I wouldn't call it a Speed-Run given very few people are out there to compare times or anything... so instead let's just consider it a glance at this very elusive and lesser-known title.
Undoubtedly some of you have already watched this, but still.

This is the first time I've ever seen the game in motion. I owe you a kings ransom Hoggy
*Watch*
First time I've ever seen the game in action. The trackball seems like a chore to handle.
I can see why they decided not to include this in the gems collection. Adapting trackball controls to an analog stick would be real tricky.
The game looks pretty tough. It was a cool glitch were you could still move your shadow after being killed.
Uh, no, that was likely bad framerate. I've seen it happen before; things that are supposed to flash have the visible frames skipped over in the frameskip. The result? Invisibility.
Video doesnt work for me, I get sound but no picture
i'm on broadband, and it's still taken me way over 20 mins to download this.
and i'm not getting a video either, media player mentioned something about a codec while trying to play this. xx;
I believe that it uses a Divx codec, but I try to confirm this later.
Media Player, real player and quick time, tried them all and neither works...
And, like Chibi it took 22 minutes to download
i downloaded and installed this codec and the video plays for me now. ^^ *settles down to watch*
Edit: well, that was interesting. i liked the different feel of the levels there, and sonic's animation was alot different to the games i've played.
sonic sure went 'waagh!' alot. oo;
I didnt mind before, but now I REALLY REALLY REALLY want to play that...
And its not going to be on the gems collection
NOOOOOOOOOOOO.....
SegaSonic looks pretty cool. This is the first time I've seen a video of it. I'm interested in playing it now.
One of the weird things I noticed though is Sonic has a lifebar.
not only does he have a lifebar, but rings increase it. i like that idea, as you don't loose all your rings and have to scramble to recollect them whenever you're hit.
I think that the video's been taken down - is anyone able to reupload it anywhere?
It seems they took down "easy" and replaced it with "hardest". I'mml redownload and see what changed.
Okay, this is what changed:

That week will definitely be the "SegaSonic week" !
Because of the great interest for the 15" video I made from the game, and according to the different opinions and reactions, I've decided to make a better video in replacement of the old one, featuring :
- 2 mins longer
- higher difficulty (difficulty 4/4, vitality 2/4)
- better game skill, more accurate
- 3 characters, instead of 2
- misc aspects of the game not showed in the old videoThe aim with this new video is to show that SegaSonic is not a game that you inevitably finish in 15 mins.
The game is short, but its interest comes from the scroing (like many arcade games), helped by a fine gameplay, that can be really accurate, bringing an interesting balance between the appearing low difficulty and the quest of rings in view of beating the high score. It may also help to understand the reasons of the abscence of SegaSonic from Sonic Gems Collection : the game would lose all its gaming interest with an analog stick...
Have a nice show 🙂
I can tell people now that it's a game not really controllable with a keyboard...
So, having it missing from Sonic Gems won't be completely incomprehensible.
It's... an interesting game, but short.
Look at those nice Trackball
that's with them segakore played Segasonic...
playing with 2 players is difficult when you have to move your hand endlessly...
Still related to arcade :
This is my Sonic the fighter machine...
Solly has everything.
But I have a Pecky keychain.
I wonder if Segakore has any way of getting a ROM of SegaSonic up somehow...
Been around for a LOOOOOOONG time, man. You just can't emulate it properly... yet.
Ah, yes. You can emulate that bad boy with Modeler, though it's still a work in progress... as far as I know. I have a version of it, but it won't let me use my PC's gamepad. Playing SegaSonic the Hedgehog with the keyboard is REALLY hard.
Not with Modeler but with mame with a system 32 extension...
Segakore doesn't deal with ROMS anymore, to please sega france. Then, useless to ask him for roms...
Roms are already going on internet.
But right, Segasonic is still hard to emulate...
But something is bothering me...
on the arcade PCB the sound is MONO
through MAME/modeler manage to have a stereo sound
...Solly... will you marry me?
No way!!...
Solly is mine... She won't say NO... my cellar is so packed with famous wines!!...
Wah ah ah ah ah ah ah ah ah ah ah ah ah ah ah!!...
I found Modeler better than Mame, personally. Mame I've never liked...
Vlad knows what attract me
anyway, mame system32 is a better version of modeler
Don't forget I'm the Ultimate Death Form, my dear!!...
Wah ah ah ah ah ah ah ah ah!!...
Anyway, Connegratulations to you and YS for these videos!!...
Cheers!!...
Wah ah ah ah ah ah ah ah aht is "Wah ah ah ah ah ah ah ah ah!!..." supposed to me ea ea ea ea ea ea ea ea ea ean?
Jealous?

If it's Japanese auctions of rare Sonic merchandise, then I think your secret is out Vlad.
YS did the whole video by himself
But I think he used my trackballs.
Since he had to make some for himself.
Apparently there's been a new release of Mame that runs the game rather well now... I mean, without the trackball it's not as hot as it could be, but it's still supposed to be pretty tight. I'll look into that later.
