sauce.

So wishists?

Knowing Sega they will just ignore 1, CD, 2, 3 and K and just focus on the good Sonic games like Adventure, Rivals, Heroes, Unleashed and of course Sonic the Hedgehog 2006.

Seriously though I wanna see a seriously evolved version of the Sonic 2006 engine. I mean so the game actually plays good. With momentum and segments that dont take the control out of you. With hookers. And Blackjack. And Rouge with her bouncing ears.

In terms of Sonic's best bits in terms of moments not necessarly my favourite levels:
Sunset Park Act 3
Stardust Speedway Act 3. Maybe have it start off Bad Future and as you start winning the race it turns good and if you start loosing again it turns to bad future again.
Doomsday. I mean you teased us Sega in Unleashed of a 3D Doomsday.
Final Hazard. Probably a bit more epic than Perfect Chaos considering there is a time limit on it and you have to listen to Eggman and Tails tell you about it.
Lava Reef Sonic Finale. Come on climbing gingerly down an active volcano?
Windy Valley middle section - Climbing out of a tornado.
City Escape Start
Kingdom Valley. This stage was so beautiful and it was ruined by a @$#%%* game. Make it good Mr. Sega.

In terms of levels that could be awesome in 3D - Labyrinth, Star Light, Palmtree Panic, Metallic Madness, Casino Night, Mystic Cave, Oil Ocean, Marble Garden, Ice Cap, Flying Battery, Lava Reef/Hidden Palace.

I don't even know where to start in picking old school zones to be remade (although I hope they pick up some of the more obscure games, not just the main five - some Chaotix levels would look amazing in 3D, for instance). I really hope there isn't another Olympics game. Two was enough, there's not a lot (or really any) real differences that could come from a new one. Plus, you know, it's been 20 years. Give us the Mario/Sonic crossover we've always wanted already.

Holding out for a new Collection game, too.

Chances are that the levels won't be updated I any way shape or form other than the typical high def treatment. I'd love for some of the more classical levels to be upgraded ala Sonic 4 or 2.5D in the scale of Sonic Colours but considering this is Sega, all it'll be is a poor mishmash of levels from all the old games, and that doesn't sound terribly interesting.

Hope I'm wrong though, but still, not terribly optimistic.

Interesting. Give us Angel Island/Mushroom Hill, Marble Garden and Ice Cap. I want them to confirm once and for all the connection between those levels and SA's levels. Oh and throw Lava Reef in there too. 😛 But yea...another collection would be nice.

In order of appearance on the games (my selection is limited to S1, 2, 3, S&K and S3D, since I never played CD/Chaotix/etc and none of the more modern levels really make the grade):~

Marble Zone - be cool to explore the ruins a little more, and in better graphics.

Starlight Zone - I just wanna see the background.

Casino Night Zone - same reason as Starlight above.

Mystic Cave Zone - charging through those old mine workings in 3D would be spectacular, and creepy!

Metropolis Zone - if done right, this could be epic

Carnival Night Zone - same reason as Starlight and Casino above, plus the atmosphere of this zone is cool. Whee, balloons!

Ice Cap Zone - this could also be epic.
Azure Lake Zone and Endless Mine Zone - if these two could be expanded into propper zones (not just short multiplayer levels) I think they'd be cool.

Sandopolis Zone Act 1 - this is one of the most atmospheric levels on any Sonic game, and an upgrade could make it utterly breathtaking! This same reason also applies to the following four levels:

Lava Reef Zone Act 1

Hidden Palace Zone

Sky Sanctuary Zone

Death Egg Zone

Rusty Ruin Zone and Diamond Dust Zone - also for atmosphere...although not quite as much as the ones above, these were very cool in themselves.

That they're connected by either being the same levels, or that they have some general connection to one another as levels.

Duh!

Well, it's an interesting idea at least. I'm hoping it's going to be as wonderful as we're imagining it to be, but caution reminds that the Sonic Cycle exists and this is just pre-empting the first stage.

Still...

Interesting.

Again, I have to ask why people are expecting to have the old 2D levels remade in 3D. Considering this is Sega the better chances involve the game just having a load of the old levels from all sonic games. I mean this is the same company who thought that the best way to HD-ify their old Mega Drive/Genesis titles for their 360/PS3 release was to... smudge the graphics a bit.

Don't expect anything amazing from this.
