Granted that I am (kind of) evil, it took a far more dastardly mind to concoct the being known as LNR. I just drew a couple pics and such, I didn't create him.

Why do you hate chao? O_o I was never that fond of them myself (getting their emblems in the SA series were annoying), but they were otherwise cute little Tamagotchi-like creatures.
they dont have a form i can imagine to be real... they just look like a dew drop to me. i dont like how texturest they are. i mean what is their skin? is it fur or human like or watery.... and how do they pick up stuff if they dont have fingers... they just look too demonic with the poky head and all.

The chao are in the same universe as a talking blue hedgehog that can run really fast, a fox with twin tails he can use to achieve flight, an egg-shaped man who uses animals to power robots and a giant gemstone that powers a flying island, among other things. Realism is something the Sonic series isn't known for.

They are probably made out of water(or a water-like substance, I don't know), like Chaos. They are not real creatures in a game series not meant to be realistic. Can't they get away with not having fingers?

While "cute" is subjective, yes, I'm not sure those are very strong reasons to hate the chao. Oh well, thank you for the explanation. ^_^
you're welcome but just to clear somethings. even if sonic is a talking hedgehog i know he's based on a hedgehog. its clear but the chao arent clear... unless like you said they are water. secondly sonic's characters all have fingers so i expect the chao to have some even chaos has better looking hands.
i dont mind debating this, making you all hate the chao would bring me much joy > : )

look i accepted the power puff girls to not have fingers cause the artwork of the show wasnt detailed enough for the viewer to expect much sense in the design. but sonic's world and all the characters were professionally designed. they're too complex in comparison to a drop of rain with a smile. not having fingers made the chao more silly cartoon than what sonic's game was about. its like putting the teletubbies with metal gear solid. the chao are out of place.
and they're DEMONIC!!! they'd work well as alien monster designs for halo or something.
