Edit: Finished watching...And it's barely different from Heroes besides the obvious differences. The characters constantly blab annoyingly and there's switches.
From that picture you posted, Psxphile, I assume that there are 22 levels/goals:
The central stream may be for "Netural".
The top/bottom break off from the neutral walk may be for good/evil.
The final break off, both with three final levels, (first and last rows) may act as the finale zones for the good/evil sides.
This is just a fun guess. 
I'm probably wrong, but we'll see.

That's ten different endings, I heard that somewhere.
Looks to me, with the crossovers, that if you take route hero after the second level thing, you can actually drop down, but only as far as neutral. And if you take Villain, you can rise up. You can redeem yourself or degrade yourself.
I'd say the Hero routes involve aiding Gun and Sonic, while the villain routes involve helping Eggman or those creepy alien dudes. Neutral, I guess you're all out for yourself. To get Shadow's full memories, presumably you have to find them all.
I wonder which is the 'special' ending?
Personally I think it will be the one where Shadow finds out he's been a neutral angsty badass type all the time. His place is in the middle.

Well I finally downloaded the Knuckles video. I must say Dan Green sounds better in the game than in the anime. He sound more like Yugi than Yami(guess we call him Yugi Knuckles). I did catch some of the dialogue Knuckles was saying.

actually HSW, the keys don't seem like they will be for the Emeralds since Shadow earns the emeralds at the end of neutral missions. and i remember that one time i saw a shot of the level select screen before and they kept track of how many keys you had.

I thought there where no keys in the boss fights of Heroes? So it may serve a different purpose.

*blink* I didn't get that impression from that screen... it just looked to me that the lit blue squares showed your current path.
The game will have some nice longevity, which is refreshing. The boss seems very similar to the sonic heroes in style. I hope somemore new stuff about the game, pops up soon.

Well see CCL if you notice in the pic, the little paths between the boxes show where you can go after completing a mission. So some of the boxes have paths that go backwards at an angle. Look at the pic you'll see what I mean. Although...you might be correct, it doesn't mean you can go back in time necessarily.

Sorry, but I don't. =P The angled lines just seem to indicate a potential path change (good, bad, neutral) as you progress, showing how a path branches out to a possible ending. I don't see anything that specifically indicates them going backwards.
Wel maybe I was just hoping to see that feature and tried to turn the many different angled lines into going backwards. Oh well. 
If that IS a level select screen you could potentially go backwards and take another path diverging from a different point....
It might look like a dogs dinner at first but thinking about it that level select screen has great potential for a well thought out diverging plotline...

Perhaps that's what they mean by being able to go back in time. I was thinking it was an ingame feature, eg. press Z to rewind back to the last checkpoint or such, but this looks like it might be what they were referring to.
This site has a whole bunch of screenshots from the Neutral storyline. The most interesting shots show that Omega is indeed in this game, and that there's a whooole bunch of Shadow clones.

XDXD! That's terrible though, it's like a little over a month and a half from release and one of the first levels(looks like Westopolis to me) they showed has some cheap graphics of Sonic standing through the ground.

Well for some reaon I can't download it because of my dumb pop-ups, but it seems that is literally a video of one entire playthrough as neutral. It's like 47 mins long. I don't even know if i'd want to watch this...it would be like watching someone play the game, it might ruin it for me.
^ Yeah you probably have jinxed it, anyway besides the wierd sonic screenshot. The other spoiler screenshots have gotten me more interested than before. Im not going to watch the movie because I don't want to spoil everything.

in the screenshot with the Shadow clone battle, i read on the bottom of the screen what Eggman said: Eggman (talking to Shadow during the Shadow's fight will the Shadow clones): "That's another of my beloved androids, just like you (<---o.0). say hi and be friends!" also, i remember in one of the older screens with the final Egg robot boss that Eggman referred to himself as Shadow's "master". that sorta indicates that he thinks Shadow's one of his clones/Shadow IS a clone. could Eggy truly know? |
