Now, if anyone thought that it was yet another collection of Sonic's Mega Drive games, I'll have to break your heart. Its a collection of music from the Sonic series. So far its only available in Japan. Because Sonic is super popular over there...
A CD containing the best tracks in Sonic games. Just 1 CD too... Unfortunately, Its mostly tracks from the recent Sonic titles. CD, R, Adventure, Adventure 2, Heroes, Rush, Next, Rush Adventure, Riders and Rivals 2 are all here. No Techno version of Chemical Plant for you.
Here is the Track Listing:
TRUE BLUE: THE BEST OF SONIC THE HEDGEHOG

Oh well, Seems a bit of a wasted opportunity. At least we'll get to hear that Open Your Heart Remix from RF. And that rather nice sounding Angel Island Zone remix from Smash Bros.
It appears to be out on the 23rd. So it'll be available to download soon after. >_> Naughty people. All of you.
Two ways this thread can go now: Everyone goes wow and it dies or someone will post what they think should be on the CD.
What no tunes from the classic Genesis games?
Yes, finally a track list!! Thanks, John. I pre-ordered this (and the Riders 2 OST) a few weeks back (because I collect Sonic music CDs), knowing that it was mostly stuff I already have on CD - the mention of unreleased tracks just made it something I needed to have (plus I want my collection to be more 'complete'). I already knew about the SSBB Angel Island tune being on there, but outside of that all I had was hopes for certain tracks, and I'm glad to see that all of them have been fulfilled:
I'm super glad to see the Surfin' SRA Mix there, because it's not on the Rush Adventure OST (it plays in a flash movie ad on the japanese SRA site).
Race to Win is 'bad' in the way that Sonic Heroes' We Can is, with the added bonus of repetitiveness, but... *looks around* ...I admit that if I don't listen to the actual words, I really quite like it. I hope that it has some extra verses here though.
Sweet, full version of the Remix Factory OYH. That's awesome, it's been a long wait.
Two things surprised me though:
Sonic X Theme? The dub's theme? I actually don't mind it, but I would've thought Sonic Drive would get a place over the dub's theme. But I don't have that on any CD, whereas the Sonic X OST has 4 versions of Sonic Drive already, so it works out well for me.
Crush 40 version of Seven Rings? Didn't see that coming, though maybe I should have after the StH06 Vocal CD. It could go either way. I think Crush 40's All Hail Shadow is inferior, but their version of His World grew on me (I hope they do the same for Seven Rings as they did for this one - new lyrics).
While I acknowledge that a lot of Sonic songs are not really considered good music, I admit to getting some form of enjoyment out of all of them in the end.
..I'm going to be an outcast from now on, aren't I? D:
You are now officially The Mofo's "Sonic The Hedgehog Music CD Collector Fanatic".
*hands you official pin*
First I've heard of this. Thanks for the heads up.
That's is a pretty nice compilation of the best of the vocal tracks, I just rearranged them on iTunes to this order (minus the bonus tracks). I wonder if Angel Island will have lyrics since all the rest do? About the only two songs I think deserves to be in there that aren't are Wrapped in Black and Un-Gravity.
I like the "Un Gravitify" song from Zero Gravity. And I really like Jet's remixed theme in there too...unfortunately "Catch Me If You Can" isn't a Sonic theme so I guess it doesn't belong. But I guess Un-Gravitify and Catch Me If You Can (Remix) are both too recent so they couldn't be in that complilation.

It's a vocal collection.
I would have liked to see the tracks from Shadow the Hedgehog like Magna-fi's ALl Hail Shadow, Chosen One, I Am (All of Me), and Almost dead. Theose were my favorite songs from the whole series
Hmm... Sonic Boom is on there and no sign of Sonic Warrior or Cosmic Eternity. Strange for a Japan only release where Sonic Boom was only on the PC version.
Also, for all those complaints out there, this CD seems to be comprised entirely of Sonic's themes (or title/Sonic stage/end boss music), so the exclusion of Shadow music and character themes fits with the rest of the album.

Sonic 3 Boss should be in there, then.

Damn straight!
Also Launch Base.
Huh... I always assumed the title was Sonic Warrior. Thanks for clarifying Spite.
Truly this is a victory for random lurking of a forum. Information from Snatcher from the Shadow of a Hedgehog forums:

Yep, got both True Blue and Zero Gravity Tracks in the mail today. I'll have them both up as soon as possible, but please give me some time to actually LISTEN to them first. tongue2.gif
I have to go to work in a few hours, but I'll try and get the bonus tracks from True Blue up before I go at least.
Oh and just for the record... Told you it would be the U.S. SONIC X theme. grin.gif
SONIC BOOM = Opening version, also.
SRIH C40 Version is OK, very much like their His World try. It's gonna take me some time to get used to it, but I certainly don't hate it.
The Open Your Heart Remix IS NOT the one we've had a sample of... IT'S A MILLION TIMES BETTER! It's got some great new lyrics over top of the old lyrics. Trust me, you gotta hear this.
You're all gonna love the Angel Island Track, too. grin.gif
I dig it like a shovel
Woo, rediscovered unused Amazon virtual gift card FTW. Just ordered a copy of this. =D
I was getting excited about this until I realised that all the tracks I liked on it I already had. I was hoping for a nice copy of Sweet Sweet Sweet, or the full-length Sonic Boom. For reasons best known to Sega, the Sonic Boom that plays when you stick Sonic CD in a ghettoblaster is the short version. Or you can have a nice instrumental.
I would join with Craig re Cosmic Eternity - thank heavens for the SA2 special edition soundtrack boxset thingy
And, oh for Natsu No Hi...
DW
EDIT: OK, the Angel Island remix is indeed made of win. Did someone say this was on iTunes?
Psxphile (and whoever else asked)
There is an utterly awesome OC Remix of the Sonic 3 boss music. Project Chaos has several tracks in it that are utterly awesome and S3&K related:
Scrambled Eggman (Eggman/Boss theme from S3/S3&K)
Malicious Fingers (Final boss theme part 1)
The Doomsday (Final boss/Doomsday Zone)
Just something to tide you guys over till Sega does an official one.
I've got some of those remixes. I recommend Dead Batteries (Flying Battery), and Robotnik Radio (S&K miniboss).
Scrambled Eggman (Eggman/Boss theme from S3/S3&K)

Did the other mirrors not work?
