tl;dr the game is called Sonic's Edusoft, and it was an unreleased educational game for the Master System. Search for the game on Sonic Retro's wiki for all the information you need plus more screenshots. Figured you guys wanted the truth as well so here you go.

Also if many people didn't know already, the letters "SPY" are the initials to my real name. So Team Fortress 2 jokes.

This game actually reminds me of an educational computer game I had to take in 5th grade as part of the computer class requirements, only it's Sonic-fied. The visuals are a bit similar, and you had to open up gates too.
