I posted this ages ago on the SSMB and I want to see what the people here think of it.

This comes from a magazine called Dreamcast Magazine in January 2001. I've had this for years but only got a scanner yesterday. Sorry it's in back and white (I had to reduce the file size). The pictures are just pictures from Sonic Adventure 2. Also in the article there is talk of a sonic compilation for the DC with Sonic Xtreme on.
About a month after this was announced SEGA quit the hardware market so I guess Sonic Team scrapped the project or turned it into Sonic Heroes.
As far as the facts are concerned, this is nothing but a rumour, and a very shaky one at that. The magazine doesn't provide any details about the game other than the fact that it's "a continuation of SA2", and there's no mentiuon of when or where SEGA made this announcement.
That "continuation of SA2" was probably just SA2:Battle for the Gamecube.
Unfortunately, we probably will never see SA3 since it's been so long since the first two and other games have since come out.
To the best of my knowledge (which is admittedly highly fallible), Sonic Heroes was originally supposed to be SA3.
Releasing the unfinished Sonic Xtreme also seems very shaky...How do you release a game that isn't even close to completion!?! Why would you bother assembling a team of programmers to finish a game that is already dated? It seems to be more wishful thinking than anything...

Uh...dude...are you color blind? Looks pretty colorful to me!
"Even before the second in the series has come out" and that it would come out 18 months later.
