So Sonic Adventure is popping up on XBLA September 15th. Pricing will be at 800 points (10 bucks). No PSN date announced yet, but Sega plans to give the date soon. Also looks like a port of SA: DX for Gamecube, and not an updated Dreamcast version. Chao Gardens included, though.

Awesomesauce! Another SA purchase for me. 😛 Hopefully PSN won't be too far after the 15th. Within the month atleast, I hope.

For your 800 MS Points, you get all 6 characters + final story, and chao garden. For extra MS Points, you get Metal Sonic + the DX version missions.

Really Sega? DLC for this when it's stuff that was already free in a previous version? I'm hating you right now because I know I'll shell out for it. >.>

xD! Do you have SADX? If so just play that, instead silly. But all of characters and stuff[even Final Story] are unlocked automatically? Kinda lame. =/

I do have SADX, but playing it doesn't add points to my meaningless achievement total. =D

And no, not everything is unlocked straight away. I worded that weirdly. You still have to play it as normal to unlock everything.

After playing it for a while (finished Sonics story and half way through Tails'), I've fallen through the ground as Sonic at least 8-9 times, and the camera has screwed up on me (thus causing a death) more times than I can count. Don't remember either version being this buggy, although that may just because I haven't played either of them in so long.

So just tried it. Runs pretty smooth. DX Models (I:e Shiny and separate fingers.) But other than that its pretty much the game you played in 1999 and 2003.

The same unfinished yet still the best 3D Sonic game. SIGH.

IGN's Review of Sonic Adventure on XBLA.

Pretty harsh score, to be honest. Although I find it a little unfair, as the reviewer tries to compare it to modern gaming. Of course it feels a tad bit broken compared to modern titles...

True that dude! I'm getting this on PSN and my trophy count is going to be ridic. LOL But what is it with SEGA and buggy crap? Like every iteration of SA has just been buggier and buggier. Maybe it's a sign...Sonic should've stayed in 2D. 😛

Also...JT...you sir are incorrect. SA2>>>>>>>SA. Let the wars begin!

Meh, in some ways SA2 was better in other ways SA1 was better.

No, no JT. Don't be reasonable and understanding. This is a flame war, damnit!

Yea you're right, though. xP

I would have said the same thing too...

But I tried playing my SA:DX copy about two months ago and it really
don't hold up that well. The controls and physics can kill you if you're
not careful, and it doesn't really make for a worthwhile experience
playing cautiously on every narrow corridor because one wrong move will
send you to the death abyss. I always thought that if Sonic Adventure
2's physics were ported over to Sonic Adventure 1, it would make for the
best 3D Sonic experience ever.

fixed for accuracy.

I've been playing it for a few days now, and I haven't ran into any of the glitches that people have complained about. Maybe I got lucky? Either way, aside from the controls not being very tight (then again, they never were), I'm enjoying having it on my 360.

Has anyone unlocked the avatar awards yet? I got both of them, and it was well worth the price of admission...

Bahaha Nice JT. Even nicer answer Psx, and ChaoRcute...*high fives* Biolizard ftw. Anywho...when is this coming to PSN dang it! As for the game's problems...yea...they are aplenty. They were there now...and they're probably exaggerated now. 😛

I just got around to playing the demo... it sucks. From what I understand this is the Gamecube version? Because the visual are really weird. The water changed from a beautiful see through blue to a generic blue. When I push on the left stick to move, Sonic just zooms way off and is really hard to control. The DC version has much better control. There were a few spots where the camera zoomed way too close up to Sonic. I also flew off to my death on a loop de loop just like Sonic 2K6.
I've recently played Sonic Adventure on the DC about two weeks ago and had a lot of fun playing it. This is not what I played on the Dreamcast. This is a mutated piece of awful work.

I only noticed one avatar award so far (the sneakers). I've only beaten the game. I'm starting to raise some chao for racing though.

Yes, Abac, it's the Gamecube version, not the Dreamcast one.

You can also unlock a blue Sonic Adventure shirt for your avatar. The awards are unlocked for playing the game 5 (shirt) and 10 (sneakers) hours.

I played the demo and I didn't have any problems with it, but I still wouldn't shell out 800P for a game that I already own, that's apparently buggier.
