That picture... wasn't Knuckles there before? I'm really starting to hate Silver.
EDIT: Oh, you said FOURTH charachter. So, is Knuckles still in this?
Yep. Sonic and Shadow are still in the exact same poses. But, Knuckles has been replaced by Silver. Where is Tails, anyway?
Tails is not a rival therefore he is not in this game.
Ever since Sonic Adventure 2 - Sonic Heroes, Knuckles wasn't a rival, either.
He's always up for a challenge, though. It's in his nature. Moreso than Tails, anyway.

So, Silver the Hedgehog is fast, then. I miss the times of Sonic being the ONE AND ONLY FASTEST THING ALIVE. -.-
Well, from what I've seen in the E3 Sonic next gen demo here, Silver is actually very slow, comparable to Amy in Sonic Adventure and can only attack by throwing objects at other characters through telekinesis.

Played Sonic Battle recently?
Actually, I have. Good point, Dirk. But, everybody was a rival to each other in Sonic Battle, including Tails.
Sonic Cult has some nice footage on Sonic Rivals(as well as the other Sonic E3 games). You can find it here.
The game looks kinda boring. =/
I'm gonna be flat BROKE when this year is over... Wii, PSP, PS3, and a bus-load of games...
Uggh.
If you get all of those by the end of the year, you'll either be in massive debt, in jail(for theft =P) or you are the richest man/woman alive. Which is it bub?
What you could do instead is like...wait... They will be cheaper later. Or you know just buy the games and stare at them...
*bought Advance Wars: DS for 13, has no DS*
No, I'm just going to have to NOT BUY ANYTHING TILL THEN!!!!!!!!! NOT EVEN FOOD!!!!!!!!
I'LL MOOCH OFF MY PARENTS!!!
BWAHAHAHAHAHAH!!
... Sorry. That was too ridiculous to resist!
i don't think it looks too great, but most games for psp don't look great anyways. I might buy it when the price goes down. don't you guys think that psp games are way too expensive.
JT, you have a point there...
I'll just get the games and read the instruction manuals to death.
Profiles on Sonic, Shadow and Knuckles.
Plus gorgeous concept arts.
Edit: DARN YOU PLAIN TEXT

First, here's a brief recap on the basics of the game: you'll need to contend with the usual lot of lethal traps and goodies. The biggest threat, though, comes from rivals. These racers will try their best to win, and this includes attacking you. But you have your own set of offensive and defensive tools. The first one lets you jump ahead of characters without harming them. The second lets you slap them, causing them to slowdown and trip. You also get a bunch of power-ups throughout the race. Interestingly, each one does something different depending on your position: second or first.
So that how it works. It similar to what they use in Riders. The concept art looks beautiful.
The concept art looks beautiful, but the game still looks boring. =/
you know what they say on't judge a book by its cover!
ok, for anyone that cares, wal-mart appear to have rivals for $19.82 atm, http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=5013080&sourceid=03763338993348873168 I think they fed'up the price, so be quick about it :O
Here, from IGN once more, is some more artwork; this time, the art and photos relate to the bots that'll most likely exist in the game.
The artwork reminds me of the concept art for the robots in the olden games -- though, these look a tad more serious.
EDIT: Nevermind, there he is.
The dog look pretty cool. The Dead Eyes Eggman Turtle boss looks like it was reject boss from Sonic Heroes.
Really wierd looking. He's flat as paper and rolled to the shape of the glass, gleaming lifelessly from the cockpit. ^^ The graphics in this game are spectacular. No, really, they are.

Oddly enough he resembles how he look on the cover Sonic 2 with the black eyes
"Dead Eyes Eggman" = Eggman from the cover Sonic 2 with the black eyes
I'm glad we had this talk.
XDXD! These graphics are superb.

Or a Mecha Koopa Troopa.
^_^ ^_^ ^_^
I've been wating for this day since Sonic Triple Trouble!
Wow. you waited along time GT. Im still getting a ds. I heard the psp battery is weck. (wants to play rush. )
I will never sway to a PSP. Rivals looks great, but I'm not wasting anything on it. I'll just look around my sources to see the ending to Rivals. :"> ). That's how I roll. If you have the urge to call me a douchbag, go ahead and say it; I'm still not wasting my money.

