Kind of want.
Any extras would be cool for me. Even if it does look a little weird.
Upon seeing that "figurine". o_(O) *is now haunted the rest of his natural life*
Free stuff is good. It reminds me of a nativity figurine for some reason.
That figurine may not be as "cool" over here in the US, but maybe they'll give out shirts or something.
Me Vulpix thinks thats adorable!
OMG.
That keychain is awesome.
Wow it is awesome. I surely would like to preorder, but I can barely afford to look at the little money I have. It hurts too much. >_> Anyone want to donate...a copy of Nights along with the items and schick? Please!!!?
^_^
Pics of NiGHTS using the Wii Weather Channel. Look like NiGHTS is gonna have it very own Chao Garden(I wonder if the kids will say Eggman line "josh" when they are petting the Nightopians ). Here hoping creating a Mepian(Nightmaren and Nightopians hybrid), King Pian and SuperPian is easier than it was in the first game.
I don't mean to be nit-picky, but that "garden" doesn't even look like it's done being created. The grass texture alone looks very N64-ish.
1UP explain My Dream and multiplayer modes. Battle mode sounds cool although I wish there would have been more characters to choose from like Elliot or Claris.
The Nights advertisement card that is packaged with Mario and Sonic says that the game uses Wii Remote-specific controls, so i guess motion controls have been added! I'm getting pretty excited about this game.
Anyone watch this new movie yet? Was trying to watch it, but it froze up last night and I never got to finish it. 😛
A new Nightmaren Boss revealed: a very screw up cat wizard/mariachi.
I guess one of kids had a dream of how Samba De Amigo and Blaze the Cat child would look like and that how that Nightmaren was born.
edit- Same pics as above but this ones include concept artwork too. Wizeman look impresive.
If I get this game, I will not fight that boss at late night. *shudders* It's freaky!
Game Radar already play and finish a preview build of the game. Seems the game is pretty good except:
Quote:
But the one thing that made us cry out 'oh no! ' is that NiGHTS now talks. Alright, we know he used to make some vocal noises in the original, but now we get fully animated cut-scenes using the in-game engine to further the plot. And his voice is horrible. It sounds like a girl pretending to be a boy, with an 'American trying to sound British' accent that ends up sounding Australian. Think Ross' attempt at being English in Friends or Dick Van Dyke in Mary Poppins. All voiced by Noddy - the happiest little fellow in all Toyland. Fortunately, while you're actually playing, NiGHTs is silent and serene, but when you can't skip the cutscenes, there's no escaping the horror.
Also it seem NiGHTS gameplay is better than the Dreamers even though they are not perfect.
Quote:
But we do have one nagging concern. Apart from NiGHTS' voice, it's the control that really worries us at this stage. Basic flight is not as responsive as before and you'll often find yourself overshooting a right-angled hoop just because of the delay. It also feels a tad 'digital' with the analog stick on the nunchuk, although we didn't have a Gamecube controller with us to test it as the team's been playing it. There's still time to sort it out and you can work around it, but we did feel half the battle was against the controls in the preview build.
As for bosses.
Quote:
We saw some new bosses we hadn't seen before including a spider that drops balls of silk that you have to drill dash to smash the platform it's standing on (tricky) and a Cerberus boss with a chain you must attack so that its heads bang together.
So we got a spider boss and dog boss.
I'm sure a lot of gamers may want to scream bad voice acting! immediately after reading this, but i'm going to hold off judgement til i play the game christmas morning.

