Spoilers (Select To Read): Ah yes, that Devil Doom battle was fantastic, and the random floating cars were funny.

SHADOW IS IN RIDERS? REALLY? I just figured that since his story's been cleared up we'd never see him again...

Oh and how do you get those cool Shadow posticons?

NOTE: I had a much longer and more intelligent post to go here, but EzBoard made me log in again (even though I was already logged in) and I had to type it all up again...couldn't remember what I wrote...so, yeah.

Yeah, Shadow is in Riders, really, really!:cuckoo Also, if you were hoping Shadow disappears don't count on it because Izuika(or whoever) said that if Shadow was successful they would give him his own series(which I would like); speaking of which, does anyone know how well Shadow has been selling?

By success to whom do they refer to? Do they mean some of the Sonic fanbase who actually like this game or to the larger gaming journalists and public who blasted the HFIL out of this game? If it really is the former then it is proof that this was nothing more than a cheap cash-in purposely put together with no real effort because it can sell as long you have Sonic franchise attached to it(bonus if you add current "anti-blue sky" trends).:annoyed It's like your average to below average movie/TV franchise game or those dang Mario Parties Nintendo release every year because they fricken sell for some reason.:><

I predict that this game did fairly well in the UK(isn't SH still on the top selling charts?) and bombed hard in Japan.

I don't know, I figured they based success on how well it sells. I was actually hoping that the more-in-know on the boards knew what company uses as a barometer for success.

Well, I think Shadow is anything but cheap, I mean I pretty much love all the storylines I've played thus far; though, the pure dark ending left quite a bit to be desired though still enjoyable.

I'm not just talking about the storylines(which I heard resembles bad fanfiction). I'm talking about how the whole game(gameplay, concept, design, etc.) was put together based on impressions on gamers whove played this. It reeks of a focus group-based concept that uses popular gaming trends and developer lazyness to sell a buck. It's like the people who brought us NiGHTS, Burning Rangers, Chu-Chu Rocket, etc. has been replaced by a Bizarro Sonic Team--or at least the B-team of the development group.

Huh. I like the game myself. It was better than Sonic Heroes and I'm glad they ditched the Tag team thingie. My only problem is I don't feel like it cleared up anything. I've gotten... 5 endings I think. I'm just not sure what they want you to believe. That's my biggest problem with this game. Other wise it's cool.

Remember, Jet, when you beat 10 endings it will unlock the final story which will be what ST wants you to take as the true ending.

Well, I've ben playing the game a lot. I might as well give you my full opinion. (Mind you I'm happy because Cena has just lost the title)
Graphics: To me, not offensively bad and fancy graphics do slow down a game but, The game is slower than Heroes and the stages are nowhere near as big. Also a lot of that OMG! I'm in a Sonic rip off from Heroes goes in the first minute or so. So overall. Meh Grahpics and Style.

Sound: Alright to be honest. Some music in the later levels are quite good.

Level design. Bad to be honest. Central City and The Doom will give you nightmares and while there is a bit of change path action from the classics its more dependent on your mission rather than your finding the fastest route

Gameplay. I love some of this game. "The Ark" and "Lost Impact" have great little shooting sections and I dont know why but I love them. Otherwise its a bit Sonic Adventure with guns tacked on not very well. Which is what I did ask for a while back. Also this game does have some of the best bosses in 3D Sonic history. Egg Dealer, Egg Breaker, Blue Falcon and Heavy Dog are great. I wish they hadnt bothered with Wall waking when you triangle jump because in Heroes it was entertaining but in Shadow its easy to die because of it. Also too many pits of death. The Black Bull bosses dont need pit o' death but its there. Grumble.

