This was all quoted from somewhere else:

Information from ONM exclusive preview
- They admit to the leaked footage but claim to have been shown more than what has already been leaked.
- They confirm the whole game is definitely not on rails like Secret Rings, even for the 3D parts.
- Positive reactions to gameplay and camera from 'hands-on' experience.
- Confirm that Sonic Unleashed is being developed by Sonic Team Japan and is not spread out between production teams as some sources claim.
- Sonic and 'Were-Sonic' are split into two levels, day and night respectfully. Sonic has normal high-speed running and jumping and Were-Sonic is slightly slower and more agile. Sonic dodges past obstacles whereas Were-Sonic manhandles them out of the way and can toss enemies around, plus his overly-long arms let him traverse the levels by swinging instead of running 'in an almost Donkey Kong feeling at times'.
- Were-Sonic is confirmed as NOT being evil but simply being a hulk version of Sonic.
- According to ONM what they have seen so far of the two different gameplay styles they have melded together nicely.
- They have been informed that Tails and Amy 'pop up' but suspect other regulars such as Knuckles and Shadow may creep in as well.
Also included are various screenshots, many I am sure we have all seen before and one or two which appear new to me. The new ones are mostly just showing off background graphics which all look gorgeous.
As far as graphics go the Wii version must be exactly like the screenshots we have seen so far, perhaps though the final will simply have a lower resolution to the 360/PS3 version.
Interview with Yoshihisa Hashimoto breakdown
- Great adventure all around the world. Various new action systems and new abilities.
- Project started planning to create Sonic Adventure 3 and in the developers minds the game will have more in common with the Adventure games. No relation to Sonic 360 or Secret Rings.
- Trapped by Dr. Robotnik's evil plan, the power of the chaos emeralds is misused and something changes in Sonic's body.
- Nunchuk is included in the control method this time.
- Three new moves include Sonic Boost (by collecting rings, Ring Energy will fill up, which you can use to dash through the course at high speed), Sonic Drift (players will be able to take a short turn at any sharp curves while running through the course) and Quick Step (when running in high speed with an obstacle ahead, players will be able to move left or right rapidly). Other actions will be revealed later.

Interesting stuff. Were-Sonic doesn't sounds completly terrible (gameplay wise) either.
Do we dare get excited about this game cuz it's hard not do?!!
Worried about the next, decent looking game in the Sonic series, Sonic Unleashed? Why wouldn't you be? The last game on Xbox 360 and PS3 was after all, absolute pap.
Reassuringly, the game's lead designer Yoshihisa Hashimoto at Sonic Team has cut ties with the badly received last adventure, telling our on-off friends at Official Nintendo Magazine (they've stopped lending us Wii Remotes) that Sonic Unleashed "has no relation" with the last game.
"As a development team, we originally started off this project planning to create Sonic Adventure 3", Hashimoto revealed to the magazine. "In our minds, this game will have more in common with the older Sonic Adventure series. It has no relation to Sonic the Hedgehog [on PS3/Xbox 360] or Sonic and the Secret Rings".
Sonic Unleashed, he went on, has been developed from scratch and "will purely be Sonic's new product. Of course, players will still be able to enjoy Sonic's symbolic actions such as Spin attack and Homing Attack".
The new game, which will be receiving versions on both Wii, Xbox 360 and PS3, looks like a long, long awaited return to speed-based platforming - well, apart from the fact that at night Sonic turns into a werehog.
In this form he's "a slightly slower and yet more agile beast. Where Sonic dodges past obstacles, Were-Sonic manhandles them out of the way and can toss enemies around like nobody's business", Official Nintendo Magazine explains. He also traverses levels by swinging on overly-long arms instead of running.
Official Nintendo Magazine's full interview with Yoshihisa Hashimoto and an extensive exclusive preview of Sonic Unleashed can be read in its new issue, #29, which hits your local newsagent this Friday.
Things are certainly looking up, but let's not jump to conclusions.
One thing that worries me there is that they said this has been made from scratch, but didn't they say that about 06 as well?
"..players will still be able to enjoy Sonic's symbolic actions such as Spin attack and Homing Attack."
Spin attack? More like half-assed weakly curled flip jump. It started in SA2 (where it wasn't too bad*) but it's gotten worse and worse with each subsequent game (though... what hasn't?). At least SSBB does it right.
*In SA2, if you held backwards and jumped mid-somersault, Sonic/Shadow would do a cool acrobatic back flip looking thing. For some reason you could only get that animation if you did the somersault after coming down from a jump (the jump would be normal if you were just running around before the somersault).
looks like a long, long awaited return to speed-based platforming - well, apart from the fact that at night Sonic turns into a werehog.
The first half of this phrase excites me, but that same statement has been claimed for the most recent games even with videos that looked as promising as the trailers for this game. The second half of the phrase just reminds me of Sonic Adventure gimicks of multiple "different" gaming styles in one game. Secret Rings has been the only Sonic game since Sonic R to have one straight-forward mode of gameplay (I don't count Heroes, because you had different characters incorporating different types of gameplay). I seriously just want one style of gameplay and if that one style is good enough then it won't matter that there is only one. HOWEVER, if the werehog side of gaming isn't as slow as say Big the , then maybe it won't be so bad. No offense, Big fans.
Is it so wrong that all I want in a Sonic game is him (and possibly Tails and Knuckles) running around aimlessly?
You should be ashamed for even thinking such a thing. Of course it's wrong.
The "From Scratch" thing is puzzling. They had SA1 to work off of for many years. Yet they ignored it and made some really bad level design mistakes. But as long as they don't use the.....thing that they used to make Sonic 06 then I'm okay with whatever they do. Honestly it LOOKS like a promising step in the right direction, given of course, the gamer will have to make that choice whenever a demo or something comes out. I hope it feels natural and easy.
SA1 had worse level design than any of them. The difference is 1. it had less pits 2. it was super polished and had awesome graphics for its time so people reacted positively.
What they've showed us so far doesn't really look like Sonic Adventure 3...But I'd love to have one of those.
Also, they used symbolic when they clearly meant iconic. Is this a sign of things to come?
I reckon SA1's stages were far better designed, myself. They felt more like real locations rather than the dressed up corridors of the subsequent 3D titles. Also there was no grinding (liked it enough in SA2 but it's degraded over time like everything else, and it's boring and over utilised now). There was lots of things to see, the stages had real life and there was some interesting little secret places and shortcuts. All playing modern Sonic games makes me want to do is play SA1 again - so I do, and I'm happy. The stages are much more fun to play than those of more recent Sonic games, IMO.

