nope, proper golden syrup.. ^^ the english kind, not the 'made from maple trees' type!

yup, lemon juice (especially from those little plastic lemon-shaped containers) is a popular topping for a lot of people i know.

PANCAKES! ^___^ *bounce*

Maple syrup? You guys are mad.

Golden syrup is the daddy. Also Britpancakes>Americakes.

So, as you all know, girls with big boobs work at Hooters, right?

So where do girls with only one leg work?

Nah, Rappy, Potato Cakes are entirely different. Awesome, and I'd actually take them over americakes (unless those americakes were made with raisins).

I don't like pancakes, whether they're American or English.

American pancakes are ambrosial delight for me and to sample their heavenly splendor with a cup of constantly refilled coffee is the pure meaning of heaven.

Oh iHop, oh Denny's, oh amazing pancake house near Tricia's college... sing me to heaven!

i can't remember if i've ever eaten american pancakes (i was only 6 on my only ever trip to america) but i do like english pancakes. ^^ i just can't cook them right, they taste funny and split into bits when i try to flip them over. ;-;

which is why i love pancake day! the only time of the year when i can beg others to cook them for me! ^-^

I don't care for fruit on my pancakes. And this concept of "golden" syrup confuses me.

Honestly, pancakes are a dish best served with maple syrup and butter. Although not on a regular basis.

Do British pancakes have a sweet flavor by themselves? Like sugary kinda?

I do not like pancakes. At all. Never have, never will.

Cinnamon rolls on the other hand, are pure win. Plain and simple.

Can you just make them from ingredients or do you have to buy a mix or something? Because I want to investigate and compare them to American pancakes now 😮

I personally make them myself using a recipe my mum has. I can make some mean pancakes, they just tend to be on the thick side.

Just look up crepes. Because that's the non-cool name for them that everyone uses =(

But are crepes and British pancakes the exact same thing? I remember having a crepe and it was like sugary sweet =|

I thought so. I dunno hang on...

Apparently it's French-style crepes.

150g flour
1/8 teaspoon of salt
1 teaspoon sugar
3 eggs
300ml milk
50g butter

If that's any help. Maybe they are sweet but I have quite a high tolerance for sweetness so I cannot tell :crazy :

french crepes are a bit different to the english pancakes.. especially in taste. (plus the ones i've eaten in france at MASSIVE o_o)

as my cooking skill's aren't great, i go grab one of those little cheap packets of ready-mixed powder, mix it up with water/eggs/etc and then go make a mess with a frying pan.
coat one side with golden syrup, roll into a tube with the syrup inside, devour!
