Sweet skin. It too bad it isn't released the same day as the game.
It's funny that they have Sonic the Hedgehog listed there.
Along with....
Sonic Golf
Sonic Billiards
Sonic Tennis
And more of the same...
Guess they need to catch up to Mario, eh?
Thank You for Scaring me for the rest my life, you do a good job at it.

Only if they release it to consoles.

After the console Shadow, and the flash game on the official website, who's going to want to play that?
I would; it would be nice to see a DS/GBA Shadow game like that as long as it's a different storyline from the console version.(And yes, I am being serious)
Most of the interview seems to be Iizuka stressing that Sonic Riders had has nothing from Sonic R except that the characters race each other. Also Hornet from Daytona. That would have been cool.
Aw...I was secretly wishing for Radiant Emerald to make a comeback as the final track...with all its colorful flashy space rainbow road effects and such.
Well Radient Emerald might make a comeback. Or some other Rainbow Road rip off.
Radient Emerald?
This must mean that...
EVERYBODY SUPER SONIC RACING!!!!11!

I would... I LIKE Shadow. =/ Anyway, I can't wait til february!! This game is looking so awesome; I just hope they keep the anime intro.

A new trailer from Gametrailers
www.gametrailers.com/gamepage.php?id=2137
Seems like all the AI players were the green Robot. Don't ask how though.
TEH SONIC RIDERS JAPANESE SITE
We get to see what the characters look like. Shadow is on... a board. Also Rouge has nice trousers. Also There is something that makes Battle canon. Well maybe not. But its cool. Also Cream picture 2. Dubya Tea Eff?
I like the Japanese cover more than the American one. Why did they chose to use CGI instead of hand drawn illustrations in the US version?
EDIT: Okay after seeing the full body pic of Rouge, I take back saying it was plain. She has some very lovely pants that makes the whole outfit and improvement over her usual clothing. ^_^
Beautiful cover over in the Land of the Rising Sun. I loved the colors especially.

Dont know. Both of the boxes look quite busy really.
Mind you we are in a wierd position where both the Art and the CGI are very good IMHO.
By looking at the pics of each character, in the Japanese website, I am going to try my best at what attacks they do.
Sonic-
Level 1: Shouts something real loud to give opponent a heart attack
Level 2: His famous Spin Dash Attack
Level 3: It seems to be a more powerful Spin Dash Attack
Jet-
Level 1: His head grows and then he spits
Level 2: Uses a weapon I'm assuming is made out of his feathers
Level 3: Same as level 2 but it's stronger and something happens to the opponent because Knuckles look like a corkscrew. :
Amy-
Level 1: Her head grows big to scare the opponent I assume she shouts (Probably her time of the month )
Level 2: She swings her trusty Piko Piko Hammer
Level 3: She swings the hammer overhead and smashes the opponent
Shadow-
Level 1: A punch with bubbles
Level 2: A roundhouse kick. (That's more Shadowy)
Level 3: His hand is encased in a bubble and the opponent is also encased in larger bubble
Tails-
Level 1: He uses an electric plug to shock rivals (Even though it's not plugged into anything. )
Level 2: Twirls the plug around
Level 3: I can't tell very well, but I think it shocks foes from both sides
Wave-
Level 1: Her head grows big and I assume she shouts (Is it her time of month too? )
Level 2: She swings some kind of tool. I assume it's a wench because the handle and I can't see the tool's head
Level 3: She carries what looks like dynamite packs with countdown timer on them. Can we say female version of Bean?
Rouge-
Level 1: She blows a kiss. I'm not surprised.:ohbother
Level 2: A roundhouse kick.
Level 3: She throws a bomb that looks like her.
Cream-
Level 1: Her head grows and she starts to cry. (However, it's more disturbing.)
Level 2: Her faithful Chao, Cheese, attacks
Level 3: Cheese is much bigger (steriods, myabe? )
Knuckles-
Level 1: His grows and he growls or roars.
Level 2: A strong punch
Level 3: Like Jet's level 3 attack, something must happen to the rival because now Sonic looks like a corkscrew.
Storm-
Level 1: He clap his hands together
Level 2: I think he smack the foe with only one hand
Level 3: He slams his hand on the ground and smashed the opponent. (What's with the gorilla-like attacks? I can understand if he was Donkey Kong)
Eggman-
Level 1: He uses a fan. The heck!
Level 2: He uses a boxing glove contrapation
Level 3: He cuts the cheese.
MUST... HAVE... TRAILER!!!!!
Thank God Shadow's on a board. I kept thinking about him skating around and how funny that would look beside the boarders. Not that it wouldn't work, but that would mean he would be able to perform all the tricks in this game in normal gameplay of others and that his shoes could randomly stop working becuase they were out of air. Sure, they could just give him a different pair, but why would he put on another pair if his normal ones are better?
Edit: The Game Trailers vid keeps cutting off in the middle of the download... is there another place I can get it?
New Trailer:

Seems like the intro cutscene when you start playing.

I certainly do NOT want to be on Amy's end. x_x
"ALLLLL-RIGHT-NOW-WE-'RE-TALKIN!"
Help us Ryan Drummond, you're our only hope.
IGN has new pics as well MP3s of the intro song and Sonic and Jet endings songs
Well it's about bloody time I got some Sonic Riders music to listen to.
*Waits like, 2 seconds to download all of them... and done.*
Hmm, there's something about the theme music for SR which is kinda 'catchy'. The one labelled as 'Jet Ending', despite going for over 6 minutes, is rather funky, and I bet will make a good song to listen to while playing Burnout: Revenge, and racing for three laps.
The one labelled as 'Sonic Ending' just don't cut it too well with me. Something about this one which doesn't appeal to me. I give it a 'meh' out of a possible 'YEAAHH!!!'
I wonder if all the characters will have their own themes, because the ones I just listened to I wouldn't call themes. Makes me wonder if they're going to do single songs, or 'team-based' songs ala Sonic Heroes.
Hmm, Cream might get her very first character theme song. o.o But, unlikely.
Sonic Heroes and Shadow had a lack of rap. Riders doesn't.
🙁 @ Rap. Darn you Jet. Darn you and Jason Griffith holding his nose while speaking like Sonic.
Sonic ending is dull. It would be good credit roll music but thats it.
Maybe all characters will have a theme but some of theme will be remixes of their old themes. And some wont have lyrics.
I want my Crush 40 damnit.
And I still want my Big the Cat damnit.
~Neo
And I want a gold plated toilet seat damnit. And when you lift it up the Star light Zone music plays.
Oh, that would be great! But I would perfer one that plays Spring Yard Zone song.
On just as brighter but a bit more serious note. This game is coming to the states in only 13 days.
JUST GOT THE DEMO! FIRST IMPRESSIONS!
It's pretty good so far. The demo gives you 8 characters to try out and one track. It plays kind of like a cross between F-Zero and SSX. The characters have one paticular power over another. Speed, Flight and Power. I.E. Sonic or Tails can get to areas the others can't and Knuckles can smash through some objects that would slow down others. The characters you get to choose from are Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, Amy, Jet, Wave, Storm, and Eggman.
The futuristic city level is pretty cool. Riding on others turbulance does help alot. The controls are simple to a fault. Only three buttons are used. X for Jump, square or circle to boost, and R1 to turn slide. Attacking is automatic which I'd rather have on a button press.
So far, it's looking pretty good, and I will buy the full version when it comes out.
I've been hearing mention of it reminding people of Kirby's Air Ride and Snowboard Kids. Which is a good thing in my book.
I haven't been fortunate to play Snowboard Kids, but from what I've played of Kirby's Air Ride--I didn't like it. Too simplistic to the point that it was boring and the multiplayer was worse.
If Sonic Riders end up becoming as 'enjoyable' as KAR then..meh.
And where exactly may one... 'obtain' this demo?
I've heard it's around at GameStops around the country. Unfortunately, I can't surmise if the one I used to work for has it.
Grr... and I was just at Gamestop today looking for a copy of Maverick Hunter X (btw... no go, but I did find one at EB).
EDIT: Oh okay, just found out the demo will be included in the newest issue of OPM (Official Playstation Magazine) which should be (if not already) available any day now.
"And where exactly may one... 'obtain' this demo?"
The latest official Playstation Mag. I go to 7-eleven to get them, cuz they usually get thier mags a week ahead of everyone else.
MORE IMPRESSIONS:
Although I still can't quite get the fly technique. I can get on the Rails as Sonic/Jet now. Using power characters is the easiest way to get 1st place. They just plow through cars and opponents rather than relying on shortcuts. They do lose air quite quickly though. Speed is second easiest (for me anyway) and slying is still tough for me to get the hang of.
This is not a simple game like Kirbys Air Ride. There is still some strategy and technique to use. Especially when riding others air tubes. You can do tricks on them to get air. Timing jumps is a little tough too. There is a second platform on one jump that I just can't seem to make.
Check out the new CGI intro on Game Trailers. Jet makes a slight reference to Satam (or it's a coincidence).
"and here I thought you were the fastest thing alive!"
Odd, the impression was that Fly characters were going to be the one which would give players the unfair advantage. I suppose it must be a case of needing to master it and then the easiest become the least effective.
Check out the new CGI intro on Game Trailers. Jet makes a slight reference to Satam (or it's a coincidence).
"and here I thought you were the fastest thing alive!"
It mostly likely depends. If Jet says something simliar in the Japanese version then it probably isn't.
Questions!:
Automatic attacking, how does it work? You just catch up to whoever you want to attack or what?
Do you use the jump button for stunts?
What Jet really says:
: "So, you are supposed to be the fastest thing alive?"
It's still a reference to the old Sonic cartoon.
EDIT:
My hunch is that power's easier in the first levels but flight is the way to go in the latter levels.
Not really, it's more a reference to Sonic's speed in general. Seriously, SatAM wasn't the only thing to claim Sonic to be the fastest thing alive, you know!
True. Some old fans will still recognize that phrase. :p
By the look of things it's most definetly a refrence to SATAM Ah the memories!!
Because that quote isn't the easiest bastardisation of The Flash's tagline, or anything. I mean it could just be a complete coincidence that they switched "Man" for "Thing" twice.
Anywho, the news that accelleration and attacks are automatic leave me sad and hating this. I don't want to waggle left and right then press jump at the right time. KIDS! That's NO GOOD.
A few things.
Dreamer of Nights, there are already Bablyon Rogues posticons?
And Darkcinosking, welcom to the Mobian Forum.
The posticons are only available at the eliteboard, SV2. You can thank the guys through donations and the simple thanks.
But the donations would help. :p
At any rate, I'm not going to make a judgement on Craig's statement since I don't have a PS2 nor a copy of the game. :p
And welcome to the forums!