And it won't look a thing like Sonic Adventure 3 untill they announce a new chao garden.
A new chao garden would have some serious potential on Xbox Live.
This game sounds really cool. I actually like the idea of sonic being able to turn into a werewolf.
First screenshots of the Wii.
To those who still say that the Wii can't handle good graphics should just die now.
Sorry, Rick, but you're about 6 days late! John Taylor already out scooped you,by posting that video, last page.
I want my chao gardens back dangit
sorry my bad 😛 i found the vid and went foamy at the mouth
Ah, happens all the time and yes, the video is kinda cool.

So do I, preferably on a hand held system and with the capacity to raise 100+ chao.
I always thought a Chao game like Nintendogs would be good.

Arg. That's a two way street though. The game may be able to handle three hundred chao, but can you feed them all?

There is going to be a lot of tree humping.

They'll dine in Dark Garden!!
*uncomfortable*
aaaaah XDXDXD I didn't even see that @ my post
Who's head is that anyways?
King Leonadias.
Who?
Well now! The way they describe Were-Sonic sounds pretty interesting, actually... and it sounds like they have an ACTUAL explanation for it, too- the whole "misuse of the power of the Chaos Emeralds causes something to change in Sonic's body." Maybe this won't be half-bad. My guess? Part of the point of the game is going to be Sonic trying to counteract this change before it becomes permanent or some such- after all, he won't want to end up turning into a Were-hog FOREVER, right?
I know it's too early to predict the plot like this, but that's what it looks like it's going to be shaping up to be. And actually, I'd find that a refreshing, surprisingly DECENT plot twist- instead of the crazy "okay, what were they SMOKING?!?" crap we got with Sonic '06, with human/hedgehog romances and Final Fantasy-wannabe plot- COMPLETE WITH NUTTY TIME-TRAVEL HEADACHES!- we'd get something RELATIVELY original- sort of a cross between Metroid Prime 3 Corruption and the Sonic Adventure series.
illustrated!
Ray...come on now. How could you not tell, dude? Hahah @ Chibi's pic. That is quite illustrated indeed. lol
Bud, I never watched 300 and believe it or not, I have no interest to either.
You're not missin' much. ^_^
Is that what the public opinion is? (Though I rarely put stock in the public opinion.)
It has gratuitous amounts of MANLY, and it's pretty close to what actually happened for a movie, but other than that it depends on your taste in movies.
Oh god, we are so off-topic. XD

*ahem* What I said- and what got ignored- during that conversation. Just to get us back on-topic.
If someone wanted to reply to what you said, they would have. You don't need to repeat yourself just to be sanctimonious.
But to drag this back on topic - are there meant to be magazines coming out soon that have a preview of this or anything? I'm sure there's been a few mentioned, but I've kinda lost track.
ONM (UK) does have a preview. It goes against my Segaite religon to purchase it, though. And scans don't appear to have surfaced. Someone said it mentioned the leak though.
And apparently the exact same shots were used in the article to promote the game, suggesting that they are close enough to the Wii game.

Sorry. Just wanted to bring the discussion back on-topic was all. But point taken.
There was an interview on the Nintendo magazine. I can't remember were I found this out though, I even saw a scan of it. I'll keep looking for it though.
It looks like a map from CoD4. =P Nice screens though, oh yes. Very nice.
Because there are trees.