Story. Spoilers (Select To Read): Right, The story doesnt solve anything. Black Doom created Shadow, Gerald told Shadow to stop Black Doom and he did. I understand that Shadow is the Sonic Adventure 2 Shadow (I think) Eggman was just lying to Shadow because hes mean. And Shadow says that he has put his past behind him. But there was so many silly plot twists. The GUN commander added nothing really. GUN Commander: YOU KILLED EVERYONE. Shadow: O RLY? I must find out for myself, If i did kill everyone I will leap from ARK again. GUN Commander: Okay then, lol. Also I dont like the endings. Lack of Eggman lackey ending hurts me. Imagine after defeating Sonic and Diablon at Lava Shelter. I AM SHADOW ANDROID created by Dr. Robotnik. I will give these emeralds to Dr. Robotnik and he will rule the world. THIS IS WHO I AM! Muhahaha. Also Sonic...Goodbye *KARATE CHOP OF DEATH* Yeah so, I cant understand that Shadow kills Eggman in 3 endings but doesnt kill Sonic or "The Competition"(as he pretty much says in one of them) Probably becuase they would be an outcry of biblical proportions if Shadow kills Sonic. Imagine Sonic fans against Shadow fans out side the Sega office ready to do battle in the name of their 'hog. It would be beautiful. It was all meaningless in the end because Eggman was walking around in the final ending. So rant over.

Overall. I did like this game. It is much better than Heroes. But I think that this game probably should never have happened. Its an April Fools gag from Sega really. Its saying "The problem with gaming at the moment is that the only games that sell feature: Guns, Vehicles and Swearing" only they released it. Its like the Poochie episode of the Simpsons without the irony and without the irony it doesnt have that message.

The game DOES explain some questions about Shadow, just not the one WE'VE been asking...

The question it answers is HOW did Gerald make Shadow and WHY did he also build the Eclipse Cannon...

That's not WHAT WE were asking, but who knows, maybe thats what the Japanese Sonic community wanted to know? Who knows...

Also, in triangle jump you are SUPPOSED to RUN off the end, dont jumo because it just invites you to fall to your death... It's supposed to mak it easier bu just ended up confusing people :p

What was the question we were asking? I'm pretty sure the only thing on everybodies mind was "is it the real Shadow or an android?" and we got our answers to that (hidden away where nobody will actually notice ^^;) .

Yes it does solve questions that the fandom has been asking.

The main question is whether or not Shadow had died in SA2, and whether or not the Shadow in Sonic Heroes was really an android or not. And it solves this.

EDIT: Curse you, Spite!

So how does Sonic Battle tie into all of this?

Depending on the ending, it DOES tell you. There are 2 outcomes: 1 Shadow died. 2: Shadow didn't die.

But in SA2, pay attention to Gerald when he's going insane on tape. He says he made Shadow for revenge, they killed his freinds and so Shadow will kill them.

So why does it say the opposite in Shadow?
Was Shadow incomplete before Marias death?

VCP: Sonci Battle COULD work before Shadow, I mean he recognises the name Gerald and Maria he just doesnt know what happened to them at the start of Shadow...
Debatable...

UK Gamer:
I reckon the following:
Gerald Made biolizard, was a failure
Black Doom helped Gerald make shadow in return for Chaos Emeralds
Gerald realised what Black Doon was up up and built eclipse cannon to destroy the comet
GUN found out about the Eclipse Cannon and attacked the ARK
Maria was killed
Gerald went mad with grief and programmed Shadow to destroy the earth, at least his revenge would take it out and Black Doom wouldn't get it...

Beat this game (as in, completed the last story) earlier this week...(I had a tough time staying away from all the spoilers! Managed to do it, though! ;-P)
IMO it wasn't all that bad, though the main reason I got it was for the story line(s). I pretty much avoided the guns IF I could, and just used a combination of speed and homing attack (or Chaos Control or Chaos Blast) to get through the levels. That way, it would feel a bit more like a Sonic game than a shoot-everything-that-moves type game. (I'm not really into shooting games, though there are a few exceptions...ex: Mech Warrior, though that was a LONG time ago!)

I still have three levels that I never came across, so I hope one of those explains how he survived the fall from the ARK (unless I somehow accidently skipped past that scene, or wasn't paying attention, since I was trying to get through the game before school started back up).

