That guy really reminds me of the Fuyutski character from Neon Genesis Evangelion, with the coat, hair etc. Might be interesting to see if he isn't the true G.U.N commander, but instead exacts his orders for him.

Well, besides the pictures I posted a while back, Shadow's game page positively confirms Shadow the Hedgehog is rated E-10+ because of fantasy violence and mild language. I presume the mild language is things like crap, crud, freakin', etc. because I cannot fathom a Sonic game or spin-off actually using real cuss words. Any thoughts?

Well, EE, according to these pics and Shadow's game page, he's E-10+ but according to the ESRB's website it's T. I hope the pic and gamepage are right, but there's a possiblity that they're wrong, of course so could the ESRB website. I'm hoping the one that updates the ESRB website was looking at the wrong game when he put a T on Shadow.

Why? The game just OOZES T, honestly. Then there's the fact that Sega themselves wouldn't let anyone younger than 13 play the game when they showed it off.

About the language, they've cussed before in previous Sonic games. But only in Japanese, though.

Exactly. The level of realism they have with the gunplay screams T rating. 'Fantasy violence' or 'cartoon violence' doesn't come into mind especially with the last trailor.

Well Rouge did call someone a "dirty bastard" in english in the japanese version Sonic Battle .

I agree that there's the possibility of the ESRB site to be wrong. Just recently, Marvel Nemesis was rated M because of the fatality-like finishers, language, and the surprise amount of gore it has (very surprising, seeing how this is a game based on the known heroes of Marvel), but then it was reverted back to T. The same could apply for StH. Then again, I can be wrong.

Some words we consider offensive, aren't offensive in Japan. In Japan, the Japanese translation of "bastard" isn't a cuss word to them.

I think a few of our words translated to Japan may be cuss words to them, which are used every day. Isn't the Japanese translation of "crap" a cuss word?

Shadow looks completely and utterly psychotic in the new trailer, and I don't think I like it. The rest is good, however. Yeah, like the Chaotix going along with Sonic and co.

anyway, someone from another site posted a video when he went to a convention and played games like Sonic Rush and Shadow (as well as LoZ:TP and stuff):

^^^the Shadow video is at about 13:24 the good parts (IMO) are at 20:25. about 45:29 they go back to Shadow again.

but so far, it's a cheap video. it has no color and no sound. it also took about 1 hour+ to download. he plans to put up a better one 2 weeks from now. so if you wanna wait you can. anyway, i like what i saw:

-Shadow on a motorbike for a second or two before the guy fell of a cliff. seems that you can go on bouncers with it.
-more of Knuckles was seen. the partner AI looks pretty good. when the aliens were ganging up on Shadow, Knux helped out. but of course he doesn't help you with the G.U.N soldiers.
-the graphics are definately the best a 3D Sonic game has ever had so far.
-you see the "Choose mission" option at the pause menu. there you see three icons. one shows Doom's Eye (dark mission) another icon shows the chaos emerald (neutral mission) and the third one showed Knuckles (hero mission). the guy could change missions any time he liked. he even did it (changed it from hero to neutral) at the very ending of the level in front of the goal ring so that he would get an emerald....dunno if it worked though (either that wasn't a level with an emerald or that's cheating).
-you can use desert storm tornadoes to go up to higher places.
-overall look more challenging than Heroes.
-there is an expert mode. probably the Super Hard Mode of this game.
-normal in-game cutscenes look better than other 3D Sonic games before it (ex: the characters stand still normally).
-Sonic and the Choatix can be seen running into action.
-this confirms that when Sonic was looking beat up that Shadow was helping him out.

Ooh sounds interesting. I'd like to go to TGS and play the games.

I tryed to translate the official profile of BlackDoom but English isn't my first language, so it became bad translation.

Looking at the trailer and what actually happens at the specific time with the lyrics is actually quite interesting, and it certainly makes it look better then randomly placing parts of the FMV together. I wonder if anyone else noticed this? Maybe it'll also help show what the lyrics really are.

For instance, I see no, hear no evil... has Shadow racing forward on the motorcycle against the Black Doom monsters, and is the first example of how the loyalty lines will cross.
Black writing on the wall... shows the battle between G.U.N forces and Black Doom, and of how both sides arent exactly pure and such.
Unleash a million faces... The Black Doom monsters fall from the sky, and there are literally millions of them.
And one by one they fall! This again shows the Black Doom falling, with the larger one falling and destroying the car.

Black hearted evil! Showing how the Black Doom are the greater evil through punching away the oncoming vehicle.
Brave hearted evil! Despite the fact that the G.U.N forces are indeed evil in the sense of the events of Ark, they are no doubt brave in terms of combating the Black Doom against such hopeless odds.

Cool looking trailer.

Whilst I agree on most of the lyrics, after saying 'Can see all of of me, walk into my history'

It sounds like they are saying 'Step inside and hold on for dear life' and its makes sense to me because Shadow is getting involved in a war between Eggman, G.U.N. AND the aliens and he'll need to fight to survive no matter who he helps.

That shot of the entire group is pretty sweet. Though Rouge and Knuckles shouldn't be there if Omega isn't there. I mean, come on... Omega!

Yay thanks Creosote. Now i'm off to watch it. Watched it. Well...Holy Hell! Totally kickass. I love how the aliens are just causing total chaos. It's so awesome. I thought what Shaodw did on SA2 was big, but no, this is way bigger. And some of those aliens look really tough. And if you recall when he teleports...that isn't the Chaos Control we know and love is it? I think it may be a new ability for short distance time warping or something. Hopefully we can use that in the game. It's really weird seeing humans get gunned down and stuff. Anyway...from the looks of it Shadow may be in my top 5 favorite Sonic Team games.

Forgot to mention - The theme may be my favorite out of the past three big Sonic games. It seems to represent Shadow perfectly.

Ontopic. What he's using in the trailer is Chaos Control, no doubt about it. I am 99% sure we won't be able to use that in-game. I also think this is more of a bastardization of Shadow more than anything, rather than his peak...

However, I'm willing to give the game a try. I think a bit higher of it than I did at first...Still have my nitpicks though. Ooooh, the nitpicks. THE NITPICKS!!!

And yes, I agree it WONT be available in gameplay for 2 reasons:
It wouldnt work in gameplay
If it did it would make things 2 easy

And, I dont think this game is RUINING his character, it is actually quite a good continuation of his character. He always liked using Chaos Control to zoom around, no reason why he couldn't use it in battle...

The music, well, I think I've fallen in love with this latest Crush 40 offering...
And although this game certainly has nitpicks, I'm glad they've gone down with this route with Shadow because, well, their right.
He ISN'T sonic, and its a brilliant experiment that I hope pays of well. As far as I can tell there are only a few ways this can go wrong:

Bad cutscene dialogue, like Sonic Heroes...

The game being too short or to easy, although the different enings might relieve the former slightly

Bad controls too lose like Sonic Heroes

Not enough freedom with the weapons (IE. use gun here, use sword here, this is a bazooka area) so on and so forth
Sonic X Voice actors not rasing their game, I know their good but PLEASE put some emotion into it guys...

Shadows past NOT being resolved by the end, or maybe nothing being resolved, I dont care if we dont know the whole story as long as we get something CONCRETE

If the game avoids most of them, then I'll be a VERY happy gamer

Anyone else think that TGS trailer might be the attract movie that plays when you leave the game on the start screen? It's all cut-scene with no in=game footage like the Sonic Heroes one, and all the elements are there (Shadow being angsty, token action, shots introducing all the major players...). Not anything major I know, but just something I noticed.
