Before you end up getting stuck in a rut and have a collection of question based topics with little or no replies (see here) why not start by giving us your opinion on the matter instead of waiting for someone else to come along and "break the ice" with their opinions?

Well instead of being a jerk about it why not ans-

RESPECT YOUR ELDERS!

I'm tired of these yung uns coming in here and getting lippy with the older folks. Back in my day when a Mod says "eat your dinner, you best believe to clean your plate and wash it too.

[shakes head] Who left the front door open, by the way?

The apology'd be more effective if you were to heed his advice.

Let me answer your question! I had never played a Sonic game until Sonic Adventure 1, so I had no opinion, I did think, "This is pretty sweet, where can I get more of this." Eventually I found the other games, so basically, I had NO opinion because I didn't know about the characters.

I hopped onto the Sonic bandwagon when SA2 came out, and thought that all the characters looked totally friggin AWESOME! I loved that game and raised an epic little Chao named Tango. <3

Hmmm I think when I first saw him I thought he looked really cool.  Oddly enough what bothered most was the metal plating under his shoes and not his green eyes. I figured Metal Plating isn't good for traction and all that.

I didn't really think it was a metal plating - just thought it was oddly coloured rubber. 😛

And yeah, I loved the game...great fun on a first-time playthrough - still fun to this day, too!

<scratch head> although this thread worked regardless of its poor planning.
i really didnt think anything was left to be said about sonic adventure since its so old now.. when was it released anyway?   but well anyway still is fun to see the interest.

about the shoes and the metal, didnt it have a metal clacking noise when sonic walked or is that my imagination???

Having played Sonic since 1991 on the Genesis, I was super excited about Sonic Adventure and the Dreamcast (especially after the lack of a true platforming Sonic game on Sega Saturn). I begged and begged my parents to let me skip school on September 9th, but they did not allow me to do so. Instead, my dad picked me up from school and took me straight to BestBuy where I bought my Dreamcast, a VMU, and Sonic Adventure.

When I sat down to play, my dad actually sat there as well to see what all my fuss was about, heh. I played SA until dinner time, trying Sonic and Tails' gameplay and then learning about the Chao's. In retrospect, between my little brother, my bestfriend, and his little brother, I think we all played the Chao Adventure more than SA.

Sonic Adventure was the last great excitement I had for a Sonic game, aside from Soinc Heroes when I thought it was going back to SA's Sonic stages of gameplay. It's been a ruff relationship for old-school fans like myself with the past decade of Sonic games.

However, keeping all of this in mind, I may be just as excited for SA's release on XBLA/PSN, as I was nearly 11 years ago for his true (blue) 3D debut.

Hooray for this topic and it's trip down memory lane!

I also forgot to mention that I loved Sonic's Soap Shoes, because I had those myself since I was into inline/skateboarding back then, and saw this addition as only logical, haha. Woo!

To be fair to him, the edit button is rather tiny.

The first Sonic game that had me really really excited to play it was Sonic Adventure 2. The closest I ever got to feeling that again was probably Unleashed.

But back to SA1. I remember I quite liked Amy's redesign. Though to be honest that was my first time really seeing her.  I never played Sonic CD but I had seen pictures of her old school look over the internet.

i really dont get how amy got such a big mention in everything between sonic cd and sonic adventure. she was barely in sonic cd and yet both archie and fleetway managed to create characters based on a sprite you saw for about a total of 15 seconds.

Maybe there was just something enchanting about her? And when Adventure came around she was the easiest way to gain a female audience. So hell why not make her playable?
