What's the point of complaining? I'm sure over 90% of you would tolerate or even LIKE the new character after you played as her. >_>
Well we don't even know what her special abilities are, if anything and we are already complaining.
Special abilities = rabies, knocking over trash cans
Will her special abilties be brand new gimmick or a rip-off of an old gimmick that was previously an exclusive move to an older character? Or will she be even playable at all? Stay tuned this E3 to find out!

Besides, the 90% may be an exaggration, but still I'm sure some of the ones who complain about this racoon will love her when the game's out.

Now, now it's not like I insulted you or your relatives.
However, it is annoying when people say "why should you complain" or "you shouldn't complain about idea X, because the game isn't out yet!" to the waning fans here, especially when the team who is making the game doesn't have a great record--especially concerning the Sonic franchise.

I'd say Cinnamon may not be too far off. She looks like she's more of a tomboy than Cream, though I don't know if that would really effect her name. I'm gonna guess something like "Rita," or anything starting with "R."
Well off the top of my head there hasn't been any alliteration with the names of Sonic's little friends. So I'd doubt there would be any now.
I still want to believe that this is the greatest hoax of all time though. She probably already has her own deviant art fan club and everything. and then: It was hoax lols. Take that internets. Take that.

Bandit the Raccoon...Rita the Raccoon...nah...too creative considering these are the same people who named a silver hedgehog "Silver" and a black antihero "Shadow". But anything's possible.
People are trying to explain why Sega and Sonic Team are so hell-bent on creating a new mascot for each game...I'm thinking they do it simply to give in-house character designer Yuji Uekawa something to do...a reason to keep him on the payroll.

They don't need to create new characters for that. He can just keep drawing new illustrations for the hundreds of characters they already have. Heck, he can draw various scenes of the characters and Sega can release a new Sonic the Screensaver.

Sonic Adventure 1 & 3 (2 introduced Cream).

There's never been a Sonic Adventure 3. Sonic Advance didn't add any characters, but Sonic Advance 3 had G-Mel (I still don't know what this guy's official name is...)

I know Uekawa has other projects...he's too talented to sit on his ass all day drinking soda...I was half joking about it giving him something to do. But is there any other explanation as to why a new mascot shows up with practically every new release? I'm open to any ideas...
Maybe the powers that be over at Sega think they are keeping the series fresh by putting in new characters. Trying to keep things fresh is fine and all...but this isn't the way to do it. I think the last new character who actually contributed something new and fun to the overall gameplay was E-102. And even that wasn't very innovative...he just shot whatever he saw.

Who says he HAS to be a Sonic clone? Espio, Charmy, and Vector post-Heroes have vastly different play styles than they did in Chaotix. Who's to say Mighty wouldn't get the same treatment?
Would you honestly expect Sega to take the time to do that?
*sigh* About as much as I expect them to bring back Gamma. It'd be about as equally unlikely as it would be awesome, in both cases. But I've been pleasantly surprised before.

Instead of making craploads of hedgehogs and other useless characters couldn't sega just make a new design for mighty the armadillo and bring him back? am i the only one that does want an armadillo sonic character??... sheesh.. and nack needs to come back too.. but yeah..
Nope, you're not the only one, Nack. I also wanted Silver to be a different/new species, too (porcupine) because whereas Sonic, Shadow and Amy all have their quills coming off the back of their heads, and those quills are quite fat (well, Amy's are kinda flat, but they're still wide), most of Silver's come from the front of his head, and are thin like echidna quills.
It peeves me a little because now when I want to sketch up a porcupine character I have to stay away from makng him look too much like Silver... and really, he stole the best possible design for a porcupine. Google image search the critter and you'll see the long, sweeping hairs on it's head (which remind me a lot of Silver's face-fan), and further back, more typical hedgehog/echidna style quills (like Silver's two big spikes at the back).
But then there won't be online discussions on who's the father

it just seems like sega is really scraping the bottom of the barrel for characters now adays.. they have so many animals to choose from yet they chose a thimble full of animals and make craploads of characters from those species.. they have other animal kindgoms besides mammals. i want to see an gecko, turtle, iguanua, and other reptiles. Amphibians have yet to be touched it seems.. and yet, we have one insect character...i thought it would have been a better idea if the babylon(sp) rogues were diverse animals instead of 3 birds.. like a reptile, mammal, and an insect or arachnid..
Myself, I would love to see a super powered or highly skilled human on the good guys' side for once.
