its happening again... its sonic advance! >_<
Man, why can't Flicky Turncoat DX make the news? =/ Mofo news? Do we even have Mofo news?
This and Sonic 2 XL are getting all the coverage. Also don't say bad things about Sonic Advance. The first game of the series wasn't bad, more like a transition game, combined with Pocket Adventure. Sure there were boosters, but it was different compared to say, Sonic Advance 2. And even then Sonic Advance 3 tried to fix the "hold right" in their layouts. I wonder what would happen if the boosters in Sonic Advance 1 were hacked out.
Unfortunately, those videos don't even come close to accurately parodying the proliferation of speed pads in most DIMPS-related Sonic titles. I suppose it's mostly due to the level design in general being unchanged. If they had flattened most of the hills and filled in some of the gaps that forced you to employ standard platforming tactics while sporadically placing a pad at every point after you are forced to stop by an enemy/obstacle/wall, and then another further down as you careen carelessly through loops and slanted inclines/declines whilst also being bounced every which way by springs to scale vertical shafts without stopping only to land precariously on a railing that will safely guide you over a pit and towards the stage's end without nary an input from the player besides Hold Right... then maybe I can see them making an honest effort at poking fun.
And then maybe they can get a job at DIMPS. 😀
Talk about making a mountain out of a molehill!
I guess that's supposed to mean something.
Needs more spikes and pit of death.
What have they done to my beloved Emerald Hill Zone?!? *breaks down and cries*
Really? REALLY? I mean, we get it, Dimps is a little speed-centric. Yeah, anybody who's played Advance/Rush knows that. I dont see why it takes a copy of Sonic 2 full of randomly placed speed pads to get this point across. Yeah, its funny, but... really? I mean, at SAGE, too?
The point is that Dimps doesn't get it.

Its not just the speed, its object placement, enemy placement, the complete dumbing down of momentum, its linear paths.
The only really good Sonic game Dimps have made that is not a Sonic 2 hack is Sonic Rush Adventure. Gentler learning curve, actually quite fun bonus levels and Marine. Marine will always be awesome.
You see, I didnt notice much difference between that and the original Sonic 2 other than the speedpads :/
I still stand by my point. I mean, its a game thats made bad on purpose to be funny, and honestly, I'd rather have a game thats made better than a ripoff of a game that was made already thats actually supposed to be worse.
