Does anybody see what happened in sonic heroes happening again? Going from level to level with no explanation with little to no plot. Now I see the storylines only getting better, seeing how we won't see another true console sonic game until next gen. Then again after the 2 adventure games I don't think anyone saw a basic story like in sonic heroes coming. So do you see deeper plots returning or more games like heroes with a more linear plot.

Heroes seemed like a step backwards. Even Sonic 3 & Knuckles had little animations showing how Sonic got from level to level and plot progression within the levels (particularly near the end).
Yeah theres that whole Good or Evil paths in Shadow.
So guess what i'm doing first.

Don't know, I really want to know how come Knuckles is the last echidna but then I would like a golden toilet seat and an ivory back scratcher.
Maybe some past levels returning. Chemical Plant ect.
I hope that next generation Sonic demo at E3 turns out to be a real game, and as for story I'm fairly confident that we won't see another "Heroes" with the Shadow game. The story seems to me to be one of the most important aspects of it. Izuka even mentioned it himself. And I'd love to see the next gen Sonic title (If it turns out to be real) be something along the lines of the Adventure Series. Sonic Rush may also have an adequate story. It has the potential, what with all the "other dimension" and "Sol Emeralds" malarkey.

Sonic takes crack and falls in love with Amy.
Knuckles has a full frontal lobotomy and falls for Rouge, a woman who's constantly on the lookout for a way to steal his family's jewels (har har).
Tails takes an English class and stops talking like a three-year-old.
Shadow turns out to be an alien.
Big turns out to be Blaze's brother.
Charmee turns out to be a girl.
Dr Robotnik hangs himself and GUN becomes the new evil enemy.
If Sonic Rush has an adequete story my fears will temporarily be put to rest concerning the next 3D game...
If not, then we will continue to bicker untill the series collapses or lifts off again... 
I personally want more of the legends in the sonic universe to be more apart of future plots. You know the history of the chaos emeralds, lost civilizations, monsterous vengeful gods you know those kind of things. And I want metal sonic to be more of a threating force but he should never turn into a dragon thing again. If sega does one of my points in future plots I think it could make sonic get that magical feeling again.

Although I am a little tired with all this stuff that happened 50 years a go and BLA BLA BLA. 
I would like a story to be in-depth, exciting, dark...stuff that will most likely pop up in Shadow.
I have an idea for a plot...but I doubt anyone would want to hear it and it's most likely never going to be used until I get software for making Flash.

WHAT?! Shadow should fall in love with Rouge! And Egghead must NOT commit suicide. If ANYONE should do that, I would personally like to see Shadow shoot himself. For dramatic effect, even though he's my fave character. Or Tails! That would be t3h ub3rn355. If anyone takes drugs, it should be Knux. I thought Tails' voice was FUNNY. Mr. Nasal-Cold Man.
And, I REALLY want to see Cream die. 
Cream was for Sonic Heroes. What will happen to her?
Well, odds on her Chao realising that he's the reason she has any freaking attack power at all, and being the true power behind Heroes Fly formation.
He'll kill Cream, and become even more powerful than the evil Omochao. Then he'll take over the world and all Chaos will turn on their masters who are kinda pathetic without them.
As Metal King said. Metal Sonic must return in all his glory. No huge transformation and stuff. I want Metal as he is. He should be a huge threat though...he's faster than Sonic, he's ruthless, unmerciful, and takes nothing from no one. I can't wait to get Gems and go against Metal...it'll be so sweet.
Heroes' plot was disappointing, to say the least. Sonic Team should've tried to focus more on Metal Sonic, just as they did with Chaos, Knuckles, and the Echidna civilization in SA, or Shadow in SA2. It was his grand return to the storyline, yet they didn't make good use of this.
Hell, in the game, you barely even saw him besides that little cutscene when he makes his first appearance after you defeat Egg Albatross with Team Sonic and Team Dark. You only see him again until the very end, and then he transforms into a huge, mechanical Megazoid-like apperance, which wasn't really needed at all.
Shadow the Hedgehog seems to make up for this with a much more detailed plot discussing Shadow's past, although I wouldn't mind Metal Sonic having a much bigger role in a future Sonic game.
It did focus on Metal Sonic...sort of. Metal Sonic was Eggman in Heroes.
I agree though Metal Sonic should feature heavily in the next Sonic game.
But then again i want Eggman to be the main villian in the next sonic game. Not GUN, Aliens, Water based gods or teenage angst ridden amenisic hedgehogs.
It might be because he has a great voice actor, it might be because hes delightfully insane or whatever. Eggman = main villian.
I wouldn't mind seeing someone replace Eggman for a game. Shadow's game has that potential. Perhaps in a future game, Eggman has a partner (not Snively, although it would be cool to see him in a game), who half-way through the game turns on him. Could be cool.
I really enjoyed sonic battle's storyline not just for the plot but because of its character development. If a gba game could make the characters grow so nicely, than a full console game could create a whole new dimention to the characters. Sonic especially to me he needs more character development than most of the other characters but thats just my opinion. Sonic battle did give us more of a look into all the characters personalities better, so in the future I want a console game to develop the characters as nicely as battle did at least. Yes I know it was a fighting game but sonic adventure also developed the characters well to, its just battle did it extremly well to me.

No, that's been constantly overused recently in the storyline so far, as a result this has gotten quite repetitive. It was cool the first time around when he teamed up with Chaos, but now that's just pushing it.
Or they could possibly turn that around and have Eggman betray the partner he teams up with. I bet no one would expect that!
LOL! Yeah right, like nearly every Sonic game Eggman "teams up" with Knuckles, and lies through his teeth at him every time

Deep characterization would be nice. Actual plot development would be even better. Surely somebody over there has taken at least one Creative Writing class.

Uh, no. We've already got a lot of characters and introducing more who just have attributes that other characters have already is pointless. Rouge the Bat is/was already a Secret Agent so there's no point.
