True.. Ulala is brightly colored in design and all, so I guess she'd fit, though I think it'd be better if they did with her what they did with Honey in STF, if she were to be in RIders. XD Aiai just scares me.... he's all... candy-like. I'd rather have Amigo or Billy Hatcher. Still, I really like Vector, as he's my fave chara besides Fang and SHadow in the game universe, and that's why I wanted chaotix. I could care less about Charmy or Espio, though. ANd, Super Sonic or Metal are most likely teh final unlockable, but I think SS should just be a special power up for a final race or something in story mode. Oh well, as I keep saying, in February, all will be revealed.

Nah, there are similar CG movies to Shadow in it for Story Mode. Theres a preview on one of the movies. Looks gorgeous. Not as gorgeous as that anime intro but still pretty.

The trick system in Sonic Riders involves three mechanics: grinding, trick zones, and turbulence. Grinding is exactly what it sounds like--the ability to ride a pipe or rail--and it offers you a higher racing speed for as long as you stay on. Trick zones are areas you'll find at set points on each track in the game; they act as springboards that let you perform any of the available trick actions. The various tricks you'll be able to perform will revolve around how far you jump--determined by how long you charge the jump button--and how well you time your button presses. Turbulence is a unique take on the concept of "drafting" normally seen in car-based racers. In Sonic Riders you'll see that when opponents travel at high speeds they'll leave a trail behind them. You'll be able to hop in and surf inside the turbulence and even pass the opponent who created it if you angle yourself properly. In some cases you'll even find trick areas that will cause you to automatically perform tricks to increase your speed and fill your air tank.
As for where you'll be honing your racing skills, Sega gave us a look at some of the tracks in the game. The four tracks are Metal City, Splash Canyon, Egg Factory, and Sand Ruins. Metal City is a bustling metropolis with a car-filled freeway and massive high-rise buildings. Splash Canyon is a dizzying collection of waterfalls, waterwheels, and caves in the great outdoors. Egg Factory sends you through Dr. Eggman's robot factory, which features blast furnaces and conveyor belts to make things interesting. Finally, Sand Ruins offers mountains of shifting sand peppered with temples and tombs.
Sonic Riders is currently slated to ship early next year for the GameCube, PlayStation 2, and Xbox. Look for more on the game in the coming weeks

If it wasn't already confirmed that the characters were split into spd/pow/fly, it is now. I'll see if I can divide the confirmed characters into the groups.
Going by the ???s on the site, there are 6 spd characters, 5 fly, and 5 pow, unless they left some secret ones out entirely. In addittion, I can also see a green robot in Sonic's screenshots, so I'm going to assume that at least one of the two rumored robots is in the game.

Scooting Eggy down with the rest of Team Dark, and throwing in Team Rose while they're at it. Big doesn't need to have a part in story mode (ST can't come up with more than "THOSE BAD BIRDIES HAVE FROGGY!"), he can just be unlockable.
HSW, I agree with you on most choices there. Here's my prediction I posted at another forum:

Combination: Super Sonic
I don't think they're making teams apart from the 'Team Sonic' and 'Team Babylon'. They could be, but it'd be a bit odd. I'm not sure about Shadow and Rouge siding with Eggman, especially when two of his E-Series are present. AiAi might turn out to be power, making a team of Ulala, NiGHTS and AiAi ('Team Otherworld'? 'Team NonCanon'? 
). That means one robot gets kicked out of being Power class. The green robot looks much like the red one (we've seen both in screenshots now), I just assumed they'd both be power. But if there was a team of Eggman-robot-robot, then you're left with either Amy and Cream or Shadow and Rouge being paired with an 'otherworlder', breaking that team up..
Either way, someone gets put into a team they don't suit at all.
We have one more speed character than we have Fly and Power characters, so unless someone turns out to be a mere rumor, and instead of the supposed 17 we get the more publicised 16 - resulting in Super Sonic being the extra Speed character... we have someone missing out on being part of a team anyway.
Hm. If we didn't have these supposed non-Sonic characters coming in, we could have had:
Speed: Sonic, Jet, Amy, Shadow, E-10000g
Fly: Tails, Wave, Cream, Rouge, E-10000r
Power: Knuckles, Storm, Big, Omega, Eggman
Teams fit nicely this way (Super Sonic is the extra Speed char and we assume the '17 characters' thing is indeed just an error and we indeed do have just the 16). But the inclusion of non-Sonic chars is apparently truth, and the lame new robots don't look like Speed or Fly characters, so yeah, I revert back to the assumption we don't have any more teams than simply T.Sonic and Babylon.
The other robot's confirmed, eh? I guess I should have stayed adamant about all info on this game...o wel.

Yeah, both robots are there, from screens. Obviously, the 'G' and 'R' at the end of their 'E-10,000' denotes 'Red' and 'Green'.

About extra characters being unlocked with memory card saves. It wont happen really because there were alternate ways of unlocking stuff. It annoys me that there are two new robot characters (Pics of the green one on the japanese site on the Sonic Profile) no love for Big, Omega, Metal Sonic, Espio, Billy Hatcher, Reala, Amigo, Rez Dude. No love at all. The extra character could be that Angel of Babylon. Or Perfect Chaos *Floods the stage* Chaos Wins.

With temper intact, Knuckles is as aggressive as ever, and is ready to show Eggman he can't be fooled...again. After he puts Eggman to shame, he'll head home to Angel Island to resume his watch over the precious Master Emerald.
Jet The Hawk
Has Sonic finally met his match? This mysterious new character is widely known as the "Legendary Wind Master" due to his impressive Extreme Gear skills. Wave The Swallow
This mechanically-gifted member of the Babylon Rogues is a genius and Extreme Gear is her specialty. Her father, in fact, was the mechanic for the previous generation of the Babylon Rogues. While Tails and Dr. Eggman are talented, Wave's skills are far superior.
Storm The Albatross
The power-packed force of nature is Jet's right hand man and the muscle of the Babylon Rogues. He has a quick temper and may stutter when he's flustered, but if your quick youi can outrun him since he's stronger than he is fast.
Blue Star
Sonic might be new to boarding, but on the blue star board, which only he can ride, he's a tough competitor for the pros. This board was produced by Robotnik, Inc. specifically for Sonic.
Yellow Tail
Tails was already comfortable with his air tricks, so he caught quick thanks to his trusty Yellow Tail Board and his many airbourne talents. This board was created by Robotnik, Inc. specifically for Tails.
Red Rock
Knuckles doesn't have a lot of patience, especially for obstacles in his path. On his Red Rock Board, created by Robotnik, Inc. for Power Type Characters, he blazes past competitors and knock obsstuctions (including cars) far and wide.
Type J
The Babylon Rogues have their own special series of boards and this mean green Speed Type is built specifically for Jet, the infamous leader. Is it better than Sonic's board? Only time will tell.
Type W
Wave comes from a family of riders. so it's no suprise that she's a pro. When riding her special Type-W Board, created for Flight Type Babylon characters, Wave flies high above the competiton.
Type S
He's a force of nature alright, and nothing is going to stand in his way when he's blazing around on his custom board.

I actually think they are talking about the Extreme Gear Boards rather than robot making skills. Mind you though, all she would have to do to be better than Eggman is make a robot with no obvious weakness.
