of the Sonic X viewers cries a river of sadness. Although truth be told, I think 18 year old Chris is...well, kinda hot.
Any who, Chris has managed to make an exact replica of the teleporter machine that sent Sonic and pals back home, main difference is that this one works without Chaos Emerald usage. Chris wants to--wait for it--get to Sonic's world and meet him. Why, who didn't see THAT coming? He then eyes a photo of his younger self, Sonic, Tails, and Amy. Where the hell are Cream and Cheese? The photo then falls and breaks. Chris is a bit shocked as he picks up the framed pic and says he'll be coming soon.
Meanwhile, Tails unleashes that ol' plot device, the power ring, only it ain't very plot device-y here since Sonic's butt is still getting whupped. Both Tails and green-haired girl notices Sonic isn't as speedy as he used to be. Knuckles suggests to Sonic to use the Chaos Emeralds to kick all kinds of butt, but Sonic confesses he let them all loose. Knuckles is downright pissed and probably would've kicked his little blue butt (so many "butts") if not for the dire consequences the two are in.
The Metarex sees this ain't no time for tea and cuppycakes, so he proceeds to create a crater in the middle of the forest which then glows a lovely light blue. OMG! MAGicAl CrAtER!!!111!111 Out pops a pink colored, squared shaped crystalline which contains what looks like a miniature galaxy. Remains me of them marble galaxy that alien had in the ending of Men in Black. Metarex takes it and green-haired girl says that is the "Planet Egg." Sure don't look like a planet. It is the life force of Sonic's world and without it, all is doooooooom. And doom it is as the life of the planet is slowly being sucked away as the trees around them deteriorate and rot. Metarex got what he needs, so he flies off. Sonic tries to catch him, but to no avail. Neither can Tails whose FUGLY X-Tornado is not built for space travel.
Green-haired girl then tells Tails to open up the hatch. Reluctantly, Tails does and she flies/hovers/floats/whatevers her way down to meet up with the other furries. She finally reveals her name as Cosmo, which I'm sure everyone knew by now, making my calling her "Green-haired girl" pointless, but I guess I was being all mysterious-like. Any who, she explains how Sonic can save the galaxy because of his control of the Chaos Emeralds. Then both Amy and Knuckles points out on Sonic's major suckatude during battle. Ahh, great minds think alike. See why I'm so into those two together? Sonic doesn't seem to worry at all about it. Yea, Sonic, not worry about your speed. See if I care.
Meanwhile, Tails sees the ME glowing from his fugly airship and immediately knows what's gonna happen. So, he reports back to the others who all head to the ME. As it shines brightly and repeatedly like a damn bug zapper, Chris' voice is heard on a letter he wrote to his friends and family on how he wants to visit Sonic's world. Don't nobody stop him, he'll return.
The ME chaos controls a warp hole and out pops a shadowy figure. Knux and Sonic are the first to observe that it's Chris who sees Sonic. He first sees and heads for--WAIT FOR IT---Sonic and trips. Nelsons says "HA HA!" Chris then notices his hand and finally gets it through his thick head despite hearing his child voice before that he is back to being 12 again. NOOOOOOOOOOO, goes the 98% of the Sonic viewers. I'm just saying "NO" because I won't be able to see hot 18-year old Chris?bum. Durn, only one episode and you ruined my life, Chris. Thanks a lot.
REVIEW:
Ahhhh, the joys of review again. How I missed thee. In all seriousness, this was a decent episode and opened up a lot without making my head spin in confusion and scene switches of no tomorrow. We get a plot that gradually builds up with me going "What the hell is up" to "I see" There are still many questions, but the basic plot is there. Metarex robot dude gets this so-called Planet Egg and it's sucking Sonic's world dry. Cosmo the girl is somehow connected to all this and seeks Sonic's help to save the world, and all the while, Chris lollygags until he comes to over in the end. The plot is set and the other episodes, the ones who'll take Sonic and friends to new heights will carry the rest. It had a nice level of action and other miscellaneous other stuff I enjoyed. Mostly, it was brief nostalgia to reunite with everyone again.
