Not quite. Thier boards have slightly different stats.
I just don't see Eggman as a strong man. He uses a scooter instead of a board (because of his big, fat #$%), so why not give him a machine that uses jets to give him flight instead. It would make more sense to me.
I hope there is one more rider in the initial startup, or it's kind of uneven since you have three for speed (Sonic, Jet & Amy), three for power (Knuckles, Storm, and Eggman), and only two for flight (Tails & Wave). It could be though that Amy and Eggman are locked characters that they just put in for the demo.

Yeah. He flies around in the Eggmobile all the time, so whilst he has no ability to fly without the aid of machinery, it'd be understandable. It'd be good if as a power character he had some kind of punching mechanism (like the Egg Walker in SA2) to attack opponents instead of whapping them away with his hand (which I'm assuming is the case, he just punches like Knuckles and Storm).

Actually he was quite a runner in Sonic and Knuckles. Sonic chased him to the robot he used in Sonic 2. In Sonic Adventure 2, he also run fast. Go in the Chao Garden Lobby as Eggman and see for yourself.
My brother and I have a running joke about this. In Sonic 2's Wing Fortress, using debug you could 'place' a laser (the type that shoots down the Tornado at the start of the stage) which shot off as soon as you placed it, travelling very fast. When you moved along at top speed in debug, and fired one off, you could keep up with the laser, matching its speed exactly. That laser [and you, moving in debug] were the fastest thing in the game. Then you get to Robotnik in Death Egg, and rush him at max debug speed and you still can't catch up to him. Super Sonic pales in comparison to programmed-to-always-stay-in-front Eggman, the true fastest thing alive.
Well I finally play the demo at EB. The game play took me some time to get use to it,expecially with a broken game controller( 
:"> lazy EB not changing the controller that been broken for almost a year). The graphics look great and the camera at long last didn't have a mind of it own like other 3D Sonic games. As for game play, since the controller was almost broken, I couldn't play it completly but from what I could it was awesome. Look like this game goona be great except for the voices.
The game comes out soon I wonder how good it well sell.
Considering it's a Sonic game, it'll sell decently. But, considering it follows Shadow The Hedgehog, then I really don't know.

Japanese site's been updated, with E-10000R (speed) and E-10000G (power) - no 'Robo 1&2' shiz here.
These robots are definitely mass produced E-Series (like E-1000, E-2000 and Phi) - explains why we've seen two E-10000G together in one screenshot. They're kinda Egg Pawn/E-Series hybrids - they're all one numbered model (mass prod. E-series trait) but with a letter at the end of their names to signify the variant which is specified by color (Pawn trait - Egg Pawns [and Flappers] had variants signified by color in Heroes and Shadow). Stage hazards appear to include an 'E-10000B' (blue, looks like these controllable guys) and 'E-10000Y' (yellow, hovers).
Also, I don't know if you guys have ever checked out the course page (which is pretty in-depth, with hot-point laden maps and little slideshows at the top - seems to be story scenes that show before the race begins on each course), but in addition to Metal City, Splash Canyon, Egg Factory, Green Cave and Sand Ruin (the last two there have just been added to the courses section), there's two stages we've not previously had knowledge of. The first is Babylon Garden (a hanging garden, hmm?..) and the second is a Metal City variant called Night Chase.
Oh, I get it. These robots are cannon foder for the 1P mode. Like the Phis in Battle.
Well, atleast they serve a purpose.

While I'm here for dishing out confirmation, I may as well state my opinion, as it's been modified by the GP vids: The graphics are acceptable. At least I don't have that to worry about anymore. I'm hesitant to buy though. I loved Sonic R, but...the game just doesn't seem to have much replayability. I suppose I'll find out once it's been out in the US for a few days, what with the supposed customizability and whatnot.

I'm guessing "Night Chase" is the first track if you choose to play through the Babylon Rogues storyline. Sort of an evil version of Metal City.
Wow, sounds like we're going to see a SA2-type storyline. (There's a cinematic on the Japanese site with the Rogue stealing a Chaos Emerald, I'm guessing that's there opening cinemetic. Er it was screenshots of the cinematic.)

I get the feeling the US website mess up. As for the names change that nothing new(Eggman/Robotnik, Nack/Fang).
Oops, looks like I kinda missed the point. Still, I really don't think it's an actual name change because they're called g&r in the GP vids.
Looking at the the videos at Game Informer that shows in game cinemas. The facial expresion look better than Shadow.
Yeah, sounds like the website designer wasn't given all the information he needed. Robo 1 and Robo 2 are probably polite codes for [Insert Name Later].

The speed-type lamebot has the same model of engine parts as Metal Sonic; he wasn't necessarily built by tearing apart MS.
It's the same kind of hype whenever they say "Shadow is as fast as Sonic". Wowzers! This dumb robot was built with the same type of machinery used for Metal Sonic - he must therefore be just as cool as Metal!

