I sold my xbox 360 a while back, however my friend isn't impressed with it anymore and I'm considering buying it back, mainly for the new sonic the hedgehog. I've heard mixed reviews on this game and was wondering if its worth getting my xbox 360 mainly to play this game (as well as a few others). Should i get the xbox back or purchase sonic adventure 2: battle for my gamecube (i loved it on dreamcast, but dont have my dreamcast anymore )
If we are only talking about Sonic games, I would get a Wii really.
It's 100% backwards compatible with all Gamecube games. And I haven't read a bad preview for Sonic and the Secret of the Rings.
I thought about getting a 360 *if* Sonic the Hedgehog had good reviews. Its had the odd good review but mostly its a sea of average marks.
Its up to you.
sonic and the secret of the rings looks interesting, but not as epic as sonic the hedgehog (which seems to follow the sonic adventure formula).
I don't how epic a game is would matter if the execution of everything in general is poor.
should i just stick with sonic adventure dx and sonic adventure 2: battle
you shjould just stick with Sonic Mega Collection
what about sonic gem collection?
Get a Wii. The numbers of Sonic games make up for the lack of Sonic '06.
With Wii, you've got GC backwards compatibility (SA:DX, SA2B, Heroes, Shadow, Riders, Mega/Gems collection, and the virtual console to get more Sonic games with, and Sonic And the Secret of the Rings out next year.
Or on the other hand you could get Sonic on the 360, and the original StH from Xbox live arcade.
I suppose 360 if you want something new, but you run the risk of not liking the new StH (Let's face it, there's a good possibility) or have access to a large majority of the Sonic back catalogue, and wait for SotR for something new for the wii.
I'm going to throw out the question..."Why did you sell your 360 in the first place?"
Funny question. Should I tell you the story of how I melted my copy of Sonic the Hedgehog for the 360 in the microwave out of pure rage and hatred?
Can't you just borrow your friends' 360 and buy the new Sonic game? Then sell the game later if you hate it. Well I'd at least buy it and borrow the 360, I wouldn't sell the game though... but that's just me. I've a nice little pirates cove full of too many dvds and video games, and none of it will ever appear on ebay or the second hand shelf of your local EB. >='E
Just don't buy the Xbox 360 for the game, unless you have other reasons to own one (Dead Rising loosk sweet). I'm trying so hard not to impulsively buy one, even though I can afford to, instead I'm downloading the videos of the game off Sonic Cult so that I wont have any reason to buy it(the story and music being the only redeeming part from what I've heard).
Why does he need to buy the game and then sell if he doesn't like it? Why not rent the game instead as it is much cheaper and he'll save a lot of money.
Yeah I never considered that; the video shops near me practically only have PS2 and Xbox launch games, they never saw fit to update their collection. But if your local video store has it then go for it. *needs to relocate*
There's a few good reasons to own a 360, mostly beginning with Dead (In the form of "-or Alive 4" or "Rising")
I'm buying a 360 soon to play Gears of War and Nighty Nine Nights, getting Sonic The hedgehog is also a focus point, as despite the Average reviews, I'm still looking forward to playing it, but if I play Sonic 360, and it turns out I hate it, I won't really care that much, it's just another one for the collection!
^I haven't heard very positive impressions about Nighty Nine Nights either. But that's another topic.