The characters voice today were immensely superb, especially Knuckles' anger towards Sonic. Cosmo is still new and she didn't speak too much. Even with the preview I saw earlier, I still need to watch some more episodes, but so far, Cosmo's voice is very soft-spoken and lovely. It's very pleasing at the moment. My only voice complaint is merely the Metarex, sounding very monotonous and cliche evil-like, but hey, he's a robot being dubbed by 4Kids, and Vanilla's voice which I still don't like.
Animation is great as well with no characters looking retarded or out of place. Wonderful.
The music is familiar Sonic X/4Kids music I remember it to be. A bit dramatic in some places, but overall, general music stuff I've heard before.
With that said, here are a few things I hope happens to the show (and please, for people who DID watch the episodes, don't tell me, I don't wanna spoil myself):
Character Development (Well, mostly on Tails and Cream): Sans a few, the humans seem to squash the daylights outta the other furries. I'm talking mostly Tails and Cream. To a certain extend, I guess Rouge would fit there. With only one human so far, I want some more development on Tails and Cream. I don't see much of either these two (Cream being the even BIGGER victim) from the previous episodes, so here's to them shining out.
Chris: I heard he's not such a spotlight hogger here. So I hope to GOD he keeps it that way in this role. Chris has a wonderful personality, but he was hogging it all and it's pissing 98% of the Sonic viewers. So, for the love of all that is holy, please don't make him hog the limelight so much.
With that said, I AM a bit disappointed that Chris is young again. In truth, I would have actually loved to see his older self with Sonic. I wanted to see if there were ever any changes? Well, it could happen since as far as I see, he's 12 with the mind of an 18 year old, but who can bet that won't happen? Then again, older Chris didn't seem to have changed much from his younger counterpart other then being possibly less whiny. Oh, who am I kidding? I just wanna see some hot 18 year old Chris Thorndyke-ness.
Get rid of the X-Tornado and bring back the normal blue one: Eheh hahaha hah haha...it's never gonna happen, is it? *cries*
Wit that said, I see immense potential with these new batches of Sonic X episodes.
10/10

MINOR spoiler, just to tell you whether you're correct or not.
Spoilers (Select To Read) This season, Chris acts older, contributes more of value, spends less time in the limelight, and seems to fit well with the rest of the cast. His body is younger, but he IS older Chris. He is no longer the Chris that shocked us in episodes 50-52 with his childish selfishness. Quite the contrary. |

~They couldn't kill to make a different theme song?
I feel ya'. They could do a change with One Piece, TMNT, and Kirby, but not Sonic. Gang, that theme is old! I need to watch this one again to confirm my thoughts. I've the other 52 on tape as I do this one. Catch ya later.
Having football practice start the same time as the primiere of the new Sonic X season should be outlawed. I have been waiting for this for awhile too. Not to mention that we have atleast 7 more games to play(excluding playoffs) which means 7 more episodes i'll miss. =(
OK I've just watched it again. Not much here to me, but it's too early to tell. Super Sonic was an idiot to throw away all those Emeralds, thus committing suicide. He could have returned to his planet before doing so. How everyone can breathe in space is still beyond me. The Closed Captioning seems to have forgotten Vanilla's name (captioned as "Cream's Mom" insted of the former "Vanilla"). I didn't know the Rabbit's had a 2-story place. If Cheese is Cream's friend, then why do they live at the same place? Cheese should have his/her own place to live. Still not knowing much of the new characters, I'm limited. Dark Oak sounds both awsome and funny at once. Sonic and Super SOnic sound as decent as ever. Tails still sounds like a girl. Cosmo sounds British, Knux is still Yami so yay! Amy, Cream, Cheese, Vanilla, Christopher, Dr. E, his assistants, and Rouge all sound the same as well. Sonic spends alot of the episode getting his but whooped, even during the minute of Super. He didn't put up a fights.
