Didn't Cream hop in Sonic Battle?
I do agree that there is something to hate in all Sonic characters but you will always end up liking some characters for wierd reasons and you always end up hating others.

Cream is WEAK. Without Cheese she wouldn't be able to do Jack.
Although it begs the question, if she's weak, why is Sonic Advance 2 a walkthrough when you play as her?

I don't know why people say Cream would be weak without Cheese, I mean Cream can do everything that Sonic can do. She can spin dash, she has super speed, and her spin jump can destroy robots just like Sonic's does and then in addition to all those things, she has her flight. So, with or without Cheese, Cream is far from weak unless you want to say Sonic is weak without a kamikaze chao.
Tails Doll! Tails Doll would've been a good character if Sega/Sonic Team/Travelers Tales would've been a good character if they put some thought in his character.

I don't really know if there IS a worst character. I guess it depends on what you like in the games. I personally don't HATE Cream. I just don't entirely see her as neccessary. The same could probably be said about all the characters to some degree. I'm not saying that any are 100% unneccessary though.

While still on the subject of Cream (again), Sega/Sonic Team should at least have developed her character more in a few ways. With the exception of Sonic Battle and episode 46 of Sonic X, she really doesn't do anything. And I consider that a bad thing.
She's a good character. One of my favorites as I've said before. She and Cheese just sit there and gather dust as time goes on...

*Reads Cream rants* I agree with CVP. Just because Cream is marketable doesn't mean she isn't a poor character. I don't hate Cream I just dislike her. Nothing about her appeals to me. She's suppose to represent innocents huh? But wasn't Tails representing innocents in the first place. Tails is still innocent, nowhere in his character represents him as an action packed character. He is quiet, shy and is the type of character who would rather find a non-violent resolution. Given that Eggman is headstrong about his goal thats not really an option for Tails now is it? Cream and Tails both have innocents. They are even around the same age as each other (6 and 8 not too far apart). So why I dislike Cream and not Tails? She sticks out like a sore thumb to the point where it's almost obvious she does not fit into the Sonic series. Her purpose almost feels forced just for marketing purposes. She doesn't care to fight and even refuses to fight in Sonic Battle while Emerl is getting his butt kicked (if I remember correctly) other then marking purposes she's poor character IMO. They already have innocents in the game why do they have to have babyish kind of innocents in an Action/Adventure game. It just doesn't fit. Cream's type of innocents is better off in a Whiney the Pooh adventure game rather then a Sonic game. And speaking as a girl (when I was a little girl before) I probably wouldn't care for Cream back then either because I looked up to older girls or boy characters in a game because I wanted to be like them. From the numerous little kids around 6 that come to my house (I have a huge family with little kids okay) and play my Sonic games, I have yet to see one of them pick Cream first to play with because she appealed to them. So if Cream really is suppose to be marketed for Little kids then Sonic Team needs to rethink on what they are doing.
As for Cream in Sonic X, yes she did fight. ONLY twice out of the 78 episodes where they could have used her help at times in other eps. She did more nothing and crying then she did help. Point is I don't like Cream. If anyone disagrees with me (or hates me for it) or not, It doesn't matter I still don't like her thats just my opinion of her.
(BTW, I use to like Cream a lot just because she was cute, but cuteness doesn't substitute for Character depth.)
From what I hear Heavy and Bomb, tanked. *shot* Other than them, i'm not a huge Big fan and I think these new Babylons as cool as they are might be a bit much. Not Blaze no way, she's hip and cool. =)

Black Doom, despite his appearance in Shadow the Hedgehog, just wasn't as menacing as I had initially anticipated. He's the leader of some sort of diabolical alien race hoping to enslave the Earth, yet he makes for a very weak boss fight, and character over all. He could've been much more evil, and had more sinister plots and ideas, like forcing GUN and the Eggman Empire into battle with each other to decimate the forces, while he swept in after the battle and eliminated the rest with the Black Arms.
But, no.
In the end, he was kind of soft, even after transforming into Devil Doom. The final boss battle was the good thing about him, but it wasn't enough to redeem him.

She didn't need to be introduced to the franchise in the first place when they had a very good character sitting in the back collecting dust, Nack the Weasel, otherwise known as Fang the Sniper. Just a pity that they couldn't use him, 'coz they needed to fill up the gaps for more female characters.

To add to this little debate: I don't hate Cream, but I do find that she can be *useless* in my opinion too. Other than plot most of the time, she really is.
And I do admit: I hate that fact that she can fly. I mean Tails can fly for a limited time. Knuckles can at leasts glide. Rouge can fly. Super Sonic/Shadow can fly. Heck, even Eggman flies in his Egg Carrier of doom. Did we NEED another character that takes to the air? Seriously?
Other than that, I find that she's a *bit* of a Mary Sue, but the fact that she's only six makes me feel better about it, because I usually completely hate those type of characters.

