The good fellas over at the Sonic Stadium have found a recently patented name by SEGA, "Sonic Rush Adventure".
www.sonicstadium.org/sonicnews/285/
Personally, if the game comes to fruition, the "Adventure" in the title sounds like it'll be Sonic Rush on a grander scale, so I'm hoping for a home console game, rather than DS. Maybe 3D adventure fields, and 2D action stages?
The "Rush" in the title makes me , but the "Adventure" makes me
Then again, this could all mean nothing at all. The game may have a different name all together, or not come into fruitation at all.
Ohnoes imma gonna half to call mai sonic fan geam : sonic adventure rush now or else ill get sooed by the sega. D:
Can't think of anything else to say now apart from my feelings are 50% opposite to Ashide's.
Could be worse though. Shadow Rush Heroes.
Oh, so now we're gonna bashing the game because 1/3rd of its name? Gah! If the below average Sonic games doesn't turn me off, the fans sure will. >_>;
We found out about the "Sonic Gems Collection" title by similar means to this, so it could be true.
kinda contradicts the "putting Sonic games on hiatus" though, unless they intend to work on this title for quite a while, or they want to expand on Sonic Rush, which people generally liked.

No for me its 2/3rds of the name. And I'm not sure about the whole "Sonic" part of it.
I was going to say the Adventure series wasn't that bad but then I remembered "If you have time to worry... Just run...". So that killed that comment off.
There are a lot of elements from the Adventure series that would be quite fun. Upgrades, Hub Levels where you can test out said upgrades and yeah.
Same for Rush. 2.5D graphics, multiple routes and yeah.
On the downside though, a game with terrible camera, confusing story, bad controls, moments when you can't keep up with the terrible camera and a rush meter. Le Sigh.
Gr, I never had a DS so I could care less about the "Rush" series.
It's like Sonic Team is TRYING HARD to avoid releasing a "Sonic Adventure 3" =_=

That was Sonic 2K6, though. If you're looking for awkward dialog, you can't go wrong with "Look out! You're gonna crash! Aaah!"
OCB from the GHZ seemed to be implying there's gonna be a Rush 2 on the DS; so I guess this fits the bill.
There is awkward and there is uncomfortable. Sonic 2k6 was Sonic Adventure 3 in all but name, so I'm sticking with it.
^ What he said.
Completely killed any enthusiam I had for future or related installments of the Adventure series.
I mean why would it be called Adventure instead of Rush 2?
I third'd what John says.
Why it's called Sonic Rush Adventure? I'm just gonna go with what some people already stated and say that it's possibly combining elements of both series. *shrugs*
Maybe is a remake of the original Sonic Adventure for DS.
Maybe it's a behind-the-scenes take on the state of developing Sonic titles.
Sonic "Rush" Adventure, get it? Eh? No? Hm...
I was thinking more Sonic Rush "Adventure", myself.
I been thinking maybe the game is Sonic Rush for XBOX Live Arcade or Virtual Console.
I've been thinking its a game where Sonic becomes a gynaecologist.
Why do I feel like making a Green Gibbon-y comment now about Amy? @ John's post
A Sonic Rush game with the Adventure fields from Sonic Adventure? Still that name doesn't roll of the tongue real well...I hope if they make this game, it doesn't have Shadow
The last time they named a Sonic game after a previous game, it was Sonic the Hedgehog. Now they're doing it with 2 games, and the Adventure makes me cringe because SA was a bad game with good presentation and STH (SA3) was a bad game. I am already expecting a debacle of epic proportions. Somebody tell me when they do Sonic Heroes 2: This Time With Bug Testing And Level Exploration. THAT I'd get excited about.
I'm reluctent to get excited about a Sonic game now. Meh, Secret Rings pretty much did it in for me. Granted, that game's okay, but I digress.
I'm not going to buy another Sonic game until there's one that doesn't warrent a poor score from pretty much every game review outlet.
It needs to be stable, with minimal glitches, where one wrong move doesn't send the headgehog clipping through a wall and to his death. There shouldn't million bottomless pits, either...
A game that has a camera that allows the player to freely control it and the player actually controls the damn game itself.
It also doesn't rely on cheap cutscene shortcuts for loop-de-loops, ect. because there's actual speed control.
I want a game that lacks Shadow. A game where Eggman's the actual villian. I'd love to see a Sonic game with an actual story, too.
Wake me when that happens, please. XP
**wakes up, Rip Van Winkle-style, 20 years into the future** Huh? Sonic Adventure: Big's Fishing Tour?! OH SWEET CHRISTMAS.
Yeah for some reason I can't get excited about this. But that's mainly because the M&S Olympics hype is still out there. And all we have is a patent right now. I agree with Sonic Stadium that it would be wise to release this on the DS.

8 is a poor score?
It is if you're a Zelda fan.