Bads aside, this was a decent season premiere. Nothing really bad here. I swear the Sonic series uses too much references to Eggs(capitalized on purpose), and now we have the Planet Eggs. I feel like we were halfway introduced to what's going on. I'm glad Chris is back and there's nothing you all can do to change my brain/mind. A ha ha ha ha haaaaa! >=) I've been playing Gems on my beloved 'Cube and I must say Sonic R is UNDERRATED! But let's not get off-topic. 2 last problems remain-
1: Angel Island never did leave Earth.
and...
2. Neither did the X-Tornado. P-P-P-Plotholeszz! I want the Tornado 2 and Hyper Tornado back! Dang!
Cheese is basically Cream's pet chao regardless of what light she would prefer to see him in.
Also- Tails does not sound like a girl. o.O All the girls you've been around must have soar throats and smoke heavily. Keep in mind also that he's 8 years old and SHOULD at least sound a bit "like a girl". Finally, I thought Tails did ride the X Tornado into the portal in Episode 50?
Nope. The Tornado 2 made it's LONG-awaited return in 50 and Tails took is home with him through the portal. No sign of the X-Tornado.
1) You don't know that Sonic could've returned before getting rid of them. It was obvious that he couldn't win. It's possible that he could've been caught and totally lost the fight before he was able to get back.
2) I think wondering why Cheese lives with Cream is similar to wondering why pets live their owners.
3) Everything from Sonic's planet on Chris' planet was returned to Sonic's planet. That was the whole point of the original series end.
^ Yes. Even though you don't see it, it's heavily implied that everything from Sonic's world was returned to Sonic's world. Mystic Ruins and Angel Island included (nevermind that the portal was atop Mystic Ruins at the time o.O ).
It's unknown if the X-Tornado shared the same fate. Since it's originally from Chris' world, it should have remained there. I believe Tails created an all-new X-Tornado from the knowledge he gleamed from Chuck, the new design symbolizes it's a different machine.
Still, would've prefered more Tornado-2. But considering where they'll be traveling, a bi-plane wouldn't be effective.
I thought it was overall, really good (opening could be changed though)
Now the reason Sonic scattered the chaos emeralds across the galaxy is because he knew he was getting beat, and didn't want to chance Dark Oak getting them.
Amy still believes Sonic's is her boyfriend (when wil she learn that he just wants to be friends), when she feels theaten by Cosmo's asking of Sonic.
Tails already starts to have affeaction for Cosmo (starting out step by step though)
Knuckles is ticked off extermely that Sonic got rid of the chaos emeralds, when they need the most.
And Chris obliously so obessed with seeing Sonic and the others that he forgets about the timeline difference between both worlds and ends up reverting back to be his old 12 year self, and he asks what happen?, Well, duh, Chris I think your obesstion led to you making a misclaution and forgetting about the timeline difference and adding it in to your eqaution.
But overall it's was great start to the 3rd season and you defentaly see that this season is a lot darker then the first 2.

Funny you should say that. In the French version, while working on the final calculations, Chris says "I should fix the variable concerning time," or something very mch to that effect. I'm not sure if that's present in the Japanese version, though. Anyway, I noticed it was missing in the dub, which is a shame because it makes more sense than.... whatever he ended up saying.
Here's some sort of spoiler about the tornado, I'm sure some of you will like to know
Spoilers (Select To Read) Both the X-Tornado and the Tornado 2 will appear in this season. |
I can't hear Knuckles without thinking he's gonna start ranting on about "the power of friendship" and the Millenium Puzzle and all that jazz. ;p

How everyone can breathe in space is still beyond me.
Actually, (this is spoilers):
the only people who can't breathe in space are Chris and Eggman. This suggests to me that the furries either don't have lungs and breathe out of habit, or they are UBER SPECIAL and can breathe anything. Also they don't depressurize or freeze solid (except that one time)(ep. 18) .
And while I'm in the spoiler tags, I wonder (for Neo's sake) if they're gonna keep that fanservice "18-year-old Chris in the shower" scene.
EDIT: Help, the spoiler tags aren't working for me! ;.;

Sonic X, Episode 54, The Space Ship Blue Typhoon or"YES! NO MORE FUGLY X-TORNADO!"
