Well this is new (to me anyway). Apparently Super Sonic & Super Shadow were supposed to be unlockable characters in 2P mode. Since no game screens nor any kind of info was ever mentioned anywhere or in the SA2 CulT section I just wanted to point this find... I'm about to take a look at the Dreamcast version next to see if there are any differences.

Also... Since SA2B has the MultiLanguage support descriptions, they are also mentioned there.


Discuss, whinge, fan-boy arguments and all that. ^_^

You know what? that would have been a cool addition to Sonic Adventure 2's story mode, to have a Super Sonic/Super Shadow...showdown!

I'm guessing the 2P battle would've been in space maybe...

That's cool. But as usual, Sonic Team had to make the Super forms more"EXCLUSIVE".

It would have been cool, but they were probably removed to maintain balance. Super Sonic against Amy? Now that's just cruel.

Dude, Human Shadow, you spelt "Cool" wrong =P.

I think it would be very interesting to have Super Sonic in 2 Player mode.

Wut would be even MORE interesting is if I could play him in the LEVELS -__-

XDXD @ Elias. Oh boy thats funny. But yes to play as the Super forms in the levels would require Special Stages or some other form of labor, because to have such a reward needs a somewhat difficult task. Anywho...stuff like this makes me mad. Why change this ST. Geez.

Actually Super forms could add an extra sort of balance by giving an advantage to the less experienced player. They should be in the game, period.

Due to the placement of Super Sonic/Shadow, it is beleived that it was to be a seperate game mode, so Running, Hunting, Shooting and ZOMGDRAGONBALLHYPERSUPERSAYAINHEDGEHOGBATTLEROYAL!

I'm very dissapointed it was removed. I still play SA2 multiplayer a fair whack. This would have me addicted like Dr.Pepper flavoured crack.

When was the last time Sonic Team allowed you to play as the Super forms in the regular levels? Sonic & Knuckles?

If it was a part of the character V character racing then it would have been interesting, and cool to see them in the levels at last, but as a one on one battle rather than race I'd say it'd be pretty lame really. They don't have much of moves list for one, besides the 3 little chaos powers and flying headbutt.

I think it would have been cool as a sort of 2 player split screen co-op against Final Hazard, whoever gets the most hits in a specified time limit wins or the person to run out of rings first loses (so there should be ring gathering added, but limited supply.)

Well, they would have had to recreate the characters and models if they wanted to pull it off, seeings as the Super characters are only ever in full flight and have the whole wavey quill thing going on. They did put alot of work into the extra characters, to the point of giving Metal Sonic his old Sonic CD moves (best feature ever), but it's fairly obvious that they didn't actually update his model for the new animation, hence why he just floats in a half-spun ball instead of flexing to zap all like he did in Sonic CD.

So, yeah, it was probably just a time thing, can't do much about it, as Gamecube one did more than enough to add to the original. I'd rather have the updated Hunting physics, Chao Karate, updated 2 player and so forth, than just 2 extra secret characters.

No, he's still in SA2, they didn't take him out. He fights the final boss of course. =p
