I got pecked to death by Rap Rappies infrount of my matets few times in PSO, that's embarassing.

Another classic that happened once in a while: I got to the end of the cutscene in Winged Fortress as Super Sonic, only to have the computer MISS THE TORNADO when Sonic is supposed to jump on. I just kinda sat there and stared a bit.
Actually this happens every.damn.time. I beat Wing Fortress as Tails. At some point I thought Tails couldn't get to the death egg. o.O
I still didn't figure out why this happens.. I just went to death egg via debug.
3 things... Super Sonic, Sky Chase, Spinball... instant death
ok i was on the end part of speed highway in sonic's story, ound a life and.....ran into the middle ofa road thinking "wahey!an extra li..."then this car gets me roadkilled. i must have been !
ya know...there are pointless lives somewhere in each game.
!
anyone found a life and got killed getting it?they ARE stupid deaths!
Just the other day I was playing through Egg Rocket Zone in Sonic Advance with Amy. I just so happened to be near the end on the third part of the level, and I had just barely gotten past some baddies and a spike trap. Anyway, I had no rings left and what do I do? While waiting impatiently for the platform to go back up I jumped on some spikes and died. And there was an extra life right not too high up from where I was...

do the dance and think "WOO!" then restart the fight. It's very annoying >.>
Funny post. Very funny. That happened to me once. I was fighting Egg Emperor with Team Chaotix in Sonic Heroes. As soon as I heard Dr. Robotnik say: "Deafeated? NOOO!" I shouted out "WTF!!" As the whole Team just bounced off of the walkway and fell into the pit of nothingness. I wanted to cry.
But anyway, I was playing Sonic Heroes, and (stupid me) decided to use omega to flip a switch. I had no idea what the switch was for, but all of a sudden a huge weight came crashing down from no where and trapped me underneath. I didn't even have a team blast.

XD! That is funny. Sorry but it is. Well for me I was playing through Sonic 1 about a week or so ago and I made it to Scarp Brain Zone Act 3. I had about 6 or 7 lives. I was running along and I noticed that the music started playing(the drowning music you know) and i'm like, "Snap, there aren't any air bubles anywhere." Death 1. So it seems I, for some odd reason, can't get past this because I die about 6 more times at the same spot(ending my game). The thing is the last time I die I find an air bubble space, I just can't get a big bubble to form, but time I drown a big bubble is formed just as Sonic is falling off the screen. ;_;
Okay, I've got a bad one for yeh.
Picture a determined teenage girl sitting in front of her TV playing Sonic 2. She's all excited because she's never come close to beating the game by herself before. She's tried for almost 10 years and still has never beaten it.
Wing Fortress Zone.... she's got five emeralds, only two lives left. She's running...jumping, collecting rings! She comes so close to getting past everything.... she's on top of the ship, she walks through and gets blown away by the wind....she's slowly being lowered to the disappearing platforms... and jumps at the wrong time, falling to her doom. "No!" she exclaims and waits for the game to reload and send her back to the Star post. In the meantime, she turns to her brother, who sits behind her watching the game. "I am so close to beating this game, I am SO going to do it!"
....she takes a running jump after starting at the Star post.... and runs headlong into a fan, ridding her of her last life.

XD! I'm sorry but I can just see you getting up and throwing the controller at the wall. That had to feel terrible. Sonic 2's got a cool ending too. Although i've yet to beat Sonic 1 so I can't really laugh at you.
Oh wait I can laugh...i've beaten Sonic 2. *slapped*
I actually stared at the screen for a good twenty seconds before I turned the Sega off and said "I hate this game." XD
I've beaten the game before with my brother (I played as Sonic, he as Tails), and we've beaten the game that way. But this was the first time I've gotten this far by myself. XD; It was....interesting.
..... FINE! Go ahead and laugh! XD; see if I care! **shot**