Christmas morning? I hate to break it to ya, Krayon, but the game has been delayed. Check it out: www.nightsintodreams.com/NiD/index.htm
I was looking forward to playing it Christmas morning as well. Instead I'll just have to stick to my tradition of playing Christmas NiGHTS at least once during the week of Christmas. ^_^
haha wow, and here i thought i was on top of things...
A game from Sega is delayed?!!!
*see pigs are actually flying*
Anyway, does the previews say the game is turning out okay?
I wouldn't trust them if they said it was. They said that Sonic 2K6 was turning out alright, too.
And if they say it needs polish, be very, very wary. Sega and "polish" just never go in the same sentence anymore. Ever. Unless you're saying "I am a Polish citizen and I like Sega", but even then, I meant polish as in clean up, not as in reference to Poland (which, through this mention, I did not forget).
Some new pics mix with old. I like the CG artwork of Reala and Wizeman . That cat boss gets creepier and creepier with every pic release.
Geez...that cat should make this game M. 😛 But yea Wizeman is obviously in the wrong dream[nonetheless game]. I believe he's looking for Shadow's dream, because that is obviously Black Doom and Doom Eye's hands in that pic. *massacred*
So no Jackle @ Chamelon boss
I'm really excited for this game -- I always wanted to play the original for Sega Saturn...but I never owned a Saturn and didn't know any friends who did. Funny story; I never even touched a Saturn until the summer of 2006 and the only game I played was Bug!. Hopefuly it'll be a fun experience.
I snagged a "NiGHTS JOD Behind the Scenes DVD" at work (GameStop) today. We're giving them out as an incentive for people to reserve the game.
The DVD has seven minutes of footage telling the history of the game, Nights' many cameos, and the decision to finally give the fans what they want by making a sequel.
What I found odd was every time they mentioned Wizeman they had a shot of Reala, which I thought gave the impression that Reala was Wizeman. Actually, throughout the entire video I didn't notice any actual footage of Wizeman himself. This may be an error on GameTap's part since it's presented by their "Tapping In" segment.
Also, I thought it was kinda funny that nowhere in the DVD was Yuji Naka mentioned. I know he's no longer with Sonic Team, but didn't he create the whole idea of NiGHTS? /fanboy anger
Anyway, it's a nice little DVD and is definitely a nice addition to my NiGHTS collection. If you can pick one up, I recommend it. It's something to tide us over until the game's release.
First day JP sales: 7,000
bomba yikes!
This game seemed to be getting mixed impressions.
wha?!
Seriously, that low?
Where did you hear this from?
I didn't think this game would do really good but I definately didn't see this coming
I thought it had been delayed to january?
It's official - Japan doesn't hate Sonic. Japan hates SEGA. XD
^Except that they like Ryu ga Gotoku.
Thats only because if they don't buy it, they have their fingers cut off.
Its an extension of the Segata Sanshiro concept.
FACT.
Here are the first day sales of new game titles released in Japan on December 13, 2007:
Quote:
1-Gran Turismo 5 Prologue (PS3, Sony) - 50,000
2-Chocobo no Fushigi na Dungeon: Toki Wasure no Meikyuu (Wii, Square Enix) - 30,000
3-Kingdom Under Fire: Circle of Doom (X360, Microsoft) - 8,000
4-NiGHTS Journey of Dreams (Wii, Sega) - 7,000
5-Soul Calibur Legends (Wii, Bandai Namco) - 5,000
6-Kirarin Revolution Tsukutte Misechao! Kime*Kira Stage (NDS, Konami) - 5,000
7-We Love Golf! (Wii, Capcom) - 4,000
8-Shikigami no Shiro 3 (X360, Arc System Works) - 1,500
9-Shikigami no Shiro 3 (Wii, Arc System Works) - 500
Well at least the game came in fourth place. Why are people buying Chocobo games anyway?
Quote:
Except that they like Ryu ga Gotoku
And Virtua Fighter 5 .
Today I turned on the TV and a NiGHTS commercial was in midplay, looks pretty neat in motion.

Where it place on sales charts, doesn't really matter. What matters is how many units did it sell and 10% of the initial shipment on the first day is not a good sign. As to answer your question, it's a Final Fantasy spinoff.
Quote:
And Virtua Fighter 5
Well, at least the arcade version, anyway.
That said, I'm not sure if it will fare that much better here also. I have a feeling it will get overshadowed by Guitar Hero III, Wii Play, and Mario & Sonic Olympics. This is not even counting Mario Galaxy.
Seems it's like 1996 again.

