Do you think there will be a sonic advance 4? In other words do you think that sega are just going to forget about the GBA and make games for DS only?
No Sa4; only Rush, really.
I think Nintendo is slowly ditching the GBA for the DS, along with most companies. The only GBA game I can think of that I'm actually looking forward to is Gunstar Super Heroes.
When there is a new handheld on the market, the company that make the console is going to cash in on it being faster and better with sharper graphics, sound and gameplay. Doesn't really make sense to carry on making games for a handheld that isn't as up to date as the new handheld.
Can anyone see an eventual port of Rush for the PSP? I thought Sonic was pretty much strictly multi-platform now...

However, Nintendo actually said that they were going to continue to support the GBA. I'm just annoyed, because I have yet to see a reason to own the DS over the GBA. Sonic Advance 4? I dunno, four may be too many. But Sonic Rush isn't anything special aside from the boss battles and apparently some sort of touch screen aspect that has not been verified yet.
As for a port of Sonic Rush to the PSP.... it seems doubtful, since the game uses two screens, but on the other hand I don't see it being impossible to pull off.
There have been rumours os a Sonic PSP title, I can't remember whether it was confirmed or not. I doubt it would be Rush though, the PSP has much better graphics than the DS so I wouldn't be surprized if a PSP title would be 3D.
Apparently Sonic Rush also introduces a new character called Blaze the Cat, who is from another dimension and comes with the goal of collecting Sol Emeralds.
This has nothing to do with anything in the topic.
And you're surprised by this?
XD! Harley you kill me.
I could see a Sonic Rush port to the PSP especially if it sells well because I'm not all that sure Sega will use the touch screen much for anything and if they did use it, it's features wouldn't be missed...
Or maybe if they are smart, a compliation of all the Sonic Advance games for the cheap part of the gaming fans (You know like 80 percent of us out there)
So, i guess this means we are all going to have to buy DS's!
Have to? Since when has it been a mandatory thing to have played the latest Sonic game? I've STILL not beaten Heroes myself, given that I don't own it...
Some fan you are. *shot*
I'm ashamed to say I completed Sonic Heroes. I needed heavy counselling afterwards.
I'm still waiting for a pricecut and a few more noteworthy games are released before even considering getting a DS. Not that there aren't a few games released which don't interest me, they just don't warrant a buy at the moment.
With that said, I'm perfectly fine with my SP, awaiting the release of Gunstar Super Heroes.
*Laughs* Heavy counselling?! HA! I gave my Gamecube and all games away and never looked back.
Then for some massochistic reason I bought again on the PS2 and remembered why I hated it.
Rush still looks good though...

Nintendo doesnt give up on it's systems, i'm still buying GB color and N64 games.
sega is the one that gives up too fast and starts all over with a new console and game title.
sega will probably start with the DS. besides, sonic advance is for the game boy advance
Uh, sonicknight, neither the Nintendo 64 or the Gameboy Colour are having games made for them anymore, an d haven't had any for a few years now, the Dreamcast on the other hand was still having games released last year in Japan, mainly RPGs I think, even though Sega doesn't produce them anymore.
i don't buy new games, i buy the old ones i couldn't before. the point is they made a lot of stock, sega didn't.
anywhere you go you can find nintendo games that's the cool thing about them.
That's finding back stock or second hand games, my point was that Nintendo don't support these consoles anymore, where as you said differently.
How long till nintendo give up on GBA then?
Simple, easy to digest version of affairs for Sonicknight.
Gameboy Colour, N64 and very soon Gameboy Advance are what we call "obsolete", this means that companies no longer make new games for it, once a console it obsolete, they move on to the next gaming console, never looking back. It is rare/unheard of for a next gen sequel to be followed up by a game on the obsolete console.
Thusly, Sonic Rush is the way forward. Door is closed on Advance. Bye bye Advance.
Nintendo: But the DS isn't the succesor to the GBA!
Tell that to the gaming companies who will be looking to maxamise profits by utilising the new technology and 3d graphics available on the DS.
Nintendo again: But the DS isn't the succesor to the GBA! How many times must we tell you this?
What about the fact that a new Mega Drive/Genesis RPG is up for release??
I'd have severe doubts of that. Do you have any proof?
It's actually pretty possible; I've heard of third party companies up and making new titles for the people fortunate enough to still own older consoles. Not BIG third parties like Capcom or Konami or anything, but third parties nonetheless.
It seems to be very popular with the Atari crowd.
Gyser's right, actually. The game is called Beggar Prince, hasn't been released just yet, but is currently in the works. You can read more details about this on the official website.
Wow, that's actually quite impressive. It seems more like an officially released fan game of sorts, I can't really see there being much of a market for it. But the first Mega Drive game in seven years, it's kind of mind-boggling.
I want to get it just because I don't have an RPG for my Genesis. It looks pretty decent anyway.

I wouldn't call it a "fangame" of sorts. This was a released title, only now getting a US release after all these years. Also along with a few hired Genesis programming veterans (!!) to help out by fixing any bugs or glitches contained in the original release, as it was rushed in development.
Oh, and there's definitely an audience for this game, at least among Genesis fans. ^_^