The main levels that gave me trouble were those ARK levels! I kept on going around in circles, especially for the one with *heal all the wounded* as the hero mission! For that one, I was just trying to reach the goal ring, and ended up wandering the level for nearly and hour (don't ask) (and Chaos Control didn't seem to help my situation at all)...and when I finally DID get somewhere, my game FROZE! But I reset and remembered where to go, and thus got through the level. Now...the sad thing is that I had played through that level before and found the goal ring before (so it should have been easier, right?)...and I'm not so sure I remember where to go again for when I need replay that level to get all A's and more story lines (I was really tired when I figured it out, so I think it went in one ear and out the other)!

And, thanks to this forum, I couldn't listen to Vector saying **FIND THE COMPUTER ROOM!** without bursting out laughing!^^
And as for characters never being able to talk without moving their hands...my cousin and I sure had fun imitating that one!^^

(Edit: (yeah, I know...I edit stuff a lot...but I have a tendancy to remember something right as I hit the post button!) I mentioned in anther topic (little things I notice) that I've seen the Egg Dealer attack itself during the intro Missle Fever. Anyone know how this happened? ...Or if its just luck?)

Drag out the final battle for about nine minutes and you might hear something interesting...

Has anyone gotten any of the in game event music in the soundtest, cause all I've gotten are the CG event music. Some of the best music in the game are in the in game cutscenes. Do you have to build up more "play throughs" in the Library, to access the music to them?

Nope, I've gotten most of the event music, including the E.G.G.M.A.N. remix, by just playing through the 10 main story lines(Pure Dark-hero and dark ending, Dark Neutral-hero and dark ending, Neutral-hero and dark ending, Hero Neutral-hero and dark ending, and Pure Hero-dark and hero ending).

So how does Sonic Battle tie into all of this?

After ShtH. That works for me, mostly because of Shadow's attitude. In SH and ShtH, Shadow is desperate to learn about his past. In Sonic Battle, this trait is absent. Shadow seems to have a pretty good grasp on who he is, where he came from, how, when and why. His curiosity about his past seems replaced with a sort of disdain for it.

Why do we have souls?!

What the heck are we?!

Shadow doesn't seem to know what he is, and he wants to find out. (Though he does know more than he did in the beginning of ShtH: "Must not repeat... the tragedy...!") Therefore, Battle probably happened before Shadow.

It's really easier to treat Battle as a fangame and not count it in the overall continuity. *shrug*

What makes Shadow more worthy of being "continuity" than Battle? You can't just conveniently erase a game from continuity because it doesn't fit the overall vision. Sonic 1 has 6 emerlads, while the others since then have 7 (not counting GG games here). Going by your logic, all the Sonic games since then should be treated as "fan games".

Battle is an official game. If anything I blame Shadow the Hedgehog for not being consistent with Sonic Battle. Shadow's the real "fan game" here. ^^

Well, Shadow makes lots of SA2 references. While SB's Adventure References are alot looser, and don't really follow continuity too well. "HAY LOOK IT'S CHAOS."

*Shrug* Just some late-night food for thought.

If you discount Battle then Advance 3 is out of the picture, and that'll just lead way to more cuts later down the line when/if G/merl returns.

Personally I'm in love with Sonic Battle's story, ignoring the little things like Amy summoning psychic Sonic, Chaos and The Death Egg, it's pretty darn faithful to the rest of the series and has some great character moments.

I think you can just accept both Shadow and Battle and expect Battle to be afterwards, assuming Central City wasn't destroyed by Black Arms and Shadow totally ignored his "who cares about the past" ending.

There's no concrete reason Battle can't happen before Shadow... It's not perfect but since every other character resets between games (except Knuckles) it's quite plausable that he regains his anger and angst after Battle ended...

It's clearly after Heroes due to the Omega reference, and Shadow has his full memory in Battle. Thusly it MUST happen after Shadow or he'd not know about Gerald.

Somehow I knew I'd be chewed up for that comment. Apparently playing Devil's Advocate is forbidden. ;p

Notice I didn't say that Battle SHOULD be disregarded. I just said it would be easier. I love the game to death.

