Hey guys
First: Sorry about the bad spelling. My english is kinda rusty.
Anyway;
A couple of days ago i was going through my stuff at my parents house, and found my sega. Plugged it in and i havent been able to stay away from it ever since.
Unfortunatly Ive finished the games i already have, and are now looking for new once.
I've found a couple of places online where they sell 'em, but I dont know if the new games will work in my sega from 95.
It's not a sega dreamcast.
I know nothing what so ever about computers....so if anyone can inlighten me
Best Wishes
Rikke, Denmark
Firstly, yay for Amber Benson fans! =p
Secondly, Ebay is your best shot. What system (Mega Drive, Saturn, etc.) do you have?
That's the problem...I have no idea what kind it is.
If there ever were any stickers on it, they have been taken of.
I'll check Ebay to see if I can find one similare...
Thanks for the reply
okay, here's a pic

So, according to the internet its a "Sega Master System".
Is the new sega games dvd/cd? or is it oldschool "tapes"?
Ahh that brings back memories of Alex Kidd. That is true 8-bit oldschool SEGA glory.
*laughing* who's Alex Kidd?
the newest games are all on CD-like disks, not 'tapes'. the most sonic games are currently on the gamecube.
thanks *smiles*
Denmark?! My favorite toy is made there...LEGOS! To make your eBay searching easier, try searching for cartriges, not "tapes"...
Edit: Scratch what I had said before. CyberKnux corrected me.
I like the quotes in you signiture LazyKeen.
Genesis = Mega Drive. Master System here, which is the predecessor to Genesis/MD.
So LazyKeen, the only Ebay searches you do should include the words 'Master System'. Though I'm sure some will simply be labeled 'Sega', as that's what many people tended to call the original Sega system (which is this Master System). Both models of this machine, Master System 1 and 2, will play any game labeled 'Master System'.
The Master System game boxes have trademark white strips at the top and bottom, with a criss-crossing line pattern (additionally, they tend to say 'SEGA Master System' at the top ). The cartidges (tapes) that contain the actual game data on them are straight black with a reddish-brown bar at the top that has the game's title on it. That's stuff you can look out for if you need to be sure it's a game that's right for your machine.
And yeah, I believe games still had region protection back when MS was alive, so you'll want to look for games that have come from 'PAL' territory - that is, Europe, Australia and New Zealand (where I live ^^).
Now... I believe some some MS games exist as game cards instead of cartridges (I've only ever seen one like this, it was the game Space Harrier), I don't know what the deal is with that, but I'm sure someone else can enlighten you.
If you find that you really really enjoy your games playing, you might consider coming into the latest generation and buying a more recent games machine. Whilst there are some ultra powerful new machines just released and on the horizon, you'll find they're not going to be price friendly. You can pick up a current generation machine the likes of a Nintendo GameCube (which has many Sonic games) relatively cheap these days. Just a suggestion if you ever find that the good ol' MS ain't doin' it for you anymore.
Oh, and to answer your question, 'Alex Kidd' is the star of an absolutely classic game series. In fact, if you turn your MS on without having a game cartridge inserted, you may just find your machine has the Alex Kidd in Miracle World game built in.
Here's the link for the Master System games category on Ebay UK. Just about anything you buy from this category will work fine with your Master System.
Thanks guys.
You all just saved my day!
Thanks for the link. I've made a bet for a couple of tapes, now i'll just have to wait and see what happens
If it does work, maybe i should think about entering the new world or gamemashines. *lol*
When i turn my sega on with out any cartridges, i got the first sonic game on it...not Alex Kidd. But maybe i should look for the alex kidd game. could be cool. I love the old 2D and everything that comes along. It's cool and cult.
Cyperknux: are you from New Zealand? -almost like family thise days -with Princess Mary and everything
btw: LEGO rocks....love the theme-park Almost better then Disney Land...
Once again; thanks!
I'll be sticking around. I can probably learn a thing or two from you lot.

Actually, Princess Mary isn't from New Zealand, she's from the state of Tasmania which belongs to Australia. I should know, as it's all our TV stations and newspapers were flooded with for like 4 months. >>