The show starts off with a brief flashback of hot 18-year old Chris?letter to his friends and family on how he's heading off to Sonic's world. As the ME pulses, Chris does come back and is shocked to see himself as a young boy again. Roll theme song!
Cream, Tails, Amy, and even Knuckles show off their appreciation for Chris' return, ignoring the fact that he was a spotlight hog for some 52 episodes, so they resist the urge to try and kill him. Cosmo asks Sonic who the hell he is and Sonic sincerely answers that he's Chris, his buddy. Chris goes over to his favorite hedgehog to probably glomp him, but Sonic faints because of the previous battle. No, he just wants to avoid Chris' massive deadly arms of death.
As Vanilla tucks Sonic in bed (awww), Cosmo tells the furries and Chris on how the Metarexes are ruling over planets all over the galaxy. As they do so, they steal the planet's Planet Egg which is the planet's life force. Whew, so many planets. In time, the planets became lifeless rocks floating in space, and Sonic's world is starting to suffer for it. Cosmo says the chaos emeralds are needed. Knuckles then shows off his untrusting side by berating the poor gal, saying he doesn't trust her. Cosmo then explains how she lost her friends and family when her planet got ruined and cries her eyes out.
The furries leave the room where they, sans Knuckles shows their love for Chris and how it's only been a short 6 months for them while 6 years have passed for Chris. So, one month in their world is equal to one year in Chris' world? Wow. Amy also complains about Knuckles lack of manners. Oh, Amy, in your heart, you just yearn for some hot echidna-ness. Don't deny it. DON'T DENY IT!! Before anything else could be said and done, they soon discover Sonic is out of bed, having leaped outta the window. Amy is peeved he didn't even say "Good-bye."
Meanwhile, back in Angel Island, while Knuckles is staring at the ME, he basically talks to himself about how he still doesn't trust Cosmo. Rouge comes from behind to ask if the rumors are true and the 7 Chaos Emeralds are out in space. Knuckles confirms it and pretty much starts telling her how much of a diphead Sonic is. She flies away ala' Batman--type (although she says a good-bye, calling him "Knuckie" Tee), leaving Knuckles to cry out for her. He hates to be interrupted. Oh, so NOW you want Rouge back, Knuckles? Make up your mind! Then again, Amy doesn't currently have Sonic, why don't you go comfort her?
Back in The House of Cream's Mom, Vanilla gives Chris the exact clothes he wore when he was 12. I assumed she sewed it for him. Chris is grateful. Outside the house, the furries talk with Cosmo on what to do. They have to get the Chaos Emeralds and stop the Metarexes. Sonic then comes up and promises Cosmo he'll get the emeralds and return all the Planet Eggs. He vows a trip to space and everyone agrees.
So, with that in mind, Tails gets his rear in gear and shows his friends his latest invention: The Blue Typhoon, a massive air ship that Tails must have toiled away for 6 months. Maybe to better combat Eggman? Who knows, but Tails said it's fit for space travel as well, but requires the Chaos Emeralds to power up. I'm just glad this hulky thing is pretty sleek designed and that probably means, NO MORE X-TORNADO! WAHOO!!! Tails gets all pouty until Chris immediately thinks of the world's most brilliant idea. BUT WHO CARES!? NO MORE X-TORNADO! WAHOO!
Knuckles is walking in some random forest place until he spots Angel Island back on sea. He then eyes the ME missing and is gravely pissed. He somehow thinks Sonic has it instead of, oh...say...EGGMAN!? Knuckles?hatred for the hedgehog has gone to new levels.
He basically goes to Tails' workshop where he pisses out at Sonic and the others for using the ME without his permission. He needs it for Angel Island, but the others aren't phased at all. Knuckles continues to yell (while his actor who plays him gives a brilliant performance of his angry side, I swear, he's doing a bang up job, but more on that on the review section), until Cream yells at him for being so selfish. Ooooh, Knuckles, you got DISSED by a 6 year old! Then Cosmo and Amy joins in with the latter being more aggressive. Oh, Amy, you know you just want some hot echidna-ness. It's the dreadlocks, isn't it? Knuckles gets nervous and asks Sonic for help, but he rather not get involved in a battle he knows he'll lose. This entire scene definitely make me chuckle.