Okay, I don't hate him either. Actually, I rather like him. But I swear beyond all reasons it nearly killed me to play his game. To this day, I want to smack Sega Team over the head for giving him guns. GUNS!! And what in the HELL did he need cars/jeeps--whatever for! I'm surprised they didn't have an unlockable "Pimp My Ride" after you beat the game...

I also agree that Cream is an ok character. I feel that she is just useless at times and has no point, but she is a good addition. I think she should jump instead of going into ball mode though.
Isn't Shadow dead to this day? Isn't he a robot in Sonic Heroes and Shadow the Hedgehog? If he is, they should have just kept him dead, because playing through the game as a robot searching for his past because he thinks he's real is kind of cheesy. Shadow is my favorite character, but if he's just a robot now, what's the point of him? Sega should have just kept him dead, not bring him back as a pointless robot.
Spoilers (Select To Read): No the Shadow you play as in Sonic Heroes and Shadow the Hedgehog is the original Shadow from Sonic Adventure 2. Apparently after about 7 minutes on the Devil Doom. Eggman confirms this that he was lying about Shadow being an android and that his robots saved Shadow from the great drop.
And now you know.
I just read that the real Shadow is in Shadow the Hedgehog, so I have no problem with Shadow returning to Sonic games. I also remember Omega saying that Shadow wasn't dead in Sonic Heroes.

Secondly people are looking way too deeply in the whole Big around Cream and Amy. It was only one game he actually had an affiliation with Amy and Cream AKA Team Jubilee. Now he has disappeared into the background. He along with Metal Sonic didn't even appear in Shadow. Which in a way was dissapointing.
He just walks through the chaos saying: The Horror...The Horror.

I really don't like how people think Big is retarded or something. I mean, sure. I'll admit, he doesn't know much about anything at all, but that's because for his entire life until the beginning of Sonic Adventure he's been living in the jungle, in his own little world. As far as Big was concerned, up until that point, there was no world outside that little corner of the jungle that he occupied. Aside from all that, he taught himself how to fish for his own food, make his own furniture, and talk. His only friend for his entire life has been a normal, average, everyday frog, who probably doesn't understand a word Big says.
Then, all of a sudden, that's taken away from him, and his only recourse of action is to try and rescue his friend, when he gets tossed into a world of things he's never seen before. This would seem like far too much to handle for anybody one would consider a halfwit, but Big takes it all in stride.
He also demonstrates himself to be an incredibly quick learner by flying Tails' broken plane from the deck of the Egg Carrier to the area directly in front of his house. Considering that the Egg Carrier, directly after this, landed in the ocean on the opposite end of Mystic Ruins from Big's house, one would assume this would take a fair amount of skill to fly a non-functioning plane all the way across the Mystic Ruins and land both without causing a fatal accident (The plane had no landing gear and he was attempting to land in a treed area) and with such a remarkable degree of accuracy.
Thus, Big isn't stupid by any degree; He certainly has no mental deficiencies. For an 18-year-old cat who had never seen the outside world until Sonic Adventure, I think he's done remarkably well for himself.
As for the whole thing about being around Amy and Cream? Big met Amy during Sonic Adventure and as such most likely feels a familiarity towards her, and his childlike innocence causes him to be naturally friendly to people like Cream. Besides, two of the three members of Team Rose share a similar objective, so why wouldn't it make sense for Cream and Big to seek the help of Amy, who had been on more than her share of adventures prior to Heroes?
So stop making fun of the Big guy, people. He really doesn't deserve it.

Finally an opening to talk about this. I reckon they took her down a year for the Sonic Heroes instruction manual so that the more.. 'worrysome' (ahem) people didn't complain about OMG Knuckles=16 + Rouge=18 = illegal! (despite the fact that's not where your head's supposed to go anyway as this is essentially a kid's series). Only a year's difference from 16-/-18, but I'm sure it'd be enough to get someone fired up 
Sonic X's profile card (which aint 100% reliable, I know) lists her as 18, not 17. And now, so does her bio on Sonic Channel. I'd be interested to see the japanese version of the Heroes instruction manual and see which age she is there.
Besides, he was voiced by Duke freakin' Nukem before the 4Kids takeover, so badmouthing him is just ASKING for the Duke to come to your house to kick your ass and chew your bubblegum, and right when you ran outta gum.
I like to think he was looking for Forggy during Sonic Adventure 2, that's why he had those cameos he was on his own little adventure - behind the scenes, like an Untold Tale of Spider-man.
