Characters like Fang only apeared a bit. Most of the characters from Sonic The Fighters apeared a bit. They probably replaced Fang with Rouge since it fits ladies more to treasure hunt.
Apparently there was a Fang profile up on SoA's website for a short while or something like that, so Fang's the most likely, but overall it seems rather...impossible. That said, I doubt anyone expected the Chatoix to return.
It's still there. o.o It's got a pic of Fighters' style Nack there.

What about Howard Carter (sp?) who discovered King Tut? Or Indiana Jones, (not a real person, but still you get the idea).
If Rouge is indeed Nack's replacement it probably has more to do with her looks than her job. I know my brother certainly enjoyed watching her shake her...ahem, wings (and he's probly not the only male to think so).
There's no boys on the internet, silly.
Fang's the only one who they could bother bringing back and he's pointless as long as Rouge is on the scene. Ray and Mighty are (as far as I've heard) not owned by Sonic Team and thusly cannot be used (I've only heard this once, however so put it down to simple hearsay)
Let's assume, of course, that the mechs don't count otherwise we'll have a whole list of oneshot queuing up.
Personally I'd just like to see the -cky's again. Sonic's moving so far from it's roots I'd not be suprised if they were caught up in a situation stuck in a new location...
That rumour is false, Craig - it that were the case, Mighty/Ray wouldn't have appeared in the Sonic Gems mueseum (Mighty at least), and they wouldn't be in the Archie comic.
That's what I originally assumed. Infact I recall bringing that point up when I was told about it. I had intended to search for confirmation at some point, but thought it wiser to ask here seeings as this thread reminded me of the discussion.
For those people who probably wanted to play Shadow in Sonic Adventure 2 weren't to happy about having to play Rouge. Rouge's looks probably made the game a little inapropiate. But I don't think Fang should be in the Dark story or should he? But Team Chaotix got only one apearence nowadays and where never featured again without Mighty.

May I have an coherant, on-topic translation for this post, please?
I don't think the people who liked to play as Shadow in Sonic Adventure 2 were very happy about having to play Rouge. I think her looks were inapproapriate. Fang shouldn't be introduced into the dark storyline, should he? And Chaotix only got one appearence since Knuckles Chaotix, plus Mighty hasn't been reintroduced.
Ah, much more sense. Thank you HSW.
In terms of Rouge's appearance, I find it funny you should mention them being innappropriate on the same day I had to do research on Matthayter's "M Rated Zelda" rant :p
Fang wouldn't have fit into SA2's role noting that they needed a rival to Knuckles who would be able to fit in to the storyline with ease, having a secret agent investigating Eggman and Project Shadow worked excellently. The jewel thing to keep her on par with Knux was just an addition to her role.
Fang has no true storyline significance which would have benefitted SA2 or future games.
In terms of her appearance and attitude...she reminds me of Fujiko from Lupin III. Anyone else?
I say Mighty should have a place in the games. I mean, c'mon, he's stronger than Knuckles and approaches Sonic in speed. Tell me that's not something that would be interesting to see!
Well, even if it's only to take Knux's ego down a peg!