In battle all he definitively knows that he was made by Professor Gerald and that there was a girl called Maria...

Thats roughly what he knows at the start of Shadow... The only thing that doesnt fit is Battle says: "Shadow, Gerald wanted you to be nice..." wheeras in shadow he's still wondering why Gerald made him...

And by resets I mean character development is lost... Sonic always stays the same, Amy and Tails always go back to how they were at the start, no matter what they learn about going alone and teamwork and believng in oneself, by the start of the next game their still standing behidn Sonic...
Rouge is always looking for jewels, Eggman is alwas trying to take over, Shadow is always angsty...
But Knuckles started out as a loner, was almost as suspicious as Sonic as he was Eggman, but over the adventure games he grew more friendly, and by Heroes he's a full member of the team... When they need him he'll leave his post at a moments notice and help out.

1. What was you impression of Shadow before it was released, and what is your opinion of it now that you played it?

2. What is your favorite path (Pure Dark, Dark, Neutral, Hero, or Pure Hero)? What is your least favorite path?

3. What is your current status in the game?

4. What is your favorit level? What is your least favorite level?

5. Who is your favorit boss? Who is your least favorit boss?

6. What is the best feature of the game for you? What is the least best feature of the game for you?

And my ansers for my questions are...

1. It looked good before I bought it. Now that I have it, it is better then I imagined.

2. My fav path is Pure Dark, vs Black Doom. (For those who don't know, every path has two endings, and two diffrent bosses depending on how you finished the last level of the path). My least favorite is Neutral vs Robotnik.

3. I have 15 of 71 paths complete, only the Westopolis stage has a perfect score for all three sides, I beat the last level and unlocked the true ending, and except for the Pure Hero path, I have compleated all paths in order (for Pure Dark, all the top levels are compleat, and so on and so on).

4. My fav level is Dark Gun Fortress. My least fav is Hero Last Way.

5. My Fav boss is Egg Dealer. Least fav is Sonic and Diablon.

6. The best feature imo of the game is the multiple story lines. The least best feature is the AI.

Your turn.

Because Shadow the Andriod likes this game, and posted a new thread, I decided to copy and answer his questions

Quote:

6. What is the best feature of the game for you? What is the least best feature of the game for you?

1. I thought it was Sega selling out the franchise for a cheap shot at the popular market, sacrificing the universal appeal for a narrow shot at a single market, which was overal a bad idea. After it came out, and I played it, I realised it was much like Sonic Heroes, an awful sequel using the engine from the previous game and swearing blind it doesn't, while adding in a focused gameplay element which adds nothing much to the series and certainly doesn't make it fun.

2. Neutral all the way, baby. No annoying missions to make me wish I could jump out of the window and done within 20 minutes too.

3. Done. Done. Dusted. Thank Geddy Lee I'll never have to touch that sinspawn again!

4. Favourite level was probably Prison Island, it was small enough to not get annoying, had an easy hero task which didn't make you grumble with frustration and enough level structure for you to actually get to know the level, the routes and the locations without it being sheer linear crap like Westopolis and the 2nd stages. Worst stage was definately Cosmic Fall, play with the camera and you die, FIND THE COMPUTER ROOM and annoyingly cheap deaths.

I doubt anyone will answer with anything OTHER than Cosmic Fall... (if that's it's name, I can't remember rightly)

5. Best boss was that one Eggman you can beat in under 30 seconds, because you can beat it in under 30 second. Worst is Black Doom, who just gets BORING AS HECK 5 minutes into the battle as you realise that you can only wittle his health feebly after he spends 45 seconds attacking you.

6. Best feature of the game would be the phantom rings for Light Speed Dash events so that you'll never be able to accidentally collect a few rings and get stuck and also the check-points teleporting were useful when the freaking long levels sent you back to look for another robot/black arm. Worst feature was the helper and human AI, when I'm 45 minutes into finding the last Artificial Chaos and I see a bunch of them firing at nothing and Maria screaming "LOOK UP THERE!", you expect that to be the general area where the final Chaos is... instead it's on the other side of the fricken ARK. Lack of radar is one thing, having crappy misleading AI is just infuriating.