Gamer.tv showed a Small review this morning on Bravo(uk) they gave sonic riders 4 out of 5. In their own words the controls are Tight but you can pick them up fairly easy, they wished that the games story mode was a lot longer though.
Certain stages are played during diffrent times of day in reverse (u go the other way around the course) and they showed a night time version of metal city. Character assortment is vast as is the ability to customise your rider`s board out of a possible 200 combinations, which is nothing to be sniffed at.
They didnt show all the characters, but they did show a new one i havnt seen on the official sites yet.Spoilers (Select To Read): Kinda hard to discribe, im guessing hes some sort of puple rat by looking at him (color co ordination again) but he has a massive L-shaped tail and a pointy bucktooth (beaver?) and a western style hat and attire, kinda like a cowboy. He was also driving a bike of some kind which ive seen only eggman do.
They complained about one of the stages being Green cave saying that sometimes its hard to tell which way your character is going resulting in many fall-outs and loses of the game. The voice acting can be switched to japanese for the PAL version and the commentator either switched from female to male or off altogether.
Mission mode and Combat mode add to an all round fun experience for those playing in multiplayer or going it solo against AI controlled characters.
Speaking of AI the other riders are extremly skilled at keeping up with you, by making even one mistake youll find you may be taken over by several other riders before you get your bearings. Speed competitors including Amy Rose which Gamer.tv are terrified of, manage to get ahead of the pack and provide the real obstacle to beat in the game. Sadly most of the time you wont see the slower power characters or the nimble flying characters as the AI uses the best routes possible for that specific class ( although they did say that they were stunned several times by Knuckles and Storm getting ahead of them by smashing through a whole lane of traffic in metal city )
All in all 4 out of 5 aint bad, considering most of the games reviewed dont get that high. They dont always put reviews on their website but they might put up sonic riders one day.

im convinced it maybe a costume for tails though as the proportions were off. Still heres hoping it was Nack.
They gave it 4 out of 5 stars, which makes me want it even more.

What exactly is the big spoiler news again? I couldn't follow what you were talking about on the link.
Even if it is true (I'm sceptical), it's not a big deal.
If this were a core game and he featured, then huzzah, the fans could throw ticker-tape, but this gets a meaningless shrug from the me.
But it means that he's back, and therefore there's a higher possibility of him being in a 'main' game. But for those of us that are excited simply about his supposed inclusion in this game - well, I guess him just being there is enough. Perhaps a bit of fanboyism at work.
Personally taking this with a grain of ye olde salt, considering that we've had a full character roster known for a while now, and the robots were on that before we ever saw them, plus we've had a few sources (not just one) state that NiGHTS-AiAi-Ulala is true, and some of them also said Super Sonic. If this character does indeed turn out to be there though, he'd possibly overtake Super Sonic's position, I'd say (as Super is the one we've least heard about).
I watch Gamer TV (which is sometimes a masochistic act), but as I'm in New Zealand, we get the episodes a bit later. I'm hoping though this ep will be aired here soon so I can confirm or discredit this for myself.
Without screaming "It's a hoax!", yeah, Gamer TV's reviews can be pretty short, so I'd like to know where this character was seen. If it were in simple on-the-fly game footage of the char (seen from behind as it would be), I'm a bit wary of the level of detail the original poster of the spoiler has gone into (though that's thrown away if they recorded the episode and watched it back to study the character). If it were in a story scene or character select screen, then I'd buy into it more easily.
Thing is for me, I'm being cautious as it sounds too good to be true (to me, at least). I'd love it to be true though. What class would he be (Speed/Fly/Power)?
This is SEGA we're talking about. They get us to buy things by milking the fandom. I wouldn't be suprised if they held back popular characters for the sheer joy of being able to unleash them later and have the sales jolt. Worked with Metal Sonic and Chaotix, afterall.
I doubt the company wouldn't be aware of what a cash cow that particular character is. I've seen plushies of him going for over $500 (which makes it the most rare piece of Sonic merch which was released to the public), the day they put him as a playable character is when I admit he's "back"
Plus, I wouldn't care. I don't like him as a character and know 4Kids will get a horrible pseudo-Aussie dude to do him based on the hat alone.

The Gamertv Reviewer clearly states that there is a comparison between riders and other racing games recently, at which point it switches to showing a 3 second clip from the CRazy Frog Game

Granted it had purple coloring, a V tail but it had many sharp teeth,not just one snaggletooth like nack, but also it was wearing Crocodile Dundee clothing. *Forgot to mention the Bike is nothing more than a motorbike not a hoverbike.
The problem is Gamertv dont show the Games HUD so its very hard to distingush the two different games for all the 3 seconds it took. It was quite easy to get over excited and start saying it was nack but as i stated early i didnt think it was him as he looked 'off model'.

Still, I'm quite glad about the proposed complexity/diversity of the missions and the apparent gigantic amount of customization possibilities of the gear.
Commentator disabling is great and I suppose JP voices will be a nice bonus if the ENG VAs turn out to do their job even worse than usual and you can have ENG subtitles.