So, with all that said and done, Knuckles is forced to help, but he's grumbling still continues. Chris is helping Tails maintain the ship, showing off his technological expertise he has gained over the course of his 6 years. Well, what do ya know? Only 2 episodes and ALREADY Chris is making himself useful. THANK YOU! Now, to see if he'll not steal the spotlight and this will be the Chris I dreamed of to star in Sonic X. While Knuckles and Sonic handle the heavy lifting, the girls are packing up foods and supplies for the trip.
Meanwhile, on the outer rims of the planet, evil robot dude sends a Metarex to stop the Blue Typhoon (NO MORE X-TORNADO!) from taking off. I swear, leaders are some of the laziest people ever, letting their minions do all their work while they vacation away to Miami listening to the Beach Boys and tanning themselves. The Metarex obeys and heads down.
Amy, Cream/Cheese, and Cosmo walk down a lovely green field, carrying supplies. Cosmo tries to help, but the supplies are too heavy for her. Oh, Cosmo, even Cream, who's only 6 carried those stuff like friggin' She-Hulk. Maybe you need to get pointers from Amy and start swinging a mallet to develop your upper arms. Cosmo then sees a Metarex landing in a forest area of sorts and panic rises.
Sonic and Knuckles are already on the scene and does their best to stop Metarex who's nearly nigh impossible to defeat. He even proceeds to shoot missions out of his chest. OH-NOES! Meanwhile, Tails tells Amy through a communicator watch (when did she get that and who can bet she won't have it for the rest of the series?) that they need Knuckles to activate the emerald. Amy sends Cream to fetch Knuckles while she and Cosmo takes the rest of the supplies to the ship. Amy explains what Knuckles has to do and for some reason, they're shocked like it's the end of the world.
Knuckles creates a hole to send the Metarex in. Cream comes and says Knuckles is needed. Tails is gonna use his cannon to stop the Metarex--and WHEN did Tails tell all this to her? Me thinks during the communication with Amy, but they never bothered to dub that in. Smart move, 4kids. Knuckles said the Metarex is all taken cared of until it comes out of his hole like a zoooooooooombie! Sonic tells Knuckles to beat it and let him handle the evil dude.
Cream goes over to her mother's house sometime during this point (I can't bother to remember) and asks for her mother's permission to go to space. Vanilla agrees and comforts Cream. I have reasons to believe that Vanilla thinks Cream is just gonna go play with Tails then fly with him. Little cute reunion is cut short though.
As Chris and Tails works their technological skills, Knuckles works his mojo, saying Tikals' phrase and whatnot. The Blue Typhoon is working well and I cry in happiness at no more X-TORNADO!!! The cannon is ready to activate and Sonic works his way inside. The ship powers it up and lets loose, sending Sonic straight through the Metarex. SHAZAM!!! Err...yea, sorry--too much Viewtiful Joe (with the anime coming in November, I can't wait!). Sonic then falls down in an out of control fashion, but Chris, showing off his skills he's learned the past 6 years catches Sonic in a sleek little airship that is STILL better designed then the X-Tornado.
Any who, with the Metarex destroyed, the Blue Typhoon takes off. Sonic is congratulated on his effort. He then scratches his head and notices a small chip was stuck to it. No one knows what it is yet.
Eggman, however does. It's a beacon or some sorta of listening device he planted on Sonic while he was resting. Bearing that in mind, Eggman's spaceship which has no need for emerald usage (probably cuz' he's technological expertise is better then Tails at the moment), he flies after Blue Typhoon while Rouge follows behind them. Space...the final frontier, DU DU DUUUUUUUUUU!