1. What was your impression of Shadow before it was released, and what is your opinion of it now that you have played it?
Before it was released, I was working on my "50 years ago" fanfiction, so I stayed faaaar away from any info that might bias me. After finishing it, I was excited to maybe finally get some conclusive backstory for the little doppleganger. The guns worried me a bit, since I'm horrible at FPS games (evidence: my Second Sight game file... I haven't even found the chick yet). But overall I was excited. Now that I have it... I'm still excited. I like that there's finally a long-range attack, and now I can't play through it without being reminded of The Emo Mage. XD And all of you worried about OMG WEAPONZ in the Sonic series, the blue dude himself said "you'd never catch me dead using one of those things!" So there.

2. What is your favorite path (Pure Dark, Dark, Neutral, Hero, or Pure Hero)? What is your least favorite path?
My favorite path would have to be semi-sweet Hero with Hero ending. (Or Pure Hero-Hero. Pure love, that is. <3) Mostly because my brothers were commenting on how the only guy he kills is Eggman, and at the end of that ending he just kinda emos and walks off to kill Eggman again. XD Lovely. I don't know about a least favorite path (technically I'm still missing one), but the one that felt the most hollow was the "ahahahaha I'm better than Sonic now wheeeee" ending (Pure Hero with Dark ending).

3. What is your current status in the game?
ALMOST DONE GRRRR. I've been to every level at least once, and have nine endings (missing the Pure Dark-Dark ending). Oh, and all A ranks on Lethal Highway. *dance*

4. What is your favorite level? What is your least favorite level?
My favorite level is probably Space Gadget. I have a tradition with that level: whenever gravity gets switched, I have to yell "Aaaaaaaah!" very loudly. My least favorite level is (surprise, Craig) Air Fleet. It's freakin' IMPOSSIBLE to destroy that dang escape pod! Grr! And the fans. THE FAAAAAAAANS.

5. Who is your favorite boss? Who is your least favorite boss?
My favorite is the Black Bull surrounded by a rail. That was fun. Least favorite is probably that egg-thing that shoots balls at you, if only for the repetition. "You know what they say, the more the merrier!"

6. What is the best feature of the game for you? What is the worst feature of the game for you?
The best feature HAS to be the branching paths and storylines. Say what you will, but I enjoy having more choices in a game than "all good" or "all evil." Right from when I heard this game would have multiple endings, I hoped it would be more like Fable or KotOR than Sonic Adventure 2 (in terms of alignment, that is). The worst part is probably the voice actors. Except for Charmy. Man, that guy is hilarious. But some of the others... I had a hard time telling Shadow and Espio apart, and whenever Knuckles was on my team I'd make jokes about one only being able to whisper and the other only being able to yell. "They complete each other." XD And yeah, "FIND THE COMPUTER ROOM!" Oh well.

1. What was you impression of Shadow before it was released, and what is your opinion of it now that you played it?
My first impression was not Shadow has a gun but Shadow had a game. Also I thought that Sega has a sense of humour and they are parodying the state of the games market. Then I found out it was real. After playing it I'm surprised to be honest. I really don't think its that bad of a game. A heck of a lot better than Heroes and some enjoyable missions.

2. What is your favorite path (Pure Dark, Dark, Neutral, Hero, or Pure Hero)? What is your least favorite path?
Pure Hero with Dark Ending. Take That you stupid Blue Hedgehog. MUHAHAHA. Least favourite was Semi Dark I think.

3. What is your current status in the game?
All endings. Done final boss and 30 something A ranks.

4. What is your favorite level? What is your least favorite level?
Favourite level is probably Lost Impact and The Ark Dark Mission. Got great little shooting sections. Least favourite is Digital Circuit Dark Misssion (I think. Defuse 30 bombs) or Central City which is terrible. Cosmic fall is evil, Central City is insane.