Hahahah Oh i'm just kidding with you, you'll beat it one day for sure. I just know it.
In Sonic and Knckles, when I defeated the final boss. After that I have to chase Robotnik and hit him 8 times. Since when Sonic is chasing him walckthrough is breaking and at my final hit, I fell of the stage. I had no more continues and lifes. DANG!
Don't bump old threads with posts that have little or nothing to add.
DO YOU UNDERSTAND?
Where's Jack Nicholson when you need him?
"Are we clear? Are we CLEAR?"
Anyone else been playing as Super Sonic on S2 in the Mistic Cave Zone?
At one point in one of the acts (I think it's act 1) there's a drawbridge that you have to pull down using a vine lever, and the drawbridge is over a deep pit filled with spikes. I remember once I came to this point as Super, but because of the speed I misplaced the jump and ended up dropping onto the spikes. As Super Sonic, of course, they didn't hurt me, but the problem was I couldn't jump high enough to get out, even with Super's higher jumps! I just had to sit there and wait until my rings ran out and I died!
Another time, same place, but with normal Sonic this time. I jumped and landed on the vine, and the drawbridge started to descend. I jumped off as it lowered to below me, but, unluckily for me, it didn't become solid enough to walk on until it had finished moving! I dropped right through it as though it wasn't there, and got impaled on the spikes below!

I think my stupidest death was in Rail Canyon. Grinding as Sonic, I was really cranking my speed up. I whizzed round a loop, turned a corner - and jumped the bloody tracks, falling to my doom.

Funnily enough, I did fall in that pit as Super Sonic once and I actually got out of it again. Maybe you have to have had some momentum going and react quickly, then he can jump high enough to get out?
As for the second bit, I have done that too many times. I thought human beings were supposed to have the capacity to learn? Mind you, it is a *sweet* trap when you're playing two player and your opponent is just barrelling through the level... *insert evil laugh here*

(looks at the older posts and blinks) Am I the only one here who's never died from the Egg Viper's last attack? o.o;
Anyhow, most stupid death for me...
Hmm...oh yeah.
In SA2, final battle against Final Hazard. Instead of fighting, I procrastinated the battle as long as possible to see how long it would take before the ARK burned up. 😛
Rail Canyon, time race, tried to land on the bottom rails instead of going through the round rails.
Miscalculated jump = good as gone.
First time I played Sonic Advance, after defeating the 2 Mecha Knuckles' in Angel Island I got squished by the capsule that contains all those little animals. Since I had no rings, I died.
I think I've died once from every.single.instance mentioned in this thread.
My most embarrassing death was, after talking up the fact that I could finish Sonic 2 w/Knuckles with all the emeralds without losing a life, turning the game on and dying at the first badnik. My reputation, tarnished!
Well one time my friend came over and I let him play on my saved Hyper Knux file on SMC. I took him to Mushroom Hill and he had about 48-9 rings. Yep all he needed was 1 more. You know those birds that blow the air and stuff...well I was telling him to try and jump at it's head when he isn't blowing. So he jumps but not high enough...and hits the arrow point and loses all his rings. What a loser. <--- Knux for having poor jumping abilities. =P

Really? Whenever I get crushed on my bro's cart, the capsule doesn't do me any damage...
And yes, it is very possible to die on S3&K's HPZ. I was Sonic. My obnoxious and evil brother was Tails. We were just whizzing thorugh HPZ, having spent most of our lives on that *expletive* Lava Reef boss and finally beating him.
Moving on, Robotnik tries to get away. My brother doesn't know you can't kill him. So what he does is, he hoists me up (my little word for Tails carrying Sonic) so I can hit him. I frankly yell at him to et me go, but no, he doesn't stop there. He flies me straight into Robotnik as he's getting out him electro-shocker thingies. I get crushed inbetween shocker and Emerald. I die.
Now, my brother thought this was hilarious, and we both had a good laugh. Next life, he decided to do it again...ON PURPOSE. Bang. Game over. Thank goodness for S3&K's save feature, or I swear we'd never have passed Launch Base.
Also annoying is that weird glitch on SA2B's Green Forest multiplayer. The player that is NOT me always falls through the floor at the start and inexplicably dies. And then can't get out of the dying cycle.
My brother has blackmailed me many times. Damn you, Tails. Damn you to hell.
