it's something to do with hormones and puberty, you need more and more sleep. (or find it hard to fall asleep, then even harder to wake up)
although i'm well out of that now. 
with me it's just lots of stress, noise and a very uncomfortable bed.

I hear you about the hormones and puberty. Though it's easy for me to fall asleep, but nigh impossible to wake up. I could probably sleep for twelve straight hours and still be tired.

oversleeping can leave you tired too.. you shouldn't really let yourself sleep for more then 9 hours unless you're seriously exhausted beforehand.
try and get earlier nights if you're teenaged, and force yourself to get up at the same time in the morning (easy enough if you're at school)
and don't watch tv/ be online/play any games up to half an hour before your usual sleep time.. coz it stimulates your brain and you'll find it harder to wind down. reading books can have the same effect too of the plot is dramatic.
have a bedtime rutine as well. (even if it's just 'washfacebrushteeth' etc)
hot shower, hot milk..a comfortable bed in a room that not too hot/cold and is dark and quiet.. that's all i need for a good night's sleep. ^^
aaand that was sleep advice from the becca. tune in next week for 'how to deal with noisy neighbours!'
It's nice to have a lot of sleep, and the free time to have it in...
I'm a night person. I tend to sleep in the day (or not sleep depending if it is a school day) and have a hard time sleeping at night. It just gets too hot and my parents won't let me turn off the heat or open a window due to it wasting heat. They have a sheet thin quilted beadspread and I have a thick green comforter.
It's nigh impossible for me to sleep when the electricity is off. I can't sleep in complete silence. Be it my ceiling fan or our AC unit, I have to have some noise going to be able to sleep.
we don't normally have fans or AC in UK bedrooms.. so i'm not used to noise at night.
although the faint droning of someone's bathroom ventalaitor fan can be soothing. ^^

Amen to that. I also like having the temperature drop from those two things, as well.
That's nothing compared to the blissful humming of a fully functional (and I use that term loosely) computer at night.
Except the computer my grandma has in my room produces an extreme amount of heat. >_<