5. Who is your favorite boss? Who is your least favorite boss?
Favourite is Egg Dealer. Pure genious. Button mashing and gambling :D. Least Favourite is Sonic and Diablon. ugh....

6. What is the best feature of the game for you? What is the least best feature of the game for you? Best feature of the game is The On rails shooting bits. The worst bit of the game is the Hero and Dark story mission set up.

1. What was you impression of Shadow before it was released, and what is your opinion of it now that you played it?
BEFORE: "This game doesn't fix ANYTHING from Heroes... it's not going to be any good."
AFTER: "This game isn't very good."

Simple as that. I always knew that their attempts to leave the broken broken while breaking what wasn't broken would only end in disaster. They delivered on my expectations.

2. What is your favorite path (Pure Dark, Dark, Neutral, Hero, or Pure Hero)? What is your least favorite path?
Pure Hero, simply because I like being the hero. Neutral wasn't all that satisfying, I guess.

3. What is your current status in the game?
7 Endings. I don't own the game, I only borrowed it, so that's as far as I got.

4. What is your favorit[e] level? What is your least favorite level?
Bleh, none of them were very good. I guess I liked Final Haunt the most (very few bottomless pits, while not as linear as Westopolis) and Cosmic Fall the least (per Craig).

5. Who is your favorit boss?[r] Who is your least favorit[e] boss?
They all sucked. Very little imagination to any of them, and those who did have an interesting gimmick were nigh untouchable for most of the time - and when you COULD touch them, you couldn't do much damage at all.

6. What is the best feature of the game for you? What is the [worst] feature of the game for you?
Best feature: functional weaponry. It doesn't belong in Sonic, but it works as long as it's there.
Worst feature: Featuring everything wrong with Heroes and fixing NOTHING. The good/evil thing sucks (having people bark down your throat, while still having everyone attack you as if nothing changed), the music is unmemorable, the voice acting is outright painful (Eggman aside), the level design is generally terrible (bottomless pits do not a good barrier make, Sonic Team), the guns work but really don't belong in the game, the swords are useless, et cetera, et cetera... it is NOT a good game by any stretch of the imagination.

1. First impression: OMG THIS IS GONNA BE T3H BEST GAME EVAR!!!11!!
After playing: This game rawks. (Bit short though.)

2. Ooh, I dunno. I like all of them, but I think there shoulda been two different Last Stories, one for Hero and one for Dark, with the Hero one being the real one :cuckoo

3. Completed, can't be bothered getting all paths.

4. Fave: The Ark, hands down. I just LOVE those Black Volts. Bzzap! GUN Fortress comes a close second.
Least favourite level is prolly Air Fleet. That escape pod is SO annoying...

5. I like fighting Devil Doom, although I like all the bosses. I DESPISE Egg Breaker because of its sheer annoyingness: "You know what they say: the more, the merrier!"

6. The branching stories is brilliant. My least fave feature would be having to find and kill EVERY one of a certain unit, or having to destroy the President's escape pod. It took me HOURS to complete that...

1. What was you impression of Shadow before it was released, and what is your opinion of it now that you played it?

2. What is your favorite path (Pure Dark, Dark, Neutral, Hero, or Pure Hero)? What is your least favorite path?

3. What is your current status in the game?

4. What is your favourite level? What is your least favourite level?

5. Who is your favourite boss? Who is your least favourite boss?

6. What is the best feature of the game for you? What is the least best feature of the game for you?

1. Probably good, if a bit ripoffish. Could be much better, but not as bad as everyone says.

2. Neutral or Hero. I dunno.

3. Beaten.

4. GUN Fortress. Least favorite? ARK. Damn maze!

5. That one with Sonic and Diablon. Least favorite? Hmm. Egg Breaker.

6. Guns I guess, I don't know. Maybe Chaos Control in-game. Least? The ripoffish hero-or-dark thing. I like branching paths but does it have to be so...overwhored?

When it was revealed I surprised to see he had a gun. Now I think the had a couple of good ideas but they were terribly executed.