Again, you're stating something like a fact that is very much just assumption. You know what happens when people assume.
They make a [blank] out of you and me?
Er... sorry about that. 'Thumps himself 5 times'

And thanks SonicV2 and Dreamer of Nights [Sorry if I got the spellings wrong]
END OFF TOPIC
It's a shame that there's no Gamestop in England
I reserved myself a copy of Sonic Riders at GameSpot.
FINAL IMPRESSIONS
Okay, I've gotten used to everything now.
To fly, simply let you rider glide off the "fly" ramp. I kept jumping off of it and got nothing. You'l know you're in flight due to a green trail behind you. Press down to fly up, and vice versa.
For speed you get two rails. Press jump and then jump again to get onto the rails. On this level, the don't offer you much of an advantage.
Power is the the easiest way to get through this level. HOWEVER, this probably changes depending on what level you're on. Some tracks may have different advantages depending on what characters you have.
Attacking is NOT quite automatic as I had first stated. You hit turbo first, and while your in turbo for a few seconds, you'll attack any rider you pass by.
Pet Peeves:
1.) Riding turbulance happens a little TOO often. Sometimes, if I want to use the fly ramp or girnd the rails, I can't becuase thier is a turbulance tube if front of it, so I end up having to ride that. Although it's faster to do so anyway.
2.)Why does Eggman get the strength power? Just like Knuckles and storm, he can punch cars out of the way! He's not near that strong!
3.)It's minor, but I hate the way the demo kicks me out after I have finished the level.
4.)There is no voice announcer in the demo.
5.)The techo music is pretty bland. That JSRF/Sonic Rush music would fit in perfect here.
A big bag of thanks goes to you for giving your impressions, shig. I'm quite relieved to hear that attacking isn't completely automatic. I take it hitting obstacles is still completely automatic?
I can't wait to play as Eggman and punch cars out of my way with him! ...I'd be anticipating alot more if it would happen on a button press. Oh well.
Yea, punching thru cars is automatic, but it doesn't take away from the gameplay. It's part of thier power.