Sequel to Critically-Acclaimed Sonic Rush is now in Development
LONDON & SAN FRANCISCO (April 16, 2007) - SEGA Europe Ltd. and SEGA of America Inc. today announced the development of Sonic Rush Adventure for the Nintendo DS system. Sonic Rush Adventure will seamlessly utilise both screens of the Nintendo DS to navigate the high seas in search of pirate treasure, delivering Sonics classic high-speed 2D gameplay in the ultimate Sonic handheld experience. Developed by SEGA Studios, Sonic Rush Adventure for the Nintendo DS will be available in Autumn 2007.
Sonic returns to the Nintendo DS in an all-new frantic adventure complete with dizzying dives, near vertical curves and brain twisting loops. Sonic Rush Adventure will retain the DS action that fans loved so much from Sonic Rush, as well as providing a new high seas adventure where Sonic clashes with ruthless pirates. Players will set off from Windmill Village as Sonic and blast their way through seven action-packed and widely diverse levels. Sonic Rush Adventure will make full use of the DS Download Play feature and Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection, which enables gamers to compete with friends in wireless racing and mission-based battles.
Guide Sonic through numerous action stages in the fast and furious single player mode, whilst collecting valuable items and materials that enable Sonic and Tails to track down the villainous pirates. With a fleet of up to five ships, including a submarine, water bike and hovercraft, Sonic Rush Adventure uses the Touch Screen technology in exciting new ways. Use the Nintendo DS Stylus to help control vessels as they race across the ocean gathering rings, performing tricks, and torching pirate boats, whilst engaging in fierce ship-to-ship battles. At the end of each level, epic 3D boss battles spanning both screens will test gamers skills to result in an ultimate showdown with the evil boss character, Captain Whisker.
Sonic Rush Adventure allows players to bounce, fly, swing, ride and run through grand environments of lush forests, an ominous ghost ship, snow covered mountains, pirate villages and a vast underwater sea cave. Along the way there will be a variety of enemy characters to battle against including robots, skeleton warriors, pterodactyls, and a robotic triceratops.
Ahoy! Thar be treasure on that island! Evast!
Who gives a damn if it's got a stupid name, it's Sonic Rush with pirates and Wifi. Hell yes. That said, Dimps probably won't be helping out this time, so...
A full blown game about pirates? Ninjas can't be far behind!
Anyway, is Blaze in this one?
From DBZ to One Piece o.o
I bet Espio is playable!
And I want a pirate character. >=O
EDIT:
CAPTAIN WHISKERS!!!
LOOK AT ALL THOSE EGGMAN'S ROBOTS
And here I thought Captain Whiskers was going to be a mouse @ Erika
Don't ask me why.
I can see what is going to happen now. "Suprise! Eggman created Captain Whiskers and is the secret final boss!" Which though predictable sounds actually pretty cool.
Oh and those who wanted Sonic to wear a pirate hat n' garb in the Sonic Risk thread just might get their chance =D
The Good:
1.) A new Sonic Rush!!
2.) Pirates!
3.) More touch screen functions!
The Bad:
1.) Controlling a pirate ship to battle? No thanks. I want all platforming action.
2.) Tails, but no Blaze.
3.) If Hideki Naganuma is not doing the soundtrack I will go on a killing spree! First, I'll kill all the ants crawling around in my kitchen. Then, I'll take some medication and kill some of those innocent germs living inside me. After that, I'll take some spray, and kill all the roaches under the floorboards of my basement!! Those roaches have famalies y'know!!
Wasn't there a pirate captain boss in Sonic and the Secret Rings? Captain Behemoth or something?

CAPTAIN WHISKERS!!!
Captain Whiskers??? But he doesnt look like a cat . This game look like a DS version of Secret Rings from the looks of it.Only with pirates instead of genies.
The 1st person screens of the game looks so much like those Crash Bandicoot boar/polar-bear/tiger riding levels.
Last game I played with a general pirates theme was Donkey Kong Country 2. If this is anywhere as good, I'll be quite happy. Shoot, Nack would be perfect for this game...
The game sounds pretty cool so far.
Definately on my to get list.
There was a boss called Captain Behemoth Dub, but it was hardly a pirate, more of a giant jellyfish.
Looks pretty sweet. Captain Whiskers = Big Nega? Hmmm...
Hope you can play as Blaze and Knuckles.
A Sonic game with WiFi = instant win.
Pirates = instant win.
It being a Sonic Rush game = SUPER instant win.
Captain Whisker = ...interesting...
Yep, this game will rock.

At worst, this sounds like a warning sign.
As long as the touch screen gameplay doesn't interfere with the blazing speed of the zones, I'm happy.
I'd rather they tone the speed down a little, focus a little more on platforming and level exploration.

However, it would be balls if we have to play some hi-speed, poorly implimated jetski mini game before we have to access said levels--just like the Gummi Ship deal in KH.
And isn't Sega Studios = Sonic Team USA
At first, I was trying to find the connection between "robots" and "whiskers"...
I hope there'll be less bottomless pits, Rush is fun, but I'm afraid of exploring the stages, because anywhere I go there's bottomless pits.