2. What is your favorite path (Pure Dark, Dark, Neutral, Hero, or Pure Hero)? What is your least favorite path?
The Pure Dark path( that cinema of the Ark firing was awesome). My least favorite has to be the path of Hero where you go inside a computer and deactivate the tower or gather data with Espio.

3. What is your current status in the game?
Finish it. Haven't play it in a while.

4. What is your favorit level? What is your least favorite level?
My favorite GUN Fortress. My least favorite has to the one in Ark where vector is partner. Not only did I keep falling from the falling plataforms but Vector voice just ..

5. Who is your favorit boss? Who is your least favorit boss?
I got three favorites Black Doom( his theme song is cool) and the GUN bosses in the Ark . My leat favorite has to be the Egg Dealer.

6. What is the best feature of the game for you? What is the least best feature of the game for you?

The new ring health system. Every time you got hit instead of losing all your rings you only lost 10. That was pretty cool addition that hopefully will appear again in the new Sonic game. Also the fact that Shadow could run along the wall, you could go back to previous areas and that you had differents missions in one stage was cool too. My least favorite is the partner. They hardly help you in battle, they keep saying things that you already knew and of course certain 4KIDS VAs( "find the computer room") .

Yeah, I think this new game just degrades Sonic Team, in a way. I mean, the Sonic games are supposed to be "innocent", so to speak. Now you introduce a non-robotic character with a gun, motorcycle chases (and whatever else I read), well, that all just puts Sonic to shame. Personally, I think it's absolutely terrible. :nono

Welcome, LZ, to the MoFo. Please report to MF Central to make an intro topic, and please be aware that we are moving to the Eliteboard sometime around Valentine's Day. That is all!

Now for the topic at hand, you talked about stuff you read; that makes it sound like you have not played it(or seen any body play it) so you should really play it or watch someone play it before you jump to conclusions. Reading what people say about a game cannot give you an accurate feel for it until you experienced it for yourself.

Yes, at least rent this game before being a critic. And welcome to the MoFo, LazerBread! ^^

For a split second there I thought there was a new Shadow game. Pretty scary. I am so changing the thread title now.

Even games like 50 Cent:Bulletproof or that upcoming The Godfather video game?

$8 is a lot of money to be trying out games that are written on the wall to be sub-standard.

Rental hasn't really been the best option ever since prices and rental periods were jacked up a few years ago. Who wants to be stuck all week with a bad game at nearly 10 bucks a pop, anyway? The good ol' days of 3 nights for 2.99 are long over.

I have not rented a game in 5 years actually. I can't even remember how much the prices used to be. I basically stick with a few trust-worthy genres(game series) and buy the sequels.

1. What was you impression of Shadow before it was released, and what is your opinion of it now that you played it?

To be honest, my impression wasn't too high to begin with. sure, I loved the fact that Shadow got his own game (I've always been a big story fan when it comes to game so I thought we'd get a rather nice, indepth one with this) But then my hopes just about sank when I heard the words "guns" and "cars".
After playing it, I have to say it was pretty bad, but not as bad as I think people make it out to be or even as bad as I thought it might have been. But it was still sucky.

2. What is your favorite path (Pure Dark, Dark, Neutral, Hero, or Pure Hero)? What is your least favorite path?

I'm not sure. I'd say Pure Dark though cause for me, it's more of a challege. (And the endings are funnier.)

3. What is your current status in the game?
One ending away from getting to the actual final stage.

4. What is your favorit level? What is your least favorite level?
Definately the ARK stage with Maria. Dunno why but I just love it.

5. Who is your favorit boss? Who is your least favorit boss?
They're all kinda easy to me and I don't really have a favorite. So it's neutral really.

6. What is the best feature of the game for you? What is the least best feature of the game for you?
I really like his Chaos Special moves. (Me likely Chaos Blasty.) I down right hate the cars though. I just find the whole idea stupid as a whole.

Doesn't that attitude contributes to the stagmentation of the industry?

Hehehehe... XPlay gave it a 1/5. I'm not all that surprised.

That's still being too generous in my opinion. It deserves nothing more than a -1/5.