REVIEW:
Well, what do ya know? Another worthy episode that I massively enjoyed. It was a gradually nice build as the characters slowly discover what they must do and ultimately decide to go to space. Granted, the Blue Typhoon appearing suddenly and so conviently was kinda irritating, but what can I do? They needed a ride, although I still would have accepted if they decided to join with Eggman to defeat Metarexes and all, putting good and evil aside and all that jazz. The consequences would have been hilarious. I mean, the giant spaceship I see in Eggman, but not Tails, yet at the same time it does benefit him. After all, it's showing development on Tails' part by showing him his skills as a mechanic is improving. That's a great step for someone who needed more episodes dedicated to him in the previous episodes of Sonic X.
Speaking of character development, the little scene of Cream and Vanilla, although short, was very sweet. I have reasons to believe Vanilla doesn't know fully that Cream is heading off to space. I know she cares for Cream, so I thought she's show more concern. Vanilla sounds like she isn't too concerned, making me believe what Cream is going to do is just to play with Tails in her eyes. I'm not sure what the original version of Sonic X does, all I know is it's kinda cute yet sad at the same time.
Other notables include Knuckles, especially when he was peeved at the others for stealing the ME without his consent. His behavior was hilarious and the entire scene made me chuckle. Yet at the same time, he's also showing off his social side. He's not alone as he used to be. Heck, he was with the others when they were welcoming Chris and he went as far as traveling with them. Granted, it could probably be because of the ME, but Knuckles wouldn't deny helping those in great need. It shows he's come a long way since episode 1. A long way indeed.
And Chris, wow--Chris is no longer the Chris I know. Aside from knowing a great deal more technology, he was actually shown using them to great extent. He doesn't seem to whine or get emotional, although it's still far too early, but so far, he's maturity from aging is greatly showing. Wonderful. With this much charm in the characters, I am very happy to say I'm more excited to see how they're gonna develop over the course of the series.
The animations and music were decent, and the voices, most were decent. It was truly Knuckles who stood out. His angry side is what captivated me the most, and while she still sounds a bit too soft-spoken and whisper-like, Cosmo's voice is beautiful. I haven't been this blown away since Tikal of Sonic Adventure, heck, not even. Since Ansem of Kingdom Hearts whom Billy Zane did SUCH an awesome job with. I'm looking forward to a lot.
10/10

I hafta say, when I read that (and your mention of Cream going to ask her mother for permission) I had to wonder a bit since, in the later French eps...
Spoilers (Select To Read) When Vector goes to bring Cream back, she tells him "It's true that I left without saying anything." |
Ah well. Nice review.
Cream's "Goodbye Mother, Goodbye" line had to be the creepiest thing I've ever heard.
*doesn't look*
This one answers some of the questions that weren't in the last one.
1: Why Chris stepped into the Grand Tour and
2: What the plot of the season is(I think). 1 year on Earth = 1 month on Sonic's planet. Does it have a name?
I think Chris is a scientist now. As a kid, he doesn't have such a title, but he has such knowledge. Useful knowledge. Since Angel Island fell back down, it's probabally gonna die along with the rest of the planet. I'm beginning to think it's Eggman's fault Sonic got exausted, with "bug" and all. It could have drained him of his strength. Sonic recovers anyway at Vanilla's. He did better here. I think Sonic can use the Master Emerald to become Super Sonic. I saw Mecha Sonic do it so I'm just saying...
The Blue Typhoon is huge! And it took only 6 months to make. With it's help, the action heats up...for Sonic. Sonic is part hedgehog, part ball, part buzzsaw. His ball portion comes useful as he shoots himself at...a bunch of missles in their source. When ever Sonic blows up a robot, he doesn't get caught in an explosion. If I'm forgetting a time when he did, then fill me in. This episode was better than the last due to bigger explanations. I'm hoping Chris will use his scientific knowledge to assist. Then again, this applies mainly to Tails and, way back when, Chuck. How will Chris fit in when he "can't even breathe in space", I don't know. I'll just have to watch and find out.
I can't watch Pokemon due to timeslots. Ow well. At lease it reruns.
Whoa. The time variations between the two worlds are really wacked. In episode 52, we figured out that 1 day (Chris' world) = 1 week (Sonic's world). Now it's 1 year (Chris' world) = 1 month (Sonic's world). They can't seem to make up their mind, can they?
If they do bring the timestones into this, then it will be very interesting...
