Tails is a refrence to a kitsune that had a name despute but was settled for both thanks to sneeky programing and Knuckles is an aftershock of a Nike arrangement gone bad. What's not to get?

Takashi Yuda and Yasushi Yamaguchi, respectively.

That was the explanation for his necklace, as I recall.

In fact, I recall the same interview saying that Knux started as green, but was changed to red at the behest of little kids. I'm not even commenting on how Ken Penders took that and turned it around (sans little kids' behest)... wait, I just did. Crap.

Knuckle's chest design doesn't look like the ol' Nike symbol at all o_O

Maybe they just really wanted to sue someone...

Well, the way I got it, originally, Knuckles' white mark was going to be a Nike symbol as a tie in promotion for some shoes or something. However, the deal fell through, and the white mark was already too far into production to be stopped so they simply changed it to the ring we have now.

Rofl, yes that would have been hella lame.
I see now...
And that's why Knux's shoes are so cool?
I totally remember thinking "Wow, Sonic and Tails' shoes suck balls - but Knux has AWESOME shoes!" (Why I thought that god only knows.)

It's not really important - they were employees of Sega, and therefore fair game.

It'd more likely be Sonic Team since they're Japanese (as opposed to the American Sega Technical Institute), but really, who CARES what team they were part of? It's the men themselves that count when it comes to something as personal as character design.

That wasn't what you were saying.

If it's sources you wanted, then I got it from Wikipedia. I know they're not the most reliable in the world, but those names generally match the ones I remember.

quote tages are on the side when you post, in the insert column. Between 'email' an 'center' buttons.
Or In ezcode you can just type quote /quote inclosed in []. If html format is on then use <> as brackets instead of []. Does this help?

one more time. type [.quote]This is how quotes work[/.quote]
now remove the period from that sentence and it becomes like this

Quote:

This is how quotes work

I don't think I can make it any clearer. ^^;
