I love the new looks, they haven't changed drastically and just seem a whole lot more stylish and modern day "cool"

I agree with Craig. Sonic and everyone else don't need a new look, they're fine as they are.

what i meant was that do they look better like they did in the megadrive/genisis game. cos personally i think it's annoying when he poses with a cheesy smile that looks like he's advertising for colgate. they should have stuck to the old designs when they had black eyes. and does anyone think they should keep the name eggman or use robotnik again

i like the old look .
sonic looked cooler and less umm...(if i say other sonic fans might get angry )

i prefer sonic having less to say than more than needed to .
and what's wrong with black eyes it suit him fine.
(i'm saying that because that way i can be sonic )

i think the only reason they started putting grinding into sonic game is because they wanted to attract more fans. so skaters will go "whooooah grinding! sonic is now the best thing ever" but just because they add grinding in doesn't mean it is "cool" or "the new trend"

no i think it's because someone in sonic team always wanted to try it but wasn't good at it, so he added it to sonic so he'd go "whoooooooah grinding! " .

and forgot about the players , but it's kinda fun .
so it worked

But the modern day looks show off more personality than ye olders.

Look at Knuckles. In his Sonic 3 "I'll get you Sonic, and your little fox-boy too!" pose it gives nothing away, then look at the Sonic Adventure Knux Art, he's got that cold hearted "Don't mess with me or you'll be burned" look.

The new looks beat the old ones in my eyes 100%

no way i liked his punk personality in sonic 3 , he was cool .
knuckles in sonic&knuckles was like" i don't like you sonic ,but i hate eggman more " .

he was fun that way .
but i guess you prefer the good guy look .
although it makes him look older than sonic .

i have to aggree with sonicknight but did anyone notice in sonic 3 he was sort of pink but in sonic and knuckles he is more red

First off, I wasn't talking about his attitude, I was talking about the art itself and the Official Sonic 3 pictures don't give much to go on in that respect.

As for pink, yes YES he DID look pink. Never understood why though. Glad he's red now

i personally think robotnik was way better than eggman

Eggman is the only name they can call him now, because of the voice acting the lip-sync will always say "Eggman" (2 syllables) instead of Robotnik (3 syllables)

The Japanese ALWAYS called him Eggman, since day one, and since they make the games and program the cut-scenes and such the mouths will say Eggman, it's kind of stupid to have the voices dubbed to say Robotnik over the top of that, and that's without mentioning the fact that the names of the characters are written down everywhere and such...

ah but if you play SA on dreamcast they call him robotnik once or twice and the lip sync on that is terrible

His name is officially Dr. "Eggman" Robotnik. What's wrong with that? Then everybody is happy?

Look at it like this. In Gotham City, Jervis Tetch is the "Mad Hatter". Most people call him the Mad Hatter, but he wasn't born that way. Eggman is his alias.

The same thing happened with the Mario Universe. Princess Toadstool became Princess Peach Toadstool.
