Why can't Sonic run on water like The Flash or something?
He can run on water o.o
He does this in hydrocity in Sonic 3. He also does this in Sonic Unleashed several times. These may be the only times.
Well, he does it quite a bit in Sonic 2006 THAT NEVER HAPPENED LOL
Also the Rush games and probably the Advance titles. He runs on water, man.

Hydrocity is my favorite water zone in any Sonic game for the sheer amount of water running.
Unfortunately, most Sonic games are lacking in opportunities for the Blue Blur to hydroplane. Most water zones require you to navigate the depths instead of running up top.
Water is not his weakness, if it was he wouldn't have made it past the first game!

In Quantom's world: Everybody who doesn't know how to swim doesn't ever need to intake water to keep hydrated.
His inability to swim is certainly Sonic's greatest weakness and applies to any liquid not just water.
Before I go wildly off topic, as well as running over water, what about in the Aqua Lake Zone in S2GG, if you were running fast enough and jump into the water you'd bounce along the top like you were skimming a stone. Also in Triple Trouble if you do a Strike Dash before the water you'd hop along the top of the water, still running.