Well you can always wait for Sonic Team to released it on one the future Mega Collections just like they did with the Game Gears games.
In, what, 10 years? Come on.
TTG Got a point there, SHAD.
No no, he's got a point. HOWEVER! This may be a problem. If Rivals is a great success, then more people will buy the PSP. That means more people will waste their money! Rivals may be good, but almost no other PSP game is! Let's hope that it will be great, but not a major success like Halo 3 will be.
Were ALSO have a good point!

No, he doesn't. What he does have is rabid irrational anti-Sony fanboyism, which is never good =/
Hey! I like Sony! It's just that...well, I was surprised to learn that my brother pre ordered a PS3 for us without me knowing, but I guess that doesn't really have to do with it. It's just that overall, the PSP is not very good. I heard that the controls are difficult and stuff.
Also, I think it's a little over expensive. XP
Who cares if other people 'waste' their money on a PSP? If they're going to get one to play Rivals, they've likely either seen what else the machine has to offer and like it, or find Rivals alone worth the price of purchase (which is arguably crazy at this point, but we're all crazy in our own ways).
I'm aware of PSP's flaws, but [if I do end up buying one] I am fairly certain I'll be happy as long as it doesn't have the inability to read new games due to a poor quality drive.. that will cost more than the price of a new machine to have fixed *glares at his original Xbox*.
I have nothing anginst sony. I do wish they also put rivals on the DS. Maybe they Will. (Im a sonic junkie so sue me) besides if the psp don't work you can sell for money for that ps3/revoution/360!
Majority of north america's and UK's population like Sony more than any other company.
And I'd like to see another sonic game for the DS...in 3d not just a platform...idea's ideas, oh well.

Based on the sales of their non PS-brand eletronics, I highly doubt this is true.
Even if they don't put it on the DS, in the next say, 5-10 years (maybe less), a simple and free PSP emulator will be available. Yes, I know, it's illegal unless you own the game in real life, but that....look, don't turn me in. Lots of people have illegal emulators, too. It's just that the free expression of ideas on the net prevents people from being fined because of this.
But anyway, it would be cool. Heck, DS emulators are already out. No joke, I have loaded one, and I'm trying to upgrade it. Can't expect any results until next year though, so no one bother me about wanting it.
I also have a Genesis emulator for S&K3 and Sonic 2. A Gameboy Advance emulator, SNES, and even 64.
Note: If anyone knows how to use ISO's, let me know.
No offence mate, but there's nothing new about emulation, or secret either, or special, and I'll bet most people on this forum have ROMs and emulators anyway so turning you in is extremely unlikely. ^^
Well, from what I've seen, THe N64 runs fairly well on a PC, so if a PSP isn't any more powerful than that, an emulator wouldn't be all that hard to use at all.
The N64 is not for laptops like mine. Bear that in mind.
I AM extremely unlucky! Crap......
Ok maybe not UK, TTG but North america, because that was according to the IGN PSP message board.
The problem with a PSP emulator is the unconventional source material. I don't know a whole lot about that sort of thing, but it seems to me that UMDs would be a lot harder to extract image files from than, say, your average PS2 dvd.
And yes, DS emulators do exist, but they're buggy as hell and not likely to ever work perfectly.
Tell me about it. They only have 5 games for DS emulator so far, and I am not going to try them. In about a year or so, there will be better DS emulators, no doubt. I'm messing with mine so I can get it to work better and not mix the graphics.
Progress is slow but surely.
There ARE lots of DS ROMS on the net, but for the "jackpot" site for these ROMS requires Emule, and that program doesn't start loading the ROM info at all. I need help with that, like the uTorrent.
Does anyone know how to get a Bit Torrent to work? I mean, for me, it doesn't load the info from a Torrent.
I can't wait for next year. Lots o' emus to choose from.