Hehe, yeah. Wasn't NiD Sega's attempted combatant against Mario 64? Not that I'm saying JoD is their attempt against Mario Galaxy. That'd just be ca-razy.
I don't know about that hasn't Galaxy done a bit poo in Japan so far. I remember seeing it at No. 10 in the Japanese charts, behind Mario and Sonic go to the Olympic Games for honourable mini game based compendium. Actual name by the way. Still its better than NiGHTS.
Maybe US and Europe have timed its release well. Sonic Heroes came out after Christmas and it did very good.
Poor NiGHTS. The strange thing is from all that is revealed it doesn't seem to be a train wreck that deserves to be ignored.
And who'd thought a demo of a demo would do so well?

I think MG is above 400,000 units by now. Still, it goes to show that the Japanese or at least the Wii gamers there have crap taste.
Thankfully Mario Galaxy, sold over a million in the U.S.(compared to 320K for M&S Olympics) here so depending on if Nintendo of Japan is paying attention to the U.S. market or not, the Wii won't get that heavily bombarded with mini-games instead of full-fledged ones.

It's already out in the U.S. and I don't think the MG train is slowing down anytime soon.
There's also another video here.
After the Donbalon fight- we see that the Link Challenge has returned! Now there's this- Octopaw? That leads the way, it seems. (Do you guys hear that Ideya-capture-return-thing jingle too?)
I know I hadn't gotten around to it before, but I love the boss fight music. I wonder what the other boss themes sound like.
IGN seems to be the worst review out there. If you scroll down to the bottom the only user review is a guy who said "I am soooooooooooo disappointed with this game I thought it was going to be good if you are a hardcore NiGHTS fan do not play this game"
Oh boy. That is true though...everyone else gave it better, mostly. I can't see it being that bad though. Has Sonic Team truly and really lost it? =/
IGN isn't the only one who seemed unimpressed, there seemed to be plenty of regular folks(many who've played the original) who have mixed feelings or is not liking the game.
I don't pay much attention to the final score of review sites, but I do read impressions from regular gamers.
Yea, scores usually don't bother me at all...but I wanted this game to be classified as "Great" or something. But Passable. Bleh.

NiGHTS: Journey of Dreams
Sega rewrites its Harlequin romance
Shane, score: 7.0 (good)
- If you harbor fond memories of the original NiGHTS into Dreams for the Sega Saturn, you'll surely welcome this decade-late sequel with open arms...well, at least once you eschew the abhorrent new Wii-mote control scheme for a Classic Controller or GameCube pad. Journey feels slavishly faithful to its predecessor in every respect, from the parallel mission structure for its two preteen protagonists to its imminently hummable Enya-meets-Disney soundtrack. Despite a few meager tweaks, the core gameplay remains intact: As the weirdly asexual NiGHTS, you soar past surreal landscapes on a set, on-rails path, balancing speed, precision, and acrobatic tricks in order to finish with a high score. This old-school approach may not click for newbies (or the young tykes who will appreciate its for-babies-only narrative), but few Wii titles offer such addictive, finesse-driven mechanics and rewarding challenge. If only the same could be said for the amateur-ish 3D platforming levels, confusing boss encounters, and undercooked A-Life virtual pet minigame...Milkman, score: 7.5 (good)
- I'm a little disappointed that the new NiGHTS didn't blow me away like I was hoping it would. But the original Saturn game was so innovative, so complete, that nothing short of a next-gen reinvention was going to satisfy me 11 years later. That said, I did enjoy playing this conservative sequel, thanks to the re-created symphonic score, the top-notch voice acting, and the solid controls (provided you ditch the Wii-mote). It'd be easy to write this one off as child's play, but it has a hidden depth that reveals itself over time.Sam, score: 7.0 (good)
- As someone who didn't have that affinity toward the original as many others, I found Journey bizarre at first but quickly became captivated thanks to its fantastical atmosphere. While the game suffers from some basic issues, like uneven graphics, unskippable story sequences, and a lack of checkpoints, it offers a welcome challenge and a gameplay experience unlike any on the market. Just be sure to at least plug in a Nunchuk and you'll be flying fine. The Good: Lovely aesthetics, lush music
The Bad: Lean on content, some confusing bosses
Unplayable: The new Wii Remote controls
I haven't read all the reviews yet, but there seems to be a common theme in all the ones i've read. 1) The game isn't technically good enough to give it a GREAT rating, and 2) the game's a ton of fun to play. In my book addictive and exciting gameplay overide the technicalities anyday.
