Worst level in s3k. Seriously.
It was total D:
Totally.
...I kinda liked it.
*opens his mouth and the music comes out*
Sandopolis Act 1 isn't bad at all, though Act 2's the absolute worst. I constantly get lost and suffer Time Over. ^__^
Act 2 is only bad the first time you play. The act 1 boss is murder if you don't know what you are doing, and all the other times he is laughably easy.
I do not dislike a single moment in the 2d sonic games
besides some tiny exceptions like generally being repelled by sonic 1
Act 2 is only bad the FIRST TIME YOU PLAY?!
T___T I STILL HAVE PROBLEMS WITH THAT LEVEL. SQUISHABLES! GHOSTS! TIME RUNS OUT! LIVES ARE LOST! I CAN NEVER ESCAAAAAPE **sinks to knees and breaks down crying**
~Shadowed Spirit Sage
The mini boss, I just kept hitting him until he fell into the lava. He moves a lot further from a hit than he does when he's jumping.
Act 2 wasn't bad when you weren't frantically trying to avoid getting hit by the ghosts, escaping the rising sand, and trying to get through the barriers before they shut.
Those sandy slides in the middle of Act 2 you slip down on and need to jump at the exact right time to continue on or else you just keep on slipping forever~ ewy
no wonder knuckles is scared of ghosts, most people would be after getting trapped in the dark in that level. x.@;
BRRRRAAAAAAAAA
Sandopolis was easy imo o_o
Both acts. I never had a problem with either act 1 or 2.
I can get hung up on the forever slide thing for a few minutes sometimes but otherwise I think I hate Launch Base the most
The only level I didn't like in the game was Marble Garden. It was easy, I just found it annoying for some reason. o_o
Mushroom Hill is pretty boring. It could have been more difficult or maze like for a level that late in the game.
Well, if we're going on about levels, I thought Labyrinth Zone was evil That was the only level that I absolutely loathed. I can beat it, but damn did that level piss me off.

I've still never managed to beat Labyrinth Zone on Sonic 1 D:
And yeah Spring Yard Zone was fairly lame too.
NO hate for Carnival Night Zone, Act 2 and its evil drum? I Time Over'd like 20 times before a GLITCH got me through. It wasn't till years later that I realized how you were supposed to do it.
As for Sandopolis, I always hated that level. I never figured out the sand slide thing when I first got there. Took me about a week to figure out what to do, but then the whole maze-like level was so unbearable back when I first played it. Still loath it to this day because of it.
Well it certainly is comforting to know that alot of you share my displeasure.
Eh, I don't usually have trouble with it anymore. The rising sand segment remains a pain, yes, but I've gotten quite adept at stopping those ghosts dead in their tracks and at clearing the stage on time.
Also, Act 1's boss never gave me any trouble because I was subscribed to Archie at the time (IIRC) and they sent me a coolio newsletter telling me how to beat the thing! How totally radical!
lol @ I can't beat sonic 3 ytmnd
Carni Isle is one of my favourite zones, even if I could never beat it for years 😯
debug mode, ftw! >>
i still haven't used debug on any game later than 1
...wait
ok, i lied
Don't you know Sonic'd have a headache after getting out of there.
I usually time over at least once in Sandopolis before I get through it. 🙁
I kind of liked it. I would always cackle after leading the boss into the sand in Act 1. nN
Carnival Night was easy for me when I was younger, I just kind of knew how it was gonna work. Then I tried it again years later and it took me like 5 minutes to figure it out. :"> /
I'm almost positive there is a route through Carnival Night that doesn't require the barrel at all
They removed the barrel in Jam or something
Knuckles's route doesn't need the barrel, but that doesn't help Sonic and Tails.
...They removed the barrel in Sonic 3's easy mode? You know what, there should of been a hard mode instead of only easy and normal.
original mode was harder than normal!!!
it has an easy mode? oo
gogo rings on death egg
Yeah, Sonic Jam had an easy mode. Two, in fact. There was "easy" which made the games complete pushovers (and trimmed most zones down to one specific act), "normal" which added things here and removed things there and generally made the game a bit simpler, and "original", which was, as the name implies, the original version of the game - no easier, no harder. No "hard" mode exists.
Totally dude!

TOTALLY DUDE!
Carnival Island was NEVER a problem for me o.o
I figured out how to get past the barrel no prob
Me: *Pushes up and down buttons, notice barrel doing same*
Oh, so that's how you do it! *Beat level*
Come to think of it...there has been an Egypt level, America levels, even Polar levels, but never a Great Britain/Ireland based Sonic level.
Machine Labyrinth? o.o
Azure Lake always felt kinda british.
Quote:
Azure Lake always felt kinda british.
More Scottish, I'd say. Wot with all the lakes and all. And Nessie in the background somewhere.
The British level is called Chemical Plant guys.
No no no, the British level is clearly Hydrocity Zone. See, Right Said Fred was there and everything, it was awesome
Does that thing have an official dance?
Also SH are we all doomed to not get rid of spam comments in our youtube profiles? That always has bugged me whenever I click yours.
I didn't play it on Jam and am pretty sure there is a way through the level without that barrel! But I may be wrong =
Actually, I recently bought Sonic Mega Collection. If you really know what you're doing, Sandopolis is easy. The forever slide only need one jump to get out of it and the ghosts are really just psycological. =D
By psychological, do you mean that they can't hurt you? Cause I've gotten hurt by them many times when I couldn't get to a light switch in time.
they can only hurt you if it's dark for awhile and they're easy to keep at bay so they're not a big priority
